  • Why are some people here judging the whole of the English speaking world by 1 individual? It's ridiculous... and ignorant.

  • His spanish is actually not bad. Of course he would need to add to his vocabulary to carry on an extended conversation, but his pronunciation is good and he does a fine job stringing together proper sentences. Maybe he could get Landon to teach him a little more espanol?

  • and i wonder why english players never play outside of the uk

  • Why do native English speakers never learn to speak another language correctly? It's pretty sad that he isn't able to speak one sentence without a mistake.

Same thing is when Hollywood actors come to other countries and say stuff like "Hola Madrid. Que tal?" And then everybody think "Oh amazing language skills". lol

  • three years to learnt only that hes like the retarded of anderson he has like 100 years in man u and he needs chicharito to translate him

Spanish/castellano is more difficult to learn than english. Spanish, has a more complicated grammar than english. Besides, in spanish you must know how words are accentuated and the use of accents.

On youtube, spanish people make many mistakes when writing in spanish. :(

  • alguna vez se vera a un angloparlante hablar correctamente español?. its that hard? I think english is easier for hispanic to learn than spanish for english speakers..

  • LOL.....first time i heard this guy speak spanish...not that bad..haahaha

hearing his italian would be nice..

  • Jajajajajajaja ¡Que desgracia! El tio ese es analfabeto.

  • @Hydro2oo9 why dont u speak english u piece of shit..how many languages can u speak 1 dumb fuck spaniard

  • @mercenary120 I can speak better english than you. You fucking tool. How can an american say anything about speaking english? You don't even speak it properly nor spell it properly. English from england is REAL english, you faggots just speak a half arsed version of it.

  • @Hydro2oo9 Why are you bothering with someone who calls futball soccer?

  • Comment removed

  • @mercenary120 Why do you bother with the Spanish league then? Stupid Yank, work on your grammar.

  • ive been taking spanish for 3 years and i knew what he was saying

  • @CapitanJusticia Hombre soy ingles.

  • He actually speaks spanish good.

  • Languages just don't come naturally to everyone. I've taken 5 years of both French and Spanish and I understand both pretty well but I'm not fluent in either. Be nice, guys. Also, that was ADORABLE! I wonder how he managed to have a bromance with Casillas when his Spanish sucks and Casillas' English sucks haha.

  • DB Legend

  • hahaha "u understand?"

    he is so cute

  • i dont know that he can speak Spanish, wow, nice

  • Wow, one of the few times we get to see Becks really nervous!

  • i think he talks spanish very well...his "gracias" is very spain accent like and is very good most of the ppl that its first languge is english have a funny accent but he dosen't good job beck's btw love the part when he say "it been un honor" Cute!!! 'que hombre bello el beckham'

  • @ifonlywecouldfly9 how about spanish players who play in EPL did they come for football or to learn English. they try and speak english you don't have to talk like that bruh. it's better to learn the language of country you are staying.

  • "no es mal, eh?" haha gotta love him x)

  • You are right mate!!!! First the

  • The Chinese language actually has no tenses in it. That for me would just be too weird. Loosely related but still, there's enough to learn of the English language for an Englishman let alone becoming fluent in Spanish, which has so many variations in the language itself before you even take local dialects into consideration. We just try to speak louder with more politeness.

  • I love David Robert Joseph Beckham more than everything

Becks stay the best and hottt and cute forever :)

your biggest fan forever... i miss you so much in Real Madrid shirt:( 23

  • footballers are thick, learning a language is hard so props to him, he's ok.

  • Tevez has lived in England for about 5 years and doesn't speak English at all

  • at least they actually understood him though some people are hispanic and cant talk spanish for shit

  • I UNDERSTOOD EVERY SINGLE WORD HE SAID :)

  • people dont realize that from a english speaking person its SOOOOOO HARD to learn spanish...

  • @LuisRamirez666 not it aint its easy if u are interested in spanish and want to learn

  • @pwt10 yeah obviously, if you put some effort to it. btw. everytime i hear this press conference i hear his voice like sad, maybe because it was his last day as a real madrid player :(

  • jaja "pero no es mal eh?" his spanish is quite good i understood everything he said, I've been told it's very hard to learn.. good thing it's my native language eh? jaja

  • "it's been un honor..." jaja

    how adorable

  • He speaks good Spanish, I understood all he said, he speaks better Spanish that many Spaniards

  • guys a legend he learned spanish to pay respect for the people there..im trying to learn spanish now with my scottish upbringing and background in french it is hard learning spanish but as im playin in america now so many football/soccer players here are spanish speakers so it helps to speak it

  • its true not many english people can speak another language but its much more difficult for us to learn. All experts agree that its best to be around and familiar to the language as much as possible , but in england you never here any spanish , italian , french , german ect for the simple reason that they dont really produce anything in the way of music , film , tv. Most young spanish people watch and listen to mostly english/american stuff since a young age

  • So what? They made a BIG DEAL, out of a man who was interviewed in Spanish, when he LIVED in Spain for over a year!? Wow..... what idiots..

  • aww he's so cute haha

  • I like his Spanish :)

  • Do all RM players have to learn spanish? What kind of language do they speak to each other in? On the pitch and in training and with the coach.

