  • I think the "I just wanna go" and "I don't care" tune is the same..

Anyways... 2NE1'S SONG IS STILL THE BEST!!

  • Uhm I don't even hear the similarity.

Oh well, I have the highest mark in my class at music. Guess I'm not biased?

  • seriously please clean your ears they soo different , from the beat itself jeeez

  • PLAGIARISM??? thats so stupid and idiotic .. they are similar but different in other way .... I Don't Care Eh eh eh eh eh ~~~

  • not same :/

  • plagiarism my ass....the other day I composed a song and my friend told me it sounded like a 70's song and I was like WTF

  • LOL. Stupid it doesn't sound the same. I believe Jrdn's i don't care is the one who sounds like 2ne1's i don't care.

  • I can see the similarity......

  • It's absolutely different...

  • yeah like what the other comment.. it sound similar but not it's plagiarized

  • they're sooo different. wtf r u talkin bout...

  • it does sound the same but id rather listen to i dont care then this shit lol

  • yes they are the same the beat if you listen to the begining of both they sound similar, and if you dont think they sound similar then you don't have good hearing which seems to be most of the people commenting and americans don't have power were just smart to point out little things that are in a daily life that some people don't notice.

  • So american can sue koreans, but koreans cant sue american because americans have more power? what shit.

  • i dont care is much better.. for me.. just my opinion...

  • i hear it but....really?

    nah

  • the video poster is not an idiot afterall. at least he got 19,000+ hits. lmao!

  • just a similar not ''plagiarism''

  • not at all..

  • Clearly they took a sample of his music, but they made it their own.

  • LOL tell me it's similar, and I'll tell you to see a doctor for your ears.

  • they sound so different

  • There are similarities but it could've just been a coincidence ..

  • When my brother writes music he sometimes unintentionally will use a melody or part of a melody from a song without even knowing it until I point it out. Music is everywhere and the same melodies, or just parts of them are in all different songs. They may have similar notes, and this could be because of this reason, or digital composition machine produced a similar beat. Things happen, sometimes unintentionally.

  • re-tard-ed

  • You guys called it "similar" lol

  • This is so lame they don't even sound the same!!! Even if you slow the song "I Don't Care" to the same pace as "Just Go" it would still sound different.

  • LOL? It doesn't even sounds similar!!!! WTH? TOTALLY 2 different songs.

  • hhahaha korean always with plagiarism... it sound the same as Richie's song...

  • @RachelRocker4Ever If i'm not wrong I think they are have you read allkpop's article?

  • wow this doesnt even sound the same.

  • Seriously? I think they sound nothing alike. If I heard Lionel's song, 2NE1 would be the last thought in my mind.

  • The beats are slightly similar, 2NE1's beat is faster to match a Pop beat.

Other than that, nothing else is alike.

  • I can see where you can think that they are similar, but if I was just listening to Lionel's song I would NEVER think of I don't care....

  • Note-wise, yes, I do think they sound similar. But they both have different vibes. Lionel Richie's more reggae. 2NE1's more pop. And did @koos235 just say "don't be blind"? More like don't be DEAF. >.>

  • @aznbgirl06 i agree that they do sound similar but not the same...but 2NE1 did make a reggae version tand it still sounds completely different from lionel richie

  • @XxWings4AngelxX Yes, the reggae sounds so much better than Lionel Richie's. :D

  • WTF! they are not the same. stupid kpop netizen. duh!

  • They don't even sound the same. This is just typical americans. Sueing and showing off.

  • @Strawb3rrymilkshak3 No one is even suing anybody so I don't see what the problem is. The person who posted this video just noted the similarities between the two songs.

  • @RachelRocker4Ever actually I think the papers of plagiarism accusations have been turned in to Korea Music Copyright Association :/

  • i dont care eh eh eh eh eh

  • and i obviously don't care~

  • well, this is indeed pretty similar. U need to admit it. If u cant hear the similarity, then... well nevermind lol

the important thing for me is just that 2NE1's I dont care is better :3

  • sounds pretty similar...o.O

  • Please guys. I like 2ne1 but don't be blind. T__T Musically, it sounds the same. Don't be naive and just accept, atleast the deal is over now.

  • is there even similarity in it???

  • The reactions of Koreans @Americans in plagigraism: I don't care, e-e-e-e-e! coz IDC e-e-e-e-e.

