Austrian German is a form of Hochdeutsch, and thus the second language you spoke. Only some words are different. The third one is Austro-Bavarian, which is the native dialect (or language, depending on how you see it). I know you know this, but the title is somewhat misleading.
No offence but german is a very ugly and unattractive form of a germanic language english is a romance language compared to that crap even the scandinavian languages sound better and there pretty stupid sounding also, dutch sounds better too but english is by far the best. Spanish is the most attractive language in world it just is sexy
@DONTBELAZYCHECKALL That made absolutely no sense at all. Throwing the "you're a dumb American" out there just confirms how really dumb you've made yourself look.
@DONTBELAZYCHECKALL Well, for one, your shitty grammar and run on sentences. "If you confirm her" is what makes absolutely no fucking sense at all. Hahaha. Nobody who speaks fluently in English would say that, whatever the hell it means. English is obviously not your first language or you really are just that retarded. Do you need me to re-post my comment for you to comprehend?
@DONTBELAZYCHECKALL AND CAPITALIZING ALL OF YOUR WORDS WON'T MAKE YOU LOOK ANY COOLER THAN YOU THINK YOU ARE. IT'S ANNOYING AND MAKES IT LOOK LIKE YOU'RE SHOUTING. THOUGHT I'D LET YOU KNOW!!!!
SIR,WHO TOLD YOU THAT I'M SHOUTING. THIS IS MY WAY OF WRITING. BOTH OF US LEARNED AT SHOOL THAT IT TAKES AN EXCLAMATION POINT AT THE END OF A SENTENCE TO CONSIDER IT IMPERATIVE(SHOUTING). ANT THIS IS THE RULE I'LL STICK TO.
@DONTBELAZYCHECKALL It doesn't matter if you think you're shouting or not, to everyone else they will read it that way. You're trying to teach me a lesson in English, when you should be stressing on words with capitalization only on nouns - not every single word. Did you get so lazy that you couldn't hit the Caps lock button? Your comments look tacky and I wouldn't be surprised if most everyone ignored them because of how it looks.
and the most funniest thing is that I am coming to Austria in this autumn for a study, so these lessons really help me. :P but still it's hard to learn those plenty of words who are different from hochdeutsch.. mein Gott!
@iloneens Not really. Not every Austrian is going to speak in Slang. The slang makes the difference. It like English and American English, you can understand, but when they start using slang you can;t understand them. I have met many Austrians when I was in Germany, and I could understand them perfectly, you will not have problem.
Hello, I am learning german but am going to stay with a family in Wien this summer. How can I sound more Austrian? What will they say that sounds different? Thanks for any posts!
Super vid! Ich suche das beste deutsch-oesterreich lehrer. Können Sie mir helfen? Ich reise zwei zeiten pro jahr nach Österreich. Ich muss österreichischen dialekt lernen. Wörter wie erdapfel, pfir di, gruess gott, was tust du den, und geh weider. If you like to teach me you can email me and we go from there. I would be highly interested.
LOL! Warum um Gottes Willen ist "Oachkatzlschwoaf" ein "very important word"? :) Das ist wohl das unnötigste Wort überhaupt. Bring den Leuten doch was Leiwandes bei wie "Rotzbremse" (= Schnurrbart) oder "Zuwezarra" (= Feldstecher). Trotzdem nettes vid ;) LG!
Adolf Hitler mentions in Main Kampf Chapter 4 that the way people speak in Munich (the lower Bavarian dialect) is much closer to his own speech (reminding him of the childhood in Linz) than the dialect of Vienna (to which he refers to as a Babilon of races). So Is the speech of Linz really closer to Bavarian than the Viennese?
Wow kamenoeserce, you really need to change your literary sources. Taking "Mein Kampf" as a reference is... sad, to say the least.
To answer your (irrelevant) question: no. I don't see how "Linzerisch" is closer to "Bavarian" than "Viennese". All 3 are distinct dialects. And even more so as even withing Vienna - for instance - you will find many different accents.
Hi Nala! My friend taught me an Austrian saying once- it was something like "Schauss au die Sau de sche ze wu". I know my spelling is very bad- I'm sorry! Could you go over it in your next video- I would like to know how to say it properly. Also, could you show the written words for the Austrian German as well? In case my spelling was so bad that you don't know what I meant, the English translation of the saying was something about a pig that thinks it's pretty.. Thank You!!
ich hab das wort kippen gerade zum ersten mal gehoert. also scheinbar verstehts nicht jeder Oesterreicher :) (ok, nein, kippen wie in umkippen schon, aber nicht den namen 'kippen' fuer tschick)
piri pipi pirii pi pi piiii pipi! that intro was so kool lol.(halt die klappe!)wow that's a long word for (callate!) in spanish, hey how do you say "how are you" and "thank you"in german?.i know a girl who knows german and i want to see the impresion on her face.hahaha she would be like "how did know that?" or something, well adios and take care.