  • OMG SO HOTT

  • yeah he could mean much more for madrid in that time ,, but stupid madrid doesnt know how to treat good players ,, look at figo .. real has no loyalty

  • c´mon ppl I think he did well even if he ahs an accent , he´s english and spanish isn´t a language which is quite easy to learn , even the pronounciation is difficult.

I think I´m not way better than him. It´s ok. He should take his son BRooklyn ( he can speak spanish fluently) with him, he could translate anything .xDDD

  • pwt10... you are right mate... I'm sorry for posting that comment about English people who can barely speak another lang even if they are working abroad... Gary Lineker is a genious, and his Spanish is almost perfect.

  • jajajaja que lindoooo

  • wow, hes actually pretty good?!

  • Pelotudo aprende a hablar bien !!!!

Lesson #1: La casa (the house) hahahaha

You f... Britons, is it so hard for you to learn another language?????

    4 languages = multilingual person

    2 languages= bilingual person

    1 language = ENGLISH PERSON

  • @williamtowers1 see gary lineker, michael robinson....

  • @williamtowers1 Oye - nosotros los ingleses, no somos todos asi. Yo hablo cinco idiomas - ingles, castellano, catalan, frances y aleman.

  • @williamtowers1 That is what happens when you controlled enough of the world to spread your own language across it, to the point where so many people speak English that it is actually not often required to speak anything else. Plus we do learn other languages, French is taught in schools, Latin is being introduced as extra curriculum, the list of examples goes on.

  • @scaryninja1693 You're joking right? Besides three or four large countries...US, UK, Canada and Australia (the latter two with small populations), English is barely spoken anywhere else.

  • @CapitanJusticia English is the most commonly spoken language in the World, and the third largest language overall, surpassed by Chinese and Spanish. English is spoken by millions in Nigeria, South Africa, New Zealand, The Philippines, Ireland, Jamaica and the list just goes on and on. There are more people across the World speaking English than there are English people in the World, and there are more people speaking English in India than in the rest of the World. So no, I'm not joking.

  • @CapitanJusticia

have you been to different countries??

english is spoken by many people around the world, not just a few countries

  • @22may95 So is Spanish.

  • @CapitanJusticia

we didnt mention spanish you put a false claim about the english language and i presented the counter argument.

u have just changed the topic in hand because you know you made a rediculous claim.

  • @22may95 My statement about English being spoken in a handful of big countries stands.

  • @CapitanJusticia Now you're just being an ignorant moron. You have no evidence to support you, mountains of it against you, and all you can say is essentially "la la la, not listening, I'm not wrong you are". Pathetic.

  • @scaryninja1693 I see you have to result to insults, typical English-speaker. Here is my evidence, the only major countries that speak English officially are the US, UK, Canada, and Australia. That's it. Period. Not all Indians or South Africans speak it. And the rest of the countries that speak it are mostly tiny, insignificant islands.

  • @CapitanJusticia "insignificant islands". That could be seen as offensive, however I'm not going to generalise it as behaviour that all of the people of your nation also indulge in, because that would just be an ignorant point of view, close even to racism. "typical English speaker".

You said English is barely spoken elsewhere, but it exists in various amounts across the majority of the World, all of the tiny islands combined make for a lot of people as well.

  • @CapitanJusticia English is not the official language of the US, as it doesn't have an official language.

  • If he is shy then he must have different meaning for the word

  • Que dice que dijo???!!!

  • He started out great and then he sucked. lol

  • Lol, he doesn't know any verbs in Spanish.

  • LOL damn...I can't do any better but it was entertaining watching him speak Spanish. all the "y's" made me laugh.

  • es tu puta la madre

  • His accent was surprisingly good for an englishman. Obviously he could probably have worked harder on his vocabulary, but as previously mentioned here, he was in madrid to play football, not learn spanish...

  • that was wicked bless him! love beckham!

  • dude he should learn the mexican accent now... well he live in LA lol

  • Fantastico! Even has accent sounded quite good there, he's pretty much mastered how to speak Spanish now. Maybe he'll try English next?

  • yeah but not everyone can learn languages, no matter what the training

  • that´s so cute and his voice doesn´t sound that high pitched here...

  • leonardo 5 lingo what a fucking french he has

  • such a shame they let him leave

  • @Rikogarson He left, they offered him a 2 year contract but he declined it and left to the MLS.

  • Thierry Henry speaks English, French, Spanish, and some Italian.

  • go blow henry if u think thats the case

  • LMAO

  • he is the man.

  • He is a good example for us english at least he can be bothered to there language! Im learning french soon and also in proving my grammar.

  • It wasn't a case of him being "bothered to learn their language". He had no choice. Real Madrid insist that every player at the club learns Spanish. And after 4 years of private lessons provided by the club, what atrocious Spanish he speaks.

  • but he speaks fluent italian now

  • he speaks Spanish better than he does English

  • he was there to play football..not learn spanish

  • to play fotball in a new club for several years u have to learn spanish to comuncate with other players. <but in bechams defence he prob speaks a lot spanish, but get putted on the spot at the pres conf

  • @ifonlywecouldfly9 No, he was there to sell shirts for Real Madrid

  • @ifonlywecouldfly9

he is a professional unlike you therefore he knows he should know spanish, dummy.

