i hate it that when you convert the cost of the G98 advanced from USD to GBP it's the same price in the UK as buying a stock TM vsr-10 with no attachments in a colour nobody wants, hence why it's cheaper than usual otherwise you're talking $60-$70 more if you want it in a decent colour. you guys over there have it made when it comes to airsoft prices :/

@ElCapKid Buy a Well MB01 or MB08 (100$ price range), upgrade it with 6.01mm or 6.03mm PDI Raven Inner Barrel (40$), a PDI hop up unit (80$) with a guarder hop up rubber if you're <450 FPS, if above, get a harder rubber like a Prometheus. In both cases, a Laylax spring would be a good upgrade (20$). You can get an upgrade set with piston; spring guide and cylinder for about 70$ at ehobbyasia , then finally add a PDI trigger box for 120$. With the remaining money, buy a nice scope ^^

But I have seen some snipers that are not see through in Canada but they are probably just made here. other then that you can't get non see through guns. Plus Evike and Airsoft GI don't ship to Canada (well every airsoft store in USA) which really sucks :l

@MuhammadFusenig To me, yes the gun is totally worth it. The bolt IS pretty stiff but after a couple days of using it it will become natural to you when pulling the bolt back with ease. The magazines are very nice quality. They have a metal base and the internal parts are plastic. The bipod is pretty good for one that comes with the gun although the tri-rail it attaches to is a bit wobbly on the gun but I actually prefer it like that. The double trigger feature is nice. I will continue.

@MuhammadFusenig More about the double trigger, its a good little feature to the gun as you won't accidentally fire which could give away your position. The effective range of the gun is about 250 feet or beyond. It shoots very hard but using heavier BBs will decrease the fps a little and bring the accuracy up so most fields will allow it. As long as you stay far back and not really close nobody should be badly injured, just might leave with some welts :) Just know that dry-firing is loud!

@MuhammadFusenig You're welcome. I started off using .20s but now I use .28s and .30s mostly. Every now and then I use .40s. Just use a good brand such as MadBull or maybe Javelin. They might cost more but the quality will make a difference. I recommend getting a good side arm as well (unless you already have one) KWA has some very nice pistols but if you're on a budget you could just have a decent Co2 powered pistol from AirsoftGI or even one from a local sports store. Why does Tim use .3 gram bbs?

I have this gun and i use .43s in it. It is really accurate with .43s but the bbs drop pretty quick. Is it because it is a good combination of weight and speed? its still accurate and you don't have to compensate as much for the bb dropping. Is that why he uses them? should i use them? Thanks.

Oh yeah get an M130 (thin version, Guarder preferably since the spring retains its strength longer than others) spring if you want to use it on a 400 fps limit game. I've got mine set up at 402 +/- 2 fps. My inspiration came from Vavann56 in youtube. My goals is to have a set up like his minus the TM mk23.

@Terminator1012 Yes I was able to buy the G98 and the metal trigger box from ASGI. At their site click on Bolt action Upgrade parts > Spring powered Upgrade > then find the trigger box, it's the second item i think. I also left a comment to install the upgraded trigger box since they have to start from a plain UTG L96 anyways. They gladly installed it. The $80 upgrade is worth it trust me. Even the ASGI tech cracked it lol.

Bought this with the upgraded trigger box. Out of the box it was 584 had to downgrade by cutting some coils on the spring now its 555 fps +/- 4. The limit on some fields for a sniper is 550 fps. I've gone through at least a minimum of a thousand .40g BB's and no major issues with it. Here's a tip, use your thumb to push bolt block instead of the handle so you won't have the issue like Tim demonstrated at 2:23.

@fortjp500 Heavier weight bbs do not affect range that much because the kinetic energy of the bb is still the same. A heavier weight will be less affected by wind but will hit your target slower.

Basically, a heavier weight means a slower bb, but it's more accurate.

I orderd this gun about 5 weeks ago and it is still shooting great. My only problem is that after about 100 shots, the clip slowly starts to lose its lock and falls out when you put it in. I called customer service and they said put duct tape on it but i just paid like close to $300 for the gun, im not puting fucking duct tape on it.

I have an Well L96 with EDGI 6.01 x 600mm & pdi hop up, ect... laylax 110% spring (500 fps w/ 20's after it wears in...) I pay around 350+ all together, BUT!!!!!!! with .30's my gun can hit quarters at 100 ft every time! (cause of SCS nub too). I suggest if you play skirmishes and want to snipe get this gun, BUT if you skirmish and like to test your self like me make your own from a UTG or Well & upgrade all plastic parts please & have spare trigger BOXes (they crack)
