I remember watching people dance to this song on a TV show called "The Hy Lit Show-Hy Lit was a DJ and radio announcer from philly -great show-this was around 1968
ARCHIE BELL'S BROTHER JERRY BELL USE TO SING WITH THE NEW BIRTH AND THE DAZZ BAND! HE NOW HAS A CD OUT WITH ONE OF THE HIT SONGS FROM NEW BIRTH CALLED IT'S BEEN SUCH A LONG TIME!!! IT'S A MOTHER! THIS MAN IS BADDDDDDDD! HE IS ALSO ON UTUBE. I TELL YOU ,YOU SHOULD LOOK FOR HIM!!! GREAT RE-MAKE!!
@donkuss The year was 1968. Just FYI, the song was arranged by none other than the fantastic Thom Bell, who went on to great fame with the Stylistics, Spinners and others.
Just change up that Tighten Up riff and add some Spinners background vocals and BAM, another great song lost in the hallways of time... Shore nuf groovin' now ya'll

I Just Can't Stop Dancing charted at #28 on the R& B billboard on February, 1969.
Archie Bell was born September 1, 1944, Henderson, TX. He is working on a website, but a good background article of this group can be found here:
