But I assume you're forgetting that rock was originally just anything with an added guitar and drum track. Actually, it was essentially country music with a some gainy distortion added, so technically, this is rock. Also, this is, by definition, a cover. And a far as I remember, things like covers are the artists interpretation of the original piece.
