  • Nice work. I have some helpful videos for anyone interesting in starting out on djembe. Check out my channel. Thanks, Norm the Drummer.

  • Nice video. I love the tone of your Djembe and would like to know what type (full details would be great) it is and where I could get one? Please forgive me if this question has already been asked.

  • Great instructional vidio dude! Less talkin' and mo' action. Cheers!

  • nobody invented an instrument just so a certain race plays it! it's for everyone.

  • Doesn't matter, all Djembe drums should be an instrument of joy and connection

  • wow thank you for the video I found it very helpful

  • where did dis topic of blacks n white came??this is just music

people who bring up such things are just some insecure pricks, so just ignore them and lets enjoy these beautiful beats :)

  • you know, this is nice to watch as a learning djembe player... thanks for posting your video i am trying to play along with it but i stumble... i should practice more often!

  • Music is a UNIVERSAL FEELING, and aint limited to certain people!!! Peace everyone!

  • Daumen hoch !!!

  • thanks for the up... sure black people are typically better at playing african drums, but c'mon guys, us white folks want to play too!

  • looks like your sleeves are hitting on your bass notes...probably muffling them. timing is alittle off too. not bad though.

  • I can't believe people are still shallow enough to think white people shouldn't be able to drum. It's time to realise racist bullshit gets you NOWHERE. You people make me sick

  • Hey man! (Nice drum btw, I have one similar one made by Meinl) Is yours Synthetic or skin?

Anyway, I really like how you are just chilling outside. Never listen to people that say you suck (Which you don't, quite frankly), it's all about what you think.

I find myself in my room often and I just start to play and get lost in the time, not caring if my siblings find it annoying. It's just great to play and think about nothing important at all.

  • nice job man. i have the same djembe as you. the bass on mine sounds a lot deeper. are you playing it flat on the ground? the usually takes away from the sound. good drummin though man!

  • MUSIC COMES FROM THE SOUL

  • thumbs for all those who have the lyrics ... ."Cause I'm gonna burn one down" in their heads :)

if you don't know the lyrics... Check it "Ben Harper - Burn one down"

  • Thank you! I love it....very nice :)

  • Grooooooooooovy man.

  • Thats good stuff ! after watching the first minute about 20 - 30 times, i finally got it !!

thanks for the video :D could you make some walkthoughs ? i would be very happy ! :D

  • Thank you for posting this! Sounds good! Im just getting into Dejembe playing myself, wondering if I should buy a 24'' or a 26''.

  • Love it, I bought a 12" djembe and trying my best to learn, I have since bought a 8" and a mini one..lol. I love how it flows when playing outside. i have not played for anyone yet, not good enough for that but wishing I can get even half as good as you! Thanks for sharing :)))) Have a great day! Keep up the beatz :)

  • nice one!

  • niceee!!!

  • calmed ne .. thank you from CNTRL FLA

  • I got one of the Remo Designer Series djembes the other day and it sounds amazing!

  • good video

  • My brother keep it up, you are doing great!

  • @princesskai77 just because u don't like it it's disrespectful... real mature. you make this world a sad place

  • @princesskai77 I have little time for idiots like yourself. Just because he's white you think he shouldn't touch a drum "with his shitty hands?"

Drumming and rhythm are central to the soul of all humans- drumming brings us together, why are you trying to force us apart with your racist bullshit?

  • @MillionsofBees Thanks! I know I'm not the "best" but i enjoy playing and my only goal is to share the love :)

  • @jac4b .....Making people feel the beat thats whats the best!! :) Thank you

  • @MillionsofBees When I first started playing the djembe some self-titled local djembefola commented about how some people such as myself, should not play drums and my lack of skill indicated I had no respect for the instrument. I felt very embarassed then and did not play for a few months, until moving to another part of the country.

Now it's about 4 years later and every once in a while I see that old critic guy...I can play circles around him and no one doubts me for my white-ness lol

  • @princesskai77 may a stinky talibani farts on your face

  • @MillionsofBees word brotha

  • @MillionsofBees amen

  • spankin new djembe man! was it hand crafted or from a factory seems awful clean haha! good video too!

  • if you make a video of just the first two rhythms for 4 min 20 sec ill write a song with violin to it!!! please!!!!!

  • Wat een pannekoek

  • wut djembe is this? i can see the toca emblem

  • I love the beat or sound of this! I can't wait till I get something similar like this for my birthday or Christmas! Heehee!

  • monism

  • thnx a lot for the vid. i just got my first drum but for some reson i do the same beat all the time. this helped me to do new rhythms

  • Хорошее звучание.

  • boss savage

  • boss

  • may i say something about it

i think its a good video to learn how to play djembe but i notice that when u play a rhytm you sometimes go a litlle faster than the other rhytms i know you have to play some rhytms faster for playing them right but you have to think about the people how wants to learn it ... Good played

  • :] just got a djembe for christmas; i play "regular" drums; this has been useful for starting off with :]

  • thanks. it really helped. Im jamming along with my guitar.

  • Good job. Great for beginners to watch and learn. I hope you post more. Your unpretentious manner suggests your excellent demonstration is backed by experience and skill as a djembe drummer. Thanks....show us more.

  • you think? i have the same drum but only use it for practise, fake skin is usually not as god as natural skin

  • @anandshiiva can you tell me the name of this djembé? I rly like the sounds i want to buy it :P

  • Don't know where you get the idea that synthetic is better for higher tuning. That's not the case. IMHO the only thing synthetic is good for is durability and moisture resistance. As far as sound goes, natural is best low and high.

  • @glorplaxy I was only talking about natural vs. synthetic regarding djembe's, as that's what I know about. And I'm glad to hear you agree djembe's sound better with natural skins.

  • Comment removed

  • @glorplaxy dont be bringing your hate into everyones world skippy. ;)

  • agreed

  • ooouuuuu!!!

  • I have the same djembe, just a little smaller. It's a good drum.

  • It's a toca djembe right? What model is it?

  • sounds nice... thank you !

  • dude has got the rudiments down tight...I would like to hear something a little more in-depth,though.....start a groove, and then improv on it and then RETURN to the original groove....where can ya go with it,man?

  • Excelente...

    me gusto mucho...

    saludos,

  • thankss i will look at site dorm x

  • thanks for the replay was just woundering what size it was! and great playing dorm keep up thegreat work

  • look like a 12

  • in the beginning why are you playing the rhythm two-handed playing one-handed is a lot easier, looks beter though

  • because you need to practice both hands :)

  • your brain has two halves....you have to train your hands to work together.....using both sides of your brain...thats one of the keys to doing it right.

  • nice playing and great sound. is that a 12 or 14"? do you have foam weather stripping inside? sounds like it to me - which is a preferred sound in my opinion.

  • what kind drum do you have and were did you get that from??? if i may ask good vid as well nice one dorm

  • that a djembe, like it said in the title, you can get 1 at most of music shop

  • thanks a lot, i´m gonna start to practice!
