it is a strange behavior anoles do. it helps them see for one thing (they see only when movement is present, same for birds bobbing their heads), as well as the fact it makes them look tougher, and warns other anoles to keep away, unless they wanna fight. i think its for that reason anyways. lol idk for sure.