  • u idiots are expecting the musics to be identical?? 2NE1 would simply copy Just Go, they also changed it slightly to make it less obvious but there are still some obvious similarities.

  • i think that just like when u enter the chorus really..but really nothing is the same

  • i dont care sounds nothing like the other song

  • Look at all these people who are lying to themselves...lol. I just listned to both songs and it's no doubt that they are very similar, so the case is closed there. The next case is "who plagerized"?

  • I would say the two songs are somewhat similar, but you can't sue 2NE1 for that because of lack of evidence.

  • Do you have problem on your ears

suck a bit*ch this songs have nothing equal

  • no similarities at ALL !!!!

  • just go is so boring....

i dont care is so damn addicting....

  • LMAO this sounds liek an AKON song!!

    triple plagerism?

  • i see NO similarities. in fact, "Just Go" sounds more like "Put You To Bed", you know: that song by J. Holiday... Although the bottom instrumental might be confused with it; however many of the chords are different.

  • yeah and Just Go sounds like an akon song that I can't put my finger on

  • 2ne1 !!! son lo maximo!! aparte papy teddy es lo mejor!!

  • for the people who wonder why yg never got sued by sony. it is simple sony was not going to get the money that they would put into suing someone back from yg. the amount of money they would had took from yg wont even cover the cost of lawyer fees for one hour.

  • yea its not completely in your face copying so get over it.. think about The Departed. Was a DIRECT copy of a taiwanese movie and what happened? oh it got an oscar or two... americans only care when non-americans copy but have no qualms about copying from other people... (ie. beyonce and fosse)

  • 2NE1 is more hip and fast-beat

  • Sheez the americans are always suing koreans. I don't think the songs are that similar.

  • @Silverlenses4 If somebody doesn't want to get sued, then stop copying.

  • @jdoramaking Seriously , there's no similarities . What's the similarity , can you point it out ? Nothing .

  • @xboredBITCH Just listen to it! Obviously, you're a KFan in denial. I don't blame Koreans for copying...I do it too if I can make money.

  • @jdoramaking There could be coincidence sometimes , even if i'm not a K-pop fan , it's still not copying to me . Why would 2ne1/the composer/writer want to copy . Anyway , the case is close isn't it ?

  • @xboredBITCH Well, u saying it's a coincidence proves that you do hear similarities. Just be realistic. Kpop is built on American music, everything from how they talk, sing, dress, etc. Why would it stop at the songs? I like both songs and I find myself humming between both songs because it's the same. People will deny copying. Even Vanilla ice denied copying with his "ice ice baby" song. Even if they didn't copy intentional, u can't help but copy if you're so exposed to something for so long.

  • SO?????? many songs sound similar these days...SO WHAT!! it cud be inspirations or coincidence but IT DOESNT MATTER!! what matters is people love it and will continue BUYING IT!!!!!!

  • really again Its not worth getting your panties in a bunch.

-o- if the greedy american artist can't share their beats, music, or anything. then screw them.

I mean music is for everyone. we should share. <.< i mean come on... american plagiarize alot of movies. D< I mean mainly Disney! So you know. yeah. thats right!

  • Oh, by the way.. it's pretty childish of you to come to the conclusion that I'm "not too smart" simply based on a comment on a youtube video ;) Everyone has the right to their own opinion, whether you like it or not. My opinion is that these two songs are too alike to be a coincidence. Unintentional, maybe, but not a coincidence.

  • I don't know why Sony didn't take this to court, it could be that they just didn't want the hassle. Lots of people on youtube are using their songs without permission and they take down some of those vids, but never press charges. I mean, can you imagine how much of an ordeal that would be?

  • they probably didn't take it to court b/c the songs sound nothing alike.

five words. 2 seconds of the lionel richie song. "so you can just chill" is the only part that reminds me of i don't care.

compare "you spin my head right round" and "heartbreaker." that thing is crazy obvious plagiarism.

  • @amestrisxcore

Think what you like, but at this point your comment is null and void because other people have already said the same thing multiple times. I've also said all I have to say, opinion still stands and I won't repeat myself. Thank you and good night :P

  • I showed a few of 2NE1's songs to my friend last night and while we were listening to "I don't care", she said that the even though she had never heard the song before, it sounded really familiar. I started playing Lionel Richie's "Just go" and she immediately recognized that one and said that the choruses sound almost exactly the same. To me, that's when two different songs are too alike to be a coincidence.

