Tori was REALLY into the abstract mysticism of Twin Peaks when it was on television, as she admitted in on the audio commentary on the Fade to Red videos. Both her and David Lynch are artistically obscure minds and the combination of both of their work is a palatable recipe.

To maashedinplastic: I've been listening to this song for weeks. Brilliant introduction: nobody even new why Mary-Ellen Amos changed her name in Tori... could she had thought about 'satori om'? Perhaps. However, satori om is a buddhist notion while David Lynch is a firm believer in the practie of Transcndental Meditation, which comes from the Vedic-Indian tradition. What's your thought about that? And what did you mean with the final reference to the character of Philip Jeffreys?

Being a Tori (and David's work fan), I have to say the original songs were perfect for Lost Highway, but maybe NOT together. Caught A Lite Sneeze is such a haunting song on her own, and I'm Deranged IS Lost Highway ;-D

This was absolutely awesome! I love Tori Amos, Lynch's movies and David Bowie's music. Bowie's I'm Deranged was the song that made me listen to his stuff even more, Tori's album Boys of Pele (from which Caught a Lite Sneeze is from) was the first Tori-album I got and Lost Highway is among Mulholland Drive one of Lynch's best movies. Wow!

In "Caught a Lite Sneeze" Tori sings "Pretty Hate Machine" - the tile of NIN's 1st album. On Tori's 1st album Trent Reznor of NIN sings on the song "Past The Mission". Reznor produced the soundtrack for Lost Highway. NIN was cited as a huge influence on Bowie while making the album "Outside" which "I'm Deranged" originally appears on before being added to the Lost Highway soundtrack!

@Mundstrom Everything perfect, apart from the fact that 'Past the Mission' is in 'Under the Pink', Tori's 2nd (not 1st) album. However, on her 1st album, the song 'Precious Things' speaks of christian boys with 'their nine inch nails'...
