  • the firefighter test, does it involve pullups and timed miles? i need a general understanding

  • Thanks for this video! I'm glad I found it. I signed up for the 21 day rapid fat loss program and completed day 1 today. It kicked my butt lol! I'm hoping to get into firefighting and I was looking for a workout geared toward firefighting. This is just what I was looking for. Thanks again!

  • Your videos are going to help me allot. Im currently enrolled in the fire academy and i need to start focusing on my state exam. I hear its allot of physical work and its very fast passed from station to station.

  • you people write a lot

  • what if you dont have a bench press table or bed

  • @Fireeater1122 do dumbell pushups so you go as deep as a bench press, continue the reps until ur chest is screaming :)

  • my dream is to be a ff. I dont know how i fell into this passion but its been growing ever since. iv always workd in an office. this month i decided to pursue my dream. i signd up for a firescience degree and im goin to attend the explorers program in jan. any advice for me?

  • @noelsark I would start talking to local firefighters. Build a relationship with them. Building a relationship is key. Donate time to them, help volunteer and show them how passionate you are. Take this time to also learn. You will always learn more by asking people who perform the job in real life then you will in any school setting. Most importantly if you have a passion you must live it. Do things that will help move you in the right direction.

  • @noelsark sign up for a test. you dont need fire science to be a fire fighter. i always wanted to do it since 2nd grade. im a vollie and taking the FDNY test in january... just pursue it. and you'll get it! you'll be fine! take EVERY test available wherever you live. chances are, you;ll def.make it somewhere. best of luck!

  • very helpful, thank you

  • @chipotlex You have a great concept. I viewed your youtube account and I noticed you do a lot with football players. How come you do not practice this same concept with your football players. Running through hurdles and cones (with no pads on) are great but this is not something that you will see in a football game. This would be considered just another speed and agility drill for any sport. This jump start program is designed to help firefighters get into a fitness program.

  • @Fitness4Firefighters Thanks but it's not a concept, training in full gear, at full intensity, and with applicable evolutions is how a firefighter should train. Playing football is different from saving lives and football players do not put their lives on the line. While your exercises are indeed useful as an introduction, they may give a false sense of readiness. The public is entitled to know that most ff's train much harder than what is shown in your video, which I find misleading.

  • @chipotlex Like I mentioned before, this is a starter program for firefighters. I am guessing that since you have a background in exercise that you are in better condition than most firefighters. If you have worked with the thousands or firefighters that I have worked with you might realize that starting out by traininig in full gear is not what these firefighters should be doing. Look at the number one reason firefighters die ..... Heart attack. Progression is important!

  • @Fitness4Firefighters A ff should be ready to perform at full intensity and in full-gear 100% of the time. The fact that the ff's that you are working with can't even get through a workout in full gear and need an introductory program opens up an entirely new can of worms. In my opinion, a ff does not deserve such title if he/she can't stay in top physical condition. When we wear the uniform we are supposed to inspire confidence, not the opposite. Thanks for your responses and best of luck.

  • @chipotlex

These are great comments, if anyone would like to talk to any of the firefighters that I work with, please let me know. I would be happy to have them tell you about my programs and how it has helped them.

  • Have you ever been a firefighter? This looks more like a random collection of exercises than a "firefighter workout."

  • @chipotlex

Actually, I was in the medical field and I started in that direction, but unfortunatlly I found a greater passion and that was helping people prevent diseases. I currently train my local fire department every day and I coach firefighters all around the world. Each of the workous that i have designed are to help firefighters to lose weight, build endurance and improve oxygen intake when in a fire.

  • Thank You! I will sharing these with my husband (he is the FF) as well!

  • Thanks so much for making these videos!