  • why is this a big deal anyway? lionel richie's 5000 miles away from 2NE1. they have different listeners... and like yeeherng said, the world is a big place

  • But still... plagiarism.

  • i still don't think teddy did it on purpose

  • its not. they should just pay (royalties), and have disclaimers. is it that hard? i mean, at least you're honest to everyone that you just copy.

  • its not really simmilar except when they say i dont care and just dont go then everything else is different like the beat and the time length and the way they sing their song and the beat try listening to both of the songs at the same time theres a big diffference

  • "Teddy said firmly that he did not plagiarize, responding to claims of similarities between I Dont Care and Just Go.He said, I did listen to the Lionel Richie song following the controversy overI Dont Care. You cant say it is plagiarism just because the feel, not the melody,of the two songs are similar. Two people living on opposite sides of the world could have similar facial features.I'm frustrated that some people are convinced I used the Richie song as a reference,if not plagiarized."

  • OMG...another section full of ignorants....remember these singers have connections and could talk to one another about using the song and its style....its not plagiarism...ITS PERMISSION...

  • @MrJulianJplay, it sounds like you're the ignorant one. If YG had the permission, why didn't they give credit to where it's due? And if they had connections and did actually "talk to one another" about this, why would Sony have accused YG of plagiarism?

  • why did Sony not take any action? Perhaps because there isn't enough for them to go on? It's perfectly possible for two people to come up with the same idea independent of each other; that, in itself, of course, doesn't immediately mean that plagiarism didn't occur, but it does mean that simply listening to a song (unless there is huge similarity) is not enough to go on (detailed analysis is needed).

  • cont. I don't know, and have no way of knowing, whether plagiarism actually occurred, and neither do any of you here (at least not with so much certainty). Three things could have happened, intentional plagiarism (the fact that the composer involved is reputable, and I imagine has enough self-respect and wouldn't want to bring harm to anyone involved, makes it highly unlikely), unintentional plagiarism (he heard the song a long time ago, and it influenced his music without him knowing), or

  • cont.2 or simply coincidence (coming up with a song that is similar to another (especially when the similarity isn't that great) is hardly impossible; considering that until it's release a song is only heard by a handful of people, they just simply might not pick up on the similarity, and the situation can be as innocent as that). In other words, people should avoid jumping to conclusions, and use their brain just a little bit more (or if they aren't too smart, perhaps keep quiet)...

  • i was loving this song till i knew it, fugly YG

  • i dont think its plagiarism unless the songs are EXACTLY the same, like lyrics and err'thang. its just the instrumental, so its like sampling. i mean mariah carey sampled Tom Tom Club's "genius of love" for her song "Fantasy" so I cant see why 2NE1 and Big Bang can't do it. but i think people said it was plagiarism cause they didn't credit it iunno that's what people are saying but if it's not for that reason i think it's stupid. Give them a break -_____-

  • You can say that

But I would be freaking p#ssed when someone claims its theirs when I made it.

Sample-ing COSTS MONEY. AND when you are JUST USING it (PLAGIARISM) then you SAY its yours without PAYING.

Its all about ADMITTING you are using someone else's creativity.

And then paying a little piece of it.

Its not that big of a deal IF YOU PAY.

And IF iTS EXACTLY the same , THEN ITS A COVER ...

  • @JPMusics

I completely agree. As an artist, I feel very strongly about copyright issues. If you take even little pieces of someone else's work without permission or WITHOUT CREDITING them, then it's plagiarism. It's rude, it's obnoxious AND it's ILLEGAL. I'm a huge fan of Big Bang, G-Dragon and 2NE1 but what they (or YG) have done is really not okay. I mean, if someone obviously used my drawings/photography as a reference and them claimed that it was their own work , I'd be seeing red.

  • Finally someone who sees it just as I do.

I mean the real CREATOR put a lot of work into making his creativity something that can be SEEN/HEARED.

And to just TAKE a piece of it as a free sample, really p#sses me off.

I mean YG and the ARTISTS got A LOT OF MONEY!

So pay, or think of something yourself :D

  • Wasn't YG the one accusing Lionel Richie of plagiarism? And then they found out that his album came out first?

I read it on Kpop, that 2NE1 might be the one that gets sued or whatever..

  • That's some incredibly epic fail on YG's part.

  • @danimals510 , agreed.

