  • Did this sketch in my theatre class....greatest choice I've ever made

  • LOL. 24 people think it's a question of where it grips it.

  • and this is why skyrim can't rule itself...

  • This is the funniest movie in the history of funny movies I have seen it a zillion times since I was four and it still never gets old!

  • @ 1:02. I almost died laughing. The way he asked the question

  • @Angusfailed. I honestly saw this in school 3 years ago, when i was in 8 grade.

  • and about 5 minutes later, you see a swallow flying away with a coconut

  • Best thing to watch in school...

  • Oh, goodness. This guy in my french class said this every day. No joke. It was just absolutely ridiculous!

  • Is this how Arthur knows what to say to the Bridgekeeper later in the movie?

  • well why not?

  • I've seen this at least 50 times..... and it still makes me laugh every time!

  • Hahaha, I love how the other guy just pops out of nowhere and joins the conversation. xD

  • what if the coconut floated from the ocean

  • Love Monty Python! *gathers her Monty Python DVDs and pops them in* :3

  • What? Held under the dorsal guiding feathers?

    Well, why not?

  • I love how they get so off topic haha

  • we found them

  • "Well yeah, An African swallow, maybe, but not a European swallow; that's my point."

  • .like and ill be patsy for halloween

  • ahahahahah. brilliant :3

  • This came to help Arther at the Bridge Of Death.

  • 24 are migrating coconuts

  • they sure do. look at south Auckland!

  • Comment removed

  • This scene sounds like a thread argument on YouTube. 'Tis a silly place

  • it's been a long time, but later in the movie, I think in Camelot, you can see a person trying a bird and coconut experiment.. that killed me...

  • @go2mikerenzi

That was Sir Bedevere right before the girl was brought before him accused of being a witch.

  • 24 people dont think coconuts migrate

  • Monty Pythons are gods! I do dry humor too i love it. see my channel!

  • WHat? Held under the dorsal guiding feathers!?

  • Beat it wings 43 times per second xD

  • it could be carried by an african swallow!! XD

  • i have watched this movie 20 times and have all of it memorized

  • in order to maintain air speed

  • "Wait a minute, suppose 2 swallows carried it."

  • There's one thing i got no doubt about : some pythons quotes will defy time itself. In 10.000 years, the guys listening to arthur's rant and the guy answering "Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?" will laugh just as we do. By the way, I'm also certain an alien catching this via hertzian waves traveling through space would stain the bottom of his spacesuit laughing, even if "humor" and "laughing" were two concepts that didn't even exist for him until now.

  • 24 people can't afford horses.

  • i love how later in the movie, when theyre asked questions in order to move alone in their quest, king arthur is asked what the wing span of a swallow is and he replies "african or european?"

  • @sammyforeverr94 He wasn't asked for the wing span, but for the airspeed velocity.

  • @Standa95 ah thank you! i haven't seen this movie in a while and as you can see, i'm a bit rusty on the details

  • @sammyforeverr94 Actually, he's asked for the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow.

  • LooooooooooooooooL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It could be carried by an African swallow!

  • It reminds me on many discussions in internet

  • I love how you don't see the guy but you just know it's Eric Idle it's awesome

  • @j0KKKer really? it sounds like Michael Palin to me.

  • If there are no coconuts in England, how do they know what a coconut is?

  • @Chnamanjx That's the joke

  • @Chnamanjx

there was also a reference to dynamite in the movie.

  • My cell phone's signature is "Do coconuts migrate?" Monty python FTW

  • 24 people's mothers were hamsters, and their fathers smelt of elderberries

  • I never got this as a kid. Now that I've seen this for the first time as an adult, I loled so hard.

  • and why would a swallow carry a coconut all the way to England? LOL the scientific discussion and the all the modern thinking incorporated into this movies timeline is brilliant, especially when they contradict old outdated beliefs,

  • "It's not a question of where he grips it! I'ts a simple matter of weight roaio's! A five ounce brin cannot carry a one pound coconut!"

  • I think this is the most quotable scene in the movie. "A five ounce bird cannot carry a one pound coconut!"

  • her is my theory of order of events. director cant afford horses. decides to use coconuts and squire instead. one of actors says. "how did they bloody well get the coconuts in England"(he was also an expert in small birds) half an hour later comedy gold

  • @austoful Sadly, that's true; I read somewhere in trivia that they couldn't afford horses. But for such a low-budget movie to have tenfold the quality of projects that take millions...makes me wonder what better we could be doing with that money. :) I say, screw the horses; COCONUTS FOREVER!

  • "In order to maintain air speed velocity, a swallow needs to beat its wings 43 times every second."

Didn't the guy at the bridge ask King Arthur that question and Arthur responded with, "European or African swallow?" xD

  • @intothewoodsjr11 exactly!!

  • @intothewoodsjr11 ''I don't know that! .... NO... WAIT..'' *thwump!* ''AAAAAAAaaaaaaahhhhhh.......''

  • "Oh yeah an African swallow maybe but not a European swallow, that's my point." Freaking hilarious.

  • @scapegoatist But then, of course, African swallows are non-migratory!

  • "held under the dorsal guidance features?"

    "well why not?"

  • @emeraldeyes55 dorsal guidance *feathers*...

  • are suggesting coconuts migrate??? haha

  • Han shot first!

  • 23 people aren't african swallows

  • are you suggesting coconuts mi-grate?

    best line! lol

  • where DID he find the coconuts?

  • Coming soon to theaters: "March of the Coconuts"

    (Narrated by Morgan Freeman)

  • Euorpean or african?

    Where is the dislike bar?

  • Man, as a person that grew up in America, I can honestly say that this humor is superior than what we have.

