@MrLoadingscreen It is also worth it, as you see it in the simultaneous perspectives of the Shades and the main characters. It delivers a very different perspective of the whole story and will make you think very differently about everything you were lead to believe in the first play through
This game seems really good. Sadly i had to return the game back and im pretty sure i wasn't even close to finishing it Dx But through what i've played, it was very moving and VERY addicting. Dear lord, how addicting this game was in the little time i played it XD
NieR is the only game that I have ever been depressed over. During the sad moments I had every bit of hope sapped from my body and I felt dead inside for hours afterward. It made me not want to continue playing I was so depressed. THAT is how awesome this games story is
Nier brings out this bizarre feeling everytime I play it. As a game it is fun, but something about it makes it seem really, unique to anything else I have played. I feel moved by the characters and dread in the world of Nier. It's something special.
This is the best song in Nier, hands down. It's totally epic. It is sad, urgent, and makes you angry at the same time :P Especially after Emil sacrifices himself...
Nier was one of the best buys I had on my PS3. I gave it to a friend at this moment for him to play it. But to be fair I want it back.. I want to play the game again... I want to do every mission, plat it and see all the endings! Not many games can make me do that.
Standards? Their standars lies within Halo(no offense) That's why makers of good games like these are slowly being forgotten and worst, will disappear. Nier is really a gem of its time. Good plot, Good character Development, Good gameplay, Good Art. Screw the reviewers. The only thing they can rate right is FPS. I also like FPS but nothing can beat RPG when it comes to character development, as what we have seen in Nier(Gestalt). If you are a man you can easily relate to Nier(Gestalt)
It's a real shame this game got a lot of flack here. I have not found anything wrong with it. I've been hearing both graphics and gameplay are horrible and then I look again and see the graphics look really good! Honest to god shit like that is not easy to make! Modeling, textured, animating, programming, ect ect. Gamers need to fix their standards. You don't have to only play the supposed "best of the best" to enjoy yourself.
@thedragonb0y Critics were correct in saying the graphics were incredibly dated, but they served their purpose in conveying what they wanted to convey.
Gamers don't need to fix their standards. This game is one of the best games I've ever played in my entire life.
@CyberShadic How were they dated? Poly count high, effects, high rez textures. It's really all style and taste since they are still graphic artists, not machines. That's just what bothers me with how people see graphics. Almost as if a machine made it. It might seem like its being rude to say gamers need to fix their standards, but honestly I do still stand by it. I have seen so many gamers quickly and immediately ready to disregard a new product if even the slightest "imperfection."
@thedragonb0y Please compare Portal 2 to Nier. It's so incredibly obvious that Nier is not streamlined in many, many different places, and Nier came out just last year. If Nier was 2 or 3 years older than it is the graphics would be incredible for the time they came out - but it isn't and they aren't. They're pretty good, but they're definitely not as good as they could have been for a game that came out in 2010.
@CyberShadic Again, you talk about graphics like a machine makes them. Nier has nothing to do with Portal 2 in terms of play, style, story, plot, design, etc. Portal 2 did not invent nor follow every gamer's "standard" for how graphics should look in a game. Nier is streamline in terms of games like Fable or Demon Souls. It's a perfectly made game that should not be seen as terrible because it's graphics are apparently 2-3 years outdated (which makes no sense because games TODAY look the same).
everyone went through so much shit and still died. im not just talking about Emile, Frya, etc...im also talkin about the shades. they went through hell too just to be slain.
if any of u dont know wat im talkin about, then welcome to the sad world known as NIER.
@liloblindboi yeah. The saddest thing is, there's no real happy ending, someone dies anyway, even if you don't know. Ending A looks like you get a happy ending, but as you get the other endings, you realize Kainé died.
Actually, Ending D is the 'correct' one. The one where Nier sacrifices his life and everyone's memories of him so Kaine can live a proper life.
Not to mention that the Replicants can't survive without Devola and Popola resetting them every now and then... so humanity is doomed no matter what you do.
@BlackCladGolbez all these comments on NieR related videos in addition to this soundtrack, makes NieR sound like an amazing game. is it really so emotionally moving? and is the plot/storyline as interesting as people are making it sound?
Taro Yoko also divulged that the future of the world is just as bleak. Aliens with the technology to control all kinds of magic visit the planet but don't do anything to help the Gestalt/Replicant problem. Gestalts and Replicants have to team up in order to defeat them. And are still left with extinction on the horizon.
@FinalFantasyR0CS yea i felt the same way and this game in all i have never felt anything when playing a game but this game almost brought me to tears a few times
