Nice video. I love the tone of your Djembe and would like to know what type (full details would be great) it is and where I could get one? Please forgive me if this question has already been asked.
you know, this is nice to watch as a learning djembe player... thanks for posting your video i am trying to play along with it but i stumble... i should practice more often!
I can't believe people are still shallow enough to think white people shouldn't be able to drum. It's time to realise racist bullshit gets you NOWHERE. You people make me sick
Hey man! (Nice drum btw, I have one similar one made by Meinl) Is yours Synthetic or skin?
Anyway, I really like how you are just chilling outside. Never listen to people that say you suck (Which you don't, quite frankly), it's all about what you think.
I find myself in my room often and I just start to play and get lost in the time, not caring if my siblings find it annoying. It's just great to play and think about nothing important at all.
nice job man. i have the same djembe as you. the bass on mine sounds a lot deeper. are you playing it flat on the ground? the usually takes away from the sound. good drummin though man!
Love it, I bought a 12" djembe and trying my best to learn, I have since bought a 8" and a mini one..lol. I love how it flows when playing outside. i have not played for anyone yet, not good enough for that but wishing I can get even half as good as you! Thanks for sharing :)))) Have a great day! Keep up the beatz :)
@princesskai77 I have little time for idiots like yourself. Just because he's white you think he shouldn't touch a drum "with his shitty hands?"
Drumming and rhythm are central to the soul of all humans- drumming brings us together, why are you trying to force us apart with your racist bullshit?
@MillionsofBees When I first started playing the djembe some self-titled local djembefola commented about how some people such as myself, should not play drums and my lack of skill indicated I had no respect for the instrument. I felt very embarassed then and did not play for a few months, until moving to another part of the country.
Now it's about 4 years later and every once in a while I see that old critic guy...I can play circles around him and no one doubts me for my white-ness lol
i think its a good video to learn how to play djembe but i notice that when u play a rhytm you sometimes go a litlle faster than the other rhytms i know you have to play some rhytms faster for playing them right but you have to think about the people how wants to learn it ... Good played
Good job. Great for beginners to watch and learn. I hope you post more. Your unpretentious manner suggests your excellent demonstration is backed by experience and skill as a djembe drummer. Thanks....show us more.
Don't know where you get the idea that synthetic is better for higher tuning. That's not the case. IMHO the only thing synthetic is good for is durability and moisture resistance. As far as sound goes, natural is best low and high.
@glorplaxy I was only talking about natural vs. synthetic regarding djembe's, as that's what I know about. And I'm glad to hear you agree djembe's sound better with natural skins.
dude has got the rudiments down tight...I would like to hear something a little more in-depth,though.....start a groove, and then improv on it and then RETURN to the original groove....where can ya go with it,man?
your brain has two halves....you have to train your hands to work together.....using both sides of your brain...thats one of the keys to doing it right.
nice playing and great sound. is that a 12 or 14"? do you have foam weather stripping inside? sounds like it to me - which is a preferred sound in my opinion.
Nice work. I have some helpful videos for anyone interesting in starting out on djembe. Check out my channel. Thanks, Norm the Drummer.