  • so you guys think that someone who writes "It was the worst of times, it was the best of times" is not copying Charles Dickens?

  • de chorus part sounded similar, thats all..

  • the hell with you guys!!

  • just my opinion...the two songs sound similar but they sound entierly different. i wouldn't call it plagiarism. what i would call plagiarism is dineyra copying SNSD's "Tell Me You Wish." cuz both versions are the exact same.

  • No wonder this is the only 2NE1 song I like. I'm a supporter of YG don't get me wrong but if they did it they need to fess up or they're gonna get their asses sued til they're broke. If it were just 2NE1 that's accused of this I would blow it off like it's nothing but it's 2NE1 and GD that are accused that can't just be a coincidence.

  • I said, 2NE1, copied OR copied 2NE1. I didn't say that he copied 2NE1. I said OR.

  • i hate plagiarism. common YG use yr own thinking or brain.

  • Are you joking? Lionel Richie is a grammy winning artist do you really think he's going to copy a brand new group? Just because he hasn't won any awards for this song yet it doesn't mean he won't. Just Go was released in March which gave YG more than enough time to hear it and plagiarize it. I'm not saying they did but it's possible.

  • Plagiarism? This is called Plagiarism? OK that Heartbreaker's rap is similar to Right Round. Some don't call it plagiarism because they think it's only the same beats and doesn't last long. Some think it is enough to be plagiarism. But this is why IDC is also called a copied product? Sorry but WHAT THE FUCK!!!

  • there are 12 musical notes. there's only so much you can do with 12 notes.

  • @MsPearfruit I agree that there is the possibility that all the songs that were "plagiarized" were just coincidences...because who really has the time to listen to a bunch of songs to choose that specific one to plagiarize? I mean, I've heard of songs that have been straight up plagiarized, but I think when it comes to Korea, it's all purely coincidence...I believe we Asians have as much talent as Americans do, so it's not a matter of which country is more talented...music is a universal lang.

  • how about some manner mr internet warrior.. "nobody" does sound like "i will survive"

  • YOU OTHER PEIOPLE ARE DUMBASSES..SO WHAT IF IT SOUNSD ALIKE..no the lyrics adn meanings are different. the i dotn care is holded the same time as the JUST GO..but seriously which one sounds better THEYRE DIFFERETN simular and different ahve two meanings you little dumbasses..SHUT THE FUCK UP..

  • whether yg gets busted or not is not your business it's theirs

  • wow...i respect everyone's opinion and stuff, but seriously anyone with any musical ability can see the obvious similarity, just because 2ne1's song is faster doesnt mean it isnt plagiarism.

  • i don't have any musical abilities and even i can tell the difference

  • Its faster than Lionel's so it means it is different and different is to NOT PLAGIARISM so thats it! end!

  • @pinay1026

Listen to the music played in the background. The notes are completely different. Just because the finished product sounds similar in tone doesn't make it a plagiarism. As for the vocals, the words "So you can just jam" and "I don't care" are the only ones that follow the same vocal patterning of notes. Just because they both use repetition of sound in the "Go go go" part and "Care -are -are -are -are -are" part, doesn't make it the same. They are different notes being sung.

  • well, plagiarism has always been one big grey issue in the music industry, and judging from other companies not getting involved in so many cases while YG on the contrary got into truckloads of plagiarism mess, that would kinda mean something right? But anyway, honest opinion... stop calling ppl names when they post comments against your idols... ittiz starting to get ppl to go anti for your idol...

  • you're all a bunch of dumbasses. this is blatant plagiarism. different tempo has nothing to do with it. it's all about melodies and phrasing. YG gonna get busted HARD for this. i've seen less similar works forced to give up royalties. this is a slam dunk for copyright lawyers.

  • Comment removed

  • I like both songs, but i dont see similiarity between the two, whoever that made this video is nonsense

  • geeez... you can't even compare those two songs.... they are soooooo diffrents

  • RETARDED

  • haha, i didnt know this

  • how the hell do these 2 songs even compare? I Dont Care has a much higher tempo than Just Go, the only reason why this is being an issue is cause the part when its like Go oh oh oh, is kinda like Care eh eh eh ~are, but 2ne1's is MUCH faster, Song Music are just retards tryna get publicity

  • people from the US are just threatened because KPOP is very VERY famous right now so they find faults to it esp with YG ent coz they have artists who are known worldwide.. notice why 4minute's "funny" was not reported as plagiarized when it sounded exactly like brittney's "if you seek amy"?? that's because they are only targeting YG ent...

