Richard Dawkins is a much better "representative".

It held a deep importance to both their faiths and the significance came from the passing of the harsh cold period into spring and it was given spirtitual importance. Chrisitianity took over, and pushed the focus of the mid-winter festivals to the birth of Jesus as a strategy to convert the different groups of pagans.

@daddyleon actually yes. the first part of the first Zeitgeist movie was true. if i was in charge of it, i would have cut out the other 2 parts and stretched out for two hours. the modern Bible was plaigarised (sp.) from the Egyptian Book of the Dead. right down to the characters and events. @daddyleon IT doesnt mention the 25th in the Bible because many other fesitivals which pre-ceed Christinity were held in mid winter all over Europe by Anglo Saxons & the Celts. It held a deep importance to both their faiths and the significance came from the passing of the harsh cold period into spring and it was given spirtitual importance. Chrisitianity took over, and pushed the focus of the mid-winter festivals to the birth of Jesus as a strategy to convert the different groups of pagans.

The fact remains that even with quantum theory we cants disprove the existence of god. We can go back and say string theory explains the different elements and with billions of galaxies out there ife was just bound to happen yadadadada.
The point is, believing everything just happened is about equally as far fetched as believing in god. However if they are right, and im wrong. I still die. However if im right and they are wrong......

But I cannot believe in something that was written in a book over 2000 years ago, and I fail to see how really someone can, but like I said I am open minded. I wouldn't be suprised if there is some sort of god, but I don't believe in a religious god like you do. Even if there is a god, evolution is still a fact. He could've just created the universe and let it go its own phase.