  • @XxAznDarknezZxX Haha, I agree with you completely. I find comedy like this to be hysterical, unlike just yelling random things to be funny like Dane Cook and a lot of people I know.

  • @XxAznDarknezZxX too bad they don't make it like this anymore.

  • ROFL

  • wow..forgot how much i luuuuv this movie :)

  • Wait, African swallows are non-migratory.

  • Brilliant

  • i love how silly this movie is and its main characters, then there are these insignificant characters with super intelligence lol

  • monty python the ultimate source of intelligent humor

  • A returning part in the entire movie. Even the Bridgekeeper had to ask about swallos...LOL!!!

  • I have learned alot about swallows. Monthy Python is a seriously underestimated source of education.

  • It could grip it by the husk!

  • So now to use the login MigratoryCoconut in every online app.. wonder how many times that has been registered?

  • "Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?" Successful troll is successful! :)

  • This is by far the greatest and deepest conversation in history...

  • All the jokes are so stupid but that's what makes it so smart, funny, and special! :)

  • PATSY!

  • Funny thing is that someone actually did a research study into coconut migration... They found out coconuts do migrate via the ocean waves.

  • @rujikin that...is going to the history books XD

  • This so saved Arthur at the 3 questions.

  • 22 people think coconuts don't migrate

  • @BrickTomFilms your comment cracked me up for 22 minutes :)

  • One of the best scenes. :)

  • epic movie

  • Geoff from Roosterteeth must have made 22 accounts to dislike this video

  • "Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?" That part always cracks me up...lol...(^_^)!!!

  • hahahaaa classiccc

  • "It's not a question of where he grips it. It's a simple question of weight ratios.

A five ounce bird, could not carry a one pound coconut." LOL.

  • @cx1designs I love the way he says "grips it" hahaha

  • @Bulldog22031 I know!! Michael Palin is so funny! I have to watch it now! LOL.

  • i dislike the ending

  • @HypaReallity are you kidding? the ending is hilarious! and then they play the awesome intermission music.

  • @StaticBunnyStudios it just feels unfinished

  • @Timmeh321

Now was that necessary in the slightest bit? I don't believe so. It's a video. There's no need to be mean to people that have their opinions about it.

  • "Where'd you get the coconuts?"

    "We found them."

"Found them! in Mercier? The coconut's tropical."

    "What do you mean?"

"Well this is a temperate zone!"

  • @DivineBanana Yep n it wuz hilarious :)

  • i love how later in the movie right before the witch trial, that guy trys to tie coconuts to a swallow? lmao anyone else notice that?

  • @DivineBanana Oh yeah, that's classic!!

  • @DivineBanana i thought i was the only one!

  • @DivineBanana King Arthur also tricks the troll bridge keeper on the "three questions" bit by asking what he means by a swallow, a european or an african

  • @DivineBanana that was a dove not a swallow

  • @DivineBanana My dad did. He was like "They're still with that coconut!?!?" XD

  • @DivineBanana yeah

  • @DivineBanana I've watched the movie so many times I've noticed all those little details, you notice a few more every time you watch it.

  • @DivineBanana yes

  • @DivineBanana I did. I thought that was hysterical

  • @DivineBanana i never noticed that, thanks for that.

  • @DivineBanana that was a dove actually

  • @DivineBanana YES

  • @DivineBanana mystery solved!

  • @DivineBanana which guy? arthur?

  • @DivineBanana Thought it was a dove. That was a Swallow? Maybe it was a European Swallow? XD

  • @Jennathehedgehog18

    Or African?

  • @DivineBanana yes i watched it today and noticed it and burst out in laughter

  • still the funniest Python film for me.

  • A FIVE OUNCE BIRD CANNOT CARRY A ONE POUND COCONUT

  • this sounds like it would be a conversation between two smart drunks lol

  • @jaufaja ROTFFLOLing

  • "A swallow needs to beat it's wings 43 times every second, right?" "PLEASE!" "Am I right?" HAH!

  • Oh damn I can't stop laughing

  • this is the british sienfeld.

  • @Klinkster68 (FACEPALM)

  • @Klinkster68 *FACEPALM*

  • Watch the whole movie, there is a scene where they hang a woman and at the hanging in the background you see a random guy with a bird in his hand with a coconut tied to the birds leg and the guy lets it go.

Was crying with laughter for ages.

  • @DavieSilva23

now Im going to be crying with laughter xD

You just want attention, so I say go fucking kill yourself.

  • @timmeh231 O_O

  • @timmeh231 haburn haahaahahahahah nice

  • Lol. For some strange reason I don`t remember this bit where they get grilled for `pretending` to ride horses by banging coconuts!

  • Hi. I'm a thumbs up whore. I'll do anything so that people see my comments first. 21 People are frechman!/

  • Best start to a movie ever

  • 21 people dont know what a coconut is

  • @GrisGrisOnUrDoorStep theres a dvd? cool thx

  • 21 people can't do weight ratios.

  • This opening sets up the movie, very important. It tells the audience to not take the film seriously or literally (which the french taunters are doing).

  • "Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?" LOL! i love this! thumbs up if this is your favourite Monty Python sketch!

  • Pure comedy GOLD!!!

  • my parents can't stand this movie, I'll never understand them. Lol. What a great movie!

  • Coconuts can migrate. I have proof. LOL.

  • I wish life was more like monty python. I would just kill to have conversations like that with a straight face with random strangers!

  • Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?

  • "Wha...held under the dorsal guiding feathers?"

The most skillfully delivered line in comedy history. God bless Michael Palin.

  • "He could grip it by the husk!" My fav part :DDDD

  • @hcortens just the way he goes on and on with the technicality reminds me of how James May does.

  • im emailing this to my aviation teacher so he can show it when we talk about weight