  • @AtheNa16HimE

Maybe because they haven't heard 4 minute's songs. Hehehehe

Who cares. I just love 2NE1. Love CL! :)

  • Wondergirl's "nobody" sound's like Gloria Gaynor's "I will survive", nobody complained!

  • cuz it dosent sound like i will survive stupid

  • idiot

  • teddy park.. tsk tsk... i expected more from you. ripping off linoel ritchie. not good.

  • Whateva Even if 2ne1 copied the song which they didn't cause it really sounds different,,, it's so obvious that 2ne1 is way better than Lionel Richie is just finding a way so that people will listen to his music ahahahaha claim it Lionel Richie .:))

  • you , are a dumbass -.-

  • they are really different!!!!!!!!!!!

    2NE1 fighting!

  • WHATEVER LOSER

  • there is such a thing as chord progression. look it up.

  • its not really similar you people are just jealous and insecure of 2ne1. u better l0ok up the meaning of "PLAGIARISM" in a dictionary before u say a word.. first of all you must think before u say something. ok the meaning of plagiarism.

to steal and pass off the ideas or words of another as one's own

to use (another's production) without crediting the source

    to commit literary theft

plagiarism is an act of fraud. It involves both stealing someone else's work and lying about it afterward.

  • So what if the vocalizations are similar... it's not the same. It's a musical style similarity issue, not a plagarism issue.

  • you can sing the song of I dont care in the beat of Just go but so so so not similar! like different the beat is way off!

  • they dont sound alike at all

  • Seriously, Just Go and IDC are two different songs and it's not plagiarized as what stupid people are thinking. As Teddy said "Just because the 'feel' is the same doesn't mean it's ripped off the same song." I play many instruments and IDC is one heck of a unique song. It's very catchy and I love it.

  • dis is all i can say .. there are many songs that has the same beats .. rhythm .. etc .. and some add a little spice to there song .. by adding some parts of the other songs .. u people whose behind this are just insecure of what they have just done and proved to us .. so if ur a narrow minded person better shut ur mouth ..

  • nothing same okay!? dun frame KOREAN MUSIC.

  • Nothing is the same. shutup

  • i think if people would go through and compare all the american songs out till this day, you would find tons and tons of songs taht have similar beats/rhythms/etc to each other. it always goes over looked but when someone points it out, everyone goes all insane about it. i think its unfair for korean artists these days and how they are getting crap for "plagiarism". ㅅㅂ.

  • sounds more like a coincidence to me,

this is deffinately not as bad as g-dragon's ordeal...

  • same rhythm and the melody is almost the same except lionel richie's song goes up in melodic sequence rather than stay in unison and the tempo is faster on the 2ne1 one.

  • I love lionel richie...hes a legendary....totally maybe the beat sounds similar...maybe theres someone from YG used to work from sony...who knows

  • Boooring! Not PLAGIARIZED.

    NEXT !!

  • I have to say not PLAGIARIZED I have to say when you plagiarized its like copying lots of parts of the song but then looks at that its just the beat that looks similar!

  • It is stealing but gosh do you think listening to musics right now are different some do have similarities. I would to recommend you at listening LOLLIPOP by Lil wayne, 3 6 mafia and Bigbang/2NE1 ... So you mean Lil wayne plagiarized Lollipop by 3 6 mafia? and BB and 2NE1 plagiarized it by Lil wayne vice versa just by that almost all song have almost have near tunes but they are still different!

  • I think they sound similar, but not to the point where I would go all hyper and say "OMG! they totally copied it!"

  • That was just a beat and woah big dealing it won't make the father or mother of music proud! gosh guys it was never a bid deal. Koreans have there own and thats theirs and American's has there own too. I am ASIAN but I don't deffend anyone each music are amazing and I resepct it so just let it go!

  • particularly speaking, is it really a big deal? I mean it's like a 20-30 second snippet with a similar beat. it's interesting, but not a big big big big deal. so many songs soud similar so why point it out now? artists take from artists all the time, companies are just being weird for getting angry. honestly, so many songs out there sound alike

  • i really dont think it sounds like just go :S

but whatever, most people think im deaf anyway :P

  • oh noz

    D:

  • *fans*