  • @ifonlywecouldfly9 how about spanish players who play in EPL did they come for football or to learn English. they try and speak english you don't have to talk like that bruh. it's better to learn the language of country you are staying.

  • @ifonlywecouldfly9 he has to, to cooperate and understand his teammates

  • @ifonlywecouldfly9 Oh, when you go to work in another country and you stay there for 4 years, you don't need to learn the official language? I don't knew that...sorry for my english, but I'm from Barcelona

  • he is shy thats all he isnt stupid

  • q majo

  • being there for 4 years he should have made more of an effort

  • i love him

  • hahahaha "muchas gracias it's been un honour"

  • I love when he mixes the english words in.

  • I know he is missing all the accents, but can you guy still understand what he is saying?

  • lol i expected him to know more spanish though, after 4 years because when u take it into consideration it's not really good. Look at Nistelrooy and Robben who came in in 06 and 07 respectively and when they were interviewed at the end of the season they spoke almost perfectly. Robben can already keep a conversation up in spanish like if he's been living in madrid 20 years.

  • apparently beckham has a low IQ, maybe that's why he struggled with his Spanish

  • he has a higher IQ than you moron

  • he is so charming!=D

  • Comment removed

  • No he went away cuz his wife wanted to go shopping and partying in the US.lol.

  • that sucks man he lived in spain for like 10 years and thats all he learned!!!! not too good for england

  • he was at madrid for only 4 years. It's not even half of what you said

  • CR9 speaks very bad english...

  • but atleast trys beckham didnt

  • It's actually not that bad anymore. Nani and Anderson still suck though

  • hahahaha this video makes him surprisingly charming because of his spanish.

  • Hilarious. His Spanish is f'n terrible. Beckham is the man though.

  • ha ha fside! very astute of you i am sure! plus i love the way you talk about ignorance in the same strain as your remarkably unique way of spelling imbecile! or should i say "ibecile" how ironic on reflection; no? ;-)...leave the bloke alone, he doesn't harbour any pretentions over his intelect, so maybe we should give him a break!

  • David Beckham has all the money in the world and yet he is still normal most people become arrogant when they get rich

  • His Spanish was a joke anyway, but when you are a native English speaker everyone speaks English with you everywhere and it's much harder to learn and practice. I perfectly understand he never learnt .

  • I'm from Madrid and from Real Madrid. Beckham was a mediocre player but a very respected professional. He worked hard in every game and he was always a perfect British gentleman, sweet and polite. I prefered him to leave anyway but he was a very nice guy. Much like McManaman. Disappointing on the pitch but nice guys.

  • Init becks! well, you lot are being to hard on him. spanish is a very hard language to learn. At least he aint liek most people who just dont even try. he is trying. some people are good some are even better. if you a cocky, speaking spanish can be really hard.

  • He may not be that good at Spanish, but at least he speaks it better than pretty much the whole of the rest of England.

  • he actually looked a bit disapointed at 0.54 LOL

  • it's been un honor! nice spanglish david haha thick as 2 planks.please don't let me read anymore comments like "ooooh at least he's trying" to live in a country for 3 years and not learn the language is just plain ignorance if you ask me. maybe his ibecile of a wife told him not to because he had to spend his spare time watching the kids while she went shopping

  • you mean imbecile

  • yeah that's what i meant thanks. my typing is just as good as david's spanish

  • Im sorry but somone with the amount of money he has......to be in Madrid for over 3 years...... that is a HORRIBLE level of Spanish he has. Wesley Sneijder and Arjen Robben have been here not even 2 years and they do regular interviews in Spanish at a good level.

  • it's something about the Dutch, they catch on pretty easily. People like Johan Cruyuff even learned Catalan.

  • yeah Dutch ppl has wicked language skills.

  • no es mal eh?

    hahahha<3

  • at least he is trying, questions team does mia hamm has what it takes to play for real mardid and barcelona

  • omg! i speak it like him.hahah:D

  • lol he says Bernabeu with such a London accent.

  • i'm spanish and yes, he says bernabeu in a english version lol

  • hahahahaha....

    at least he tried

  • no Beckham is not bad, its horrible!!!!!

good thing the video has subtittles!!!! lol

just what i was looking for!!!!

  • i think he did pretty well. think of how many spanish players or brazilians come and dont even try to learn the language...they just use translaters meh..

  • I wonder if he's going to even try to learn Italian when he goes to AC Milan XD.

  • Hes onli gonna be there a little while so i doubt it

  • not anymore, i think he'll be staying.

HALA MADRID!!

  • he speeks spanish with a london accent. it's understandable tho.

  • haha he's spanish is like my chinese :P

  • and like your English "he's" :P

  • @quillo19 Ouchhh lmao

  • @yazan277 better than he's english I reckon :P

  • @yazan277 @yazan277 better than he's english I reckon :P

  • lol he sounds like he's speaking english

  • aw what a cutie

  • becks i love you hahahha;pp

  • lool, good one Becks!
