Let me just say first of, Im a massive oasis fan and always have been since day one and think this is one of the greatest tunes ever made.

Now, one think I dont understand is all these people that go "I cant wait for Noel solo stuff its going to be amazing....blah blah blah. Oasis IS Noel's solo stuff. He has 100% say in how all the oasis tunes sound and the rest of the band are just his band doing what he says. There is absolutely no reason why his song writing should change.

Some might say Noel is big headed (which he has every right to be btw) but you can't say he's forgot his roots. And I respect him for that completely. That and he really does love music and cares about it, which is hard to find in todays pop stars

The difference is that when Noel acts big headed he does it with an element of tongue in cheek humor, that nonce Liam actually believes that he would have got famous anyway without Noel, and thinks he is the dogs bollocks, Liam Gallagher has never wrote a decent song in his life and never sung one of Noels better than Noel could. The only bad thing Noel has ever done is made the mistake of carrying his knob of a brother for so long, he coulda been so much better solo form the start .

This is some performance. Truely magical and showcases Noel Gallagher's raw talent. I just don't feel Britain and the rest of the world appreciates and respects him and Oasis enough and their gift for melody. People forget how much Oasis changed things. In an era of dance music and boy bands in the 90's Oasis came along and got people to pick up the guitar again. They were adored and meant something and are still going strong today. God bless Oasis!

Strongly disagree! It's a cool version, but Liam's got a better voice for it. Period. Even with the change. My favorite versions are Knebworth 1996 (Liam is ridiculously raw and fucking amazing) and the version from the Standing on the Edge of Noise show last year, which I think is one of Liams best live performances of Slide Away ever.
