What I love about Vsti's like Sylenth1 is that I can ( in Samplitude ProXSuite ) without Cable Bullshit add HighClass Efx PlugInn's a la Waves Api Eq's, Lexicon PCM Reverb,Waves Aural Exciter etc etc etc in a mater of seconds and record them in High Quality without backgroundnoises ( Focusrite Saffire Audio Interface ) in 24 Bit/96khz quality. With my MAudio Axiom Pro61 it feels like messing with a Analog Synth and sounds just simply like a great Synth - who cares if its Hardware or Software?
@mustachiosch you can create this sort of sound with most synths. Get 2 to 3 osc's generating saw waves and detune them and play them at a low octave :)
@denimslugs, I don't know much about synthesis but I paused the video and copied all the settings of the knobs from part a and b, and I got pretty much the same sound but theres a really horrible feedback sound i can't get rid of. But I'll give your way a go. What do you mean detune? How do I do that?
@mustachiosch there will be a knob somewhere on your synth called detune (usually next to each oscillator). I think you can just about make out the detune knobs on sylenth (its the 3rd one in, top left and top right.) You only need slight detune, 3 or 4 semitones, but use your ears because too much detune can make the sound very flabby. There are loads of tutorials on this, Seach "how to make a reese bass" and i think you will find a lot of answers. and you can apply the info to any synth
AWESOME DEMO! it's refreshing to see a developer that really knows their gear showing how key settings can change the sound quickly without the hit or miss tweaking of a quick demo.
it has a nice thick sound with plenty of variety too.
i like that nice bouncy bass at 3:15 that you morphed into a lead. maybe the best (read deepest) demo i've ever seen! great job all around. thanks for showing it off the right way
malatia7575: You say "these vsts" but there's a huge difference between for example a CPU hog like Massive or an extremely well optimized VST like Sylenth1, which can EASILY handle 5 instances with complex chords.
Dude the onlly problem with these vsts is that as soon as you start to make complex chords in your arrangements, no matter how powerful or memory your pc has, it will start to freeze. Same problem if you load like many say 5 intances of such vsts, your daw starts to slow down . TO be brief, so heavy and discouraging to make professional complex music compositions. I don't know if you have same problem, however there are a few vst which are quite light, still with high quality sound, not many.
@ReliProductions true .. i don't understand the piano roll construction of this kind of bassline, i try some stuff but i always got shit/boring bassline, someone using fruity loops should be ok to help me please ? mp is yes ! or if someone got some nice link about piano roll construction of this kind off bassline.
@308beatZ upgrade to 4 gb ram and turn off all other functions when making beats.... stuff like internet connections, anit-virus software and torrent download clients. that should make a big difference. hope this helps
If any one could please spare the time, could you take a look at my new sound bank for Sylenth1, introducing Project Theadora, a psycho acoustic sound bank aimed at commercial music production - electro, dance, trance, tv and film it has it all. also check my channel for daily/weekly soundbites, id really appreciate it :)
I've bought it last week. Great sounding synth. For people who are considering between this and nexus. I just want to remind you that nexus is a rompler. So to get more sound you have to keep buying the expansion. Sylenth is a synth, where you can create sound from scratch.
What is that preset at 2:30 ? I tried setting all the knobs the same but I can only see Part B and some of the LCD screen settings so it doesn't sound very similar. And there are so many presets to look through.
Its "one" of the best that's for sure...but I also Love Synapse Audio Dune,Uhe Zebra 2.0, the Korg Legacy Digital Collection,Terra Tec Komplexer, Native Instruments FM8 and Tone2 Gladiator 2.0 - its fantastic how more and more fantastic Sounding Vsti's come on the Market - I own multiple Outboard Synths ( mainly Yamaha's ) but I spend 80% designing Sounds on my Vsti's and 20% on my beloved Yamaha EX-5 ( my favorite Synth no mater if Soft or Hardware ).
@ncheriyan How are you even ballpark-comparing those two synths? Seriously. Andromeda is analog, Sylenth is emulation, but is DAMN good at what it does. I'm not a Sylenth fanboy, I've just heard its work, and KNOW it does well.
I never said Sylenth is bad. I never owned one but I have AAS Ultra-Analog VA1. Superb synth but very digital sounding. Most software sounds digital and its not really the problem with software programming. The main thing is every little analog component makes a sound warmer/dirtier/deeper. That's why digital hardware synths tend to sound warmer than its softie counterpart (eg: Waldorf Blofeld vs Largo VST).
I have found the warmest softsynth I have used is Reason (IMO).
@DaNorthernLight: Oh, come on. Free synths are nice, since they're free :) But if you can't hear the (huge) difference between for example Synth1 and Sylenth1, you'd better save up for a pair of good head phones.
So many 'probably classic' organ sounds don't seem available as VSTi, or as free samples.

well actually i need a vst like sylenth to improve my abilities in music production, but unfortuneately i don't have 139€ for a small programm. buying all sufficient equipment to produce good music, costs 1000 of euros. I'm clueless at the moment, i think audio companies completely overprice their products.
@sunspots0 I've been an avid Reason user since version1.0, and although I love it, Sylenth sounds thicker, fuller, and richer to my ears. Reason is great, but its filters are somewhat weak. So no, Reason does not kick Sylenth's ass.
@Twentysixbillion This sync button is used to synchronise with host tempo. It has nothing to do with oscillator sync which allows you to synchronise two oscillators and allows you like FM and pwm to create a huge variety of different sounds.
@MeditationProfonde Hi and thanks for the response. I am not an expert when it comes to all this, but this seems a little disappointing to me. @CarmeloFresh15 dude... this is the last place you should be asking that. it's like ...i don't know, really tacky. like walking into a ma and pa sub shop with a sandwhich from subway in your hand, asking them to use their bathroom, and then peeing all over the seat, and then leaving without saying thanks, and then loitering out front for a few hours. if you came to my house and asked me how you could steal a bunch of my shit, i'd bash you in the face. go look somewhere dude, really.

I've heard a lot of fantastic things about this synth. I am interested in producing trance and techno music. I'm debating between the Sylenth1 and Nexus. Any suggestions about the better synth?

@CarmeloFresh15 dude... this is the last place you should be asking that. it's like ...i don't know, really tacky. like walking into a ma and pa sub shop with a sandwhich from subway in your hand, asking them to use their bathroom, and then peeing all over the seat, and then leaving without saying thanks, and then loitering out front for a few hours. if you came to my house and asked me how you could steal a bunch of my shit, i'd bash you in the face. go look somewhere dude, really.
