I have a questions to anyone who has an answer. As far as allerigic or non allerigic reaction. Can anyone explain to me why I am immune to poisen ivy ? When so many millions of people are not ! Some even as my one cousin, contracts it from the pollon. Thats how allergic he is. Could it be that I am the result of abduction experiments ? I dont think so folks. This planet is so bio diverse, even scientist know we will never figure it all out. Like lightless marine life living by sea flor volcano's
@LOLOOLZZ No absolutly not, psilocybin mushrooms that you are reffering to. Can be extremly dangerous. Belong to a group of toxic mushrooms they mildy poison the digestive system. Which the toxin produces hallucinations .Each individuel system reacts differently to the toxin. Have an alrergic and you might not be counting mushroom fairy's anymore ! Not to mention the the toxicin can cause permanant internal organ damage !
@hondaspeed152 First let me say this. I am by no means an expert on mushrooms only a hobbiest ! Secondly I would suggest that you go to the library. Get the book Mushrooms of North America by Orson K. Miller, Jr. 1977 edition. Look up psilocybe family. page 183. Mr. Miller puts these family of mushrooms in catagory 4 of toxins ! What people do is there business. I personally would not knowingly ingest anything toxic. Why am I emune to poisin ivy ? I dont know, I am not a doctor either
@horizanadventures all the research ive done, and i found out that shrooms arenet poisonous and dont do harm to the body. maybe its just that kind of mushroom. idk
@horizanadventures When miller wrote that book, psilocbin mushrooms were still only known to the west for 28 years, no research was done like it has now, and no overdose, no allergies, but thats besides the point.
What the heck are you gonna do with al those honey mushrooms???
@jerryk2198 Thank you for your comment. First let me say. Whatever type of mushrooms a person eats, or for whatever tthere reasons are is there busy. When they write me I simply state my opinion. Second I can most of them for later use. My family loves them. My oldest daughter eats them like candy. I cant can enough for her ! We also give a lot away to friends. People that dont know mushrooms and are frightend. older people who have eaten them, but cant get out anymore.
@jerryk2198 That brings a lot of joy to my heart. Its a compashion & obsession with me. Research studies now being conducted on the( hen of the woods,or mitake) show that this fungis. Is extremely high in minerals, & enzymes that boost the emune system. Plus they are very high in antioxidents. Right up there with bluberry's! Try & get out there & get some. There very healthy for you. We just gave 2 bushels full away yesterday. They were very happy to recieve them. Good hunting & good luck to U.
@horizanadventures Well hens are extremely rare if non existent in california, right now im picking chanterelles (Cantharellus Formosus) and getting ready to pick our local california large porcini species (Boletus Edulis Var. Grandedulis) Hehe im definitley not a psilocybe enthusiast...
@horizanadventures ...oh yes : ) ...these days are bountiful ...every day in my neighbourhood park and wild areas even the curb sides that have been left to green up
...my mushrooming is now part of my early morning exercise/foraging ritual and an absolutely vital part of my living with 'ease' program. I learn more each day about how beneficial fungi are to our very survival on this planet.
...I could go on and on but I'll stop to say thank-you for asking : )
@gaiagale I agree with you competely Most people dont know the benifits of edible fungi and the role they play in the scheme of things. I once worked with a guy that said to me. He did not eat mushroom because they have absolutly no food value. I showed him articles in magazines and papers. Where study's were conducted and they found that certain mushrooms such as polypilus frondosus.
@gaiagale The mushroom I showed and talked about in the video as having pores instead of gills. Was high in antioxidents second only to blueberry's and contained special minerals that can only be found in this mushroom
@horizanadventures I agree ...some mushrooms/fungi fruit are even high in proteins ...some are loaded with B vitamins ...on and on in terms of benefits
...here's a thought ...fungi are nature's exhaust-free harvesters and the fungi fruits are beautifully wrapped nutrient-rich gift packages. Whoa! I think we're on to something big! Dude!
Incidently, "polypilus frondosus" is missing from wikipedia ...your knowledge of this mushroom is important and of value to the wikipedia bank of knowledge
@gaiagale Yah I dont know about wikipedia. Its in mushroom books but they are just finding out about the nutritional value. So that info is not in them ! Its a bit of a specialty so they thats probable why they dont have info ?
Well sorry to here that but those species are very good to and I am sure very benificial to. Good luck.
