  • If the roof is rotted away, the walls / floors will be in bad condition as well. From my own experience dealing with trashed properties like that, the junk is easy to deal with, the neglect is not. From the video, I would have to say that the structure it's self, is unsaleable. The roof is so degraded, the floors would be as well.

  • @RLS0812 I think you're right about the correlation between the roof and floors. The investor ended up cleaning it out and then selling it to another investor at a higher price then they paid for it. There was a significant amount of work and not much room in the market to do all that work, so I'm not sure what ended up happening to this one. Thanks for the comment.

  • All the stuff in the unopened Target bags (and other store’s bags) could be worth $20 grand, I suppose. If I lived in that "home" and lost my car keys, I wouldn't even try to find them. I would just take the bus until they finally were found. Thanks for posting this video.

  • @montemendoza Thanks for the comment. I feel similar to you. It would be nearly impossible to find car keys in a pile like this.

  • all that talk , when all is had to say was the property needed to be leveled .. I could do his job for him :)

  • @HecticAussie It wasn't leveled though. It was cleaned out and studs were up. Another investor bought it. I'm not sure what happened beyond that. This one was nasty inside though - that's for sure.

  • @HecticAussie This house would be more trouble than it's worth. Tear it all down and bulldoze it alone with the junk.

  • Wow, more like a property that needs to be levelled and cleared, sold for a lot to build something new on, if property alone worth the price. Sometimes it's best to punt.

  • @StatManSteve I hear you about punting. This one had some issues for sure. It was cleaned up and then sold to an investor who was planning to build it out. I bet neighbors are much happier now.

  • I'm no real-estate expert or anything, but from what I've seen it's a shock that anyone in their right mind could even try to live in those conditions. Must be a combo of OCD, major depression, very low self-esteem & I'm guessing some type of major disassociative disorder/ PTSD w/ obvious social anxiety (why else wouldn't you ask for help?); just my opinion. Honsetly, I'd have it demolished & build a whole new structure at the site --- you don't know how many health hazards are present.

  • @edthewicked There are some big psychological issues I bet. I would not want to work on a property like this over time. You are right that there would be some health hazards. That's for sure. My client actually ended up cleaning out the property and then sold it gutted to an investor who will then make this finish the project.

  • Incredible, I have seen homes like that around my area (Harrisburg, PA) and its amazing that people can live in conditions like that with all of that junk inside. Lets hope in all of that junk you find a pile of cash. There was a home in Harrisburg about 10 years ago where it looked just like that. As the home was being cleaned, the people came across piles of money that was taken out in a shopping cart. It made the local news papers. Thanks for sharing your story with Youtube!

  • @Moviemaker242 Thanks for the comment. I haven't asked my client if they found any fat stacks of cash in this one, but maybe I should. :) It's amazing to think there could be such a treasure in the midst of debris. Are you in the real estate field?

  • @lundquistco ur welcome in regards 2 my comment. I have been following real estate for years and back in the mid 90's I got a few homes, then sold them a few yrs later. These days Im into buying cars from auctions 4 resell along w/ buying store returns below wholesale (makesup, over the counter meds, etc). You would b surprised as 2 how many stories r out there where people who hoard like that have valuable items hidden in the garbage. 1 on here, had 1000 of Dvds in home that was cleaned out.

  • @Moviemaker242 It sounds like an adventure. I saw an ad the other day for a new TV show on storage units actually. People buy the contents of the unit blindly and then sift through the contents to see if there is anything worthy. Good luck in your treasure hunting.

  • @lundquistco Thats funny that you mentioned that in regards to storage units, I watch for them and participate in their auctions from time to time thru Auctionzip dot comeI can tell you stories of what I have heard and seen, I even made out a few times. You should check them out in your area, they don't sell for much and you can make some extra monies on the side without much investment. In your state, you should have some great finds. I need to watch for that show you mentioned.

  • @Moviemaker242 Thanks for the tip. :)
