  • I can remember the noise from one of these beauties during the RAF St Athan airshow in Barry South Wales.

So loud that it hurt your ears.

  • Some sort of music in my ears :)!

  • Lovely video :D

Cant wait to see the vulcan at Farnborough this year :D

  • the noise of those olympus engines throttling up and the howl is just purely amazing. can't wait to see her at waddington

  • i remember seeing the vee vulcan at the leuchars airshow as a kid, and i'l vouch for the others on how loud it was.

hope it can return to regular flight. my late uncle maintained them at leuchars.

and maybe see her at the next leughars airshow

  • I'm going to biggin hill 08 and the Vulcan is going to be there for the first time in 9 years...(apparantly)

  • Iwatched the Vulcan come in to North Weald on the friday befroe Fighter Meet Airshow Sat / Sun many years ago. Sat on top of my car as it came in... shook me to the floor as it passed over me and then the pilot did a wing wave feet from touch down before powering off in to the sky for a fun go around. Deafened and bruised (no really!) I loved every second of it!!

  • I think funds have been been forthcoming she will be flying soon!

  • I rember Seein Avro Vulcan At RAF St Athan...

  • I read recently (Aircraft Illustrated - April 2008) that the rest of XH558's flight test programme will be delayed until sufficient funds are collected. The Vulcan to the Sky Trust is a registered charity.

  • she's a beautiful bird...now we need a victor back in flying condition

  • Bring it back and bomb France... or Iran... or whatever comes its way. Just drop some bombs.

  • I HAVE to do one of these R/C!!!!

  • This is why the U.K. needs to develop another bomber...its a gorgeous machine. Oh, and BTW, it was almost a proto-stealth bomber. With that shape the lowered radar returns were noticed pretty early on...just a tidbit to chew on.

  • Is it in active service?

  • She has been restored and will be displaying at shows. Flightglobal has a lot of information about it

  • unearthed memories of many a take off and landing at RAF Finningly.. the awesome triangle in the sky!

  • Wow what a great video, great to see that old bird back in the air again :)
