I miss my smart roadster from Europe. Here in Australia, only few ot them exist and nobody wants to sell them.... the smart roadster is a curve loving special car. Nothing for the mainstream. Wish I was in it, driving it and feeling its grip on the road....

you are all telling so much crap. the smart roadster could never compete with an evo like that. It only has a 700cc turbocharged. it means if you tune it to the maximum possible 120HP, you won't be able to catch any car with more than 200HP, even if the smart has a grip like a porsche.

The Driver is much more important, next the weight, balance, handling, supension,........

Ahh, the Evo may have acceleration on its side (as seen in the video) but the smart has superior handling and on that track there were more curves than straights. And Evo 8s didn't have that good handling anyway.

look, good driver, bad driver, it doesn't meen a thing. I own a roadster, and I know, there's no car that can catch me in the corners, but on the lane, even a sportKA smokes me. then you have to add that the evo has 4WD and a front engine. there's no way to compete on a track, maybe on a gokart track

Ummm that is an Evolution MR.. You can tell by the vortex generators and the bright MR letters.... Also the MR is the heaviest and slowest around The Ring and has a shit 6 speed.

hahaha, this video doesnt tell you anything, apart from the fact the guy in the evo is just chilling and cruising at like 30% of the evos capability on a track. you have to be very ignorant and dont know anything about this two cars to think a smart can keep up with an evo like this. not on the corners nor on the straights. the smart is drastically outperformed by the evo in every aspect.

I dont own any of them, but have driven both, although you wouldnt need to, just look at the numbers.

man , I drove the Roadster of my father several times , even on the Hockenheim racetrack . And even with some more HP from the tuner it will never be as fast as a seriously driving Evo8 , so don't put such sh*itt* vids like this on the internet . Yes the guy in the Evo really hasn't got a clue! I've got a Roadster myself and it really is a great handling car which can see off most cars round the bends until, they catch you up on the straights. The gearbox does let it down and I haven't really mastered it yet.

Cant say the same for the Evo driver unfortunately.

What exhaust on the Roadie and what remap? What is that throttle "tap" in every gear change?

Overall this should be one hell of a laugh... Evo being terrified by a Roadster!! Respect!!!
