O_o my deaf teachers wouldn't like how he did day if its with the d in it. Thats what it looked like. My ASL careers taught us that the variation isn't widely accepted among deaf when we were discussing asl varations in class. One girl in my asl 1 class did it and our deaf asl teacher said no at her doing it and told her to do it without the d in it. XD it was cute though how he stood to what he didn't know to sign.
@neverjanay are you sure about that? i can understand if a hearing person changes something or they are trying to tell a deaf person a proper sign. i think its more of who taught you sign and where they/you come from. i have a deaf teacher in college that fingerspells "but" and "if" (which i was taught was wrong) but from where she comes from it is correct. so its just where they come from. its more like an "accent" if you will.
@kickingmuli Truth? I don't think I was watching how he was doing that sign too well when I responded. It wasn't a d. There's day and all day sign. I also get a little over enthusiastic about my interpreter studies. I think i was learning about signed systems that day (SEE1, SEE2, Signed english, etc) My mind expands each day as i learn from this past august to over for the next 4 years. Yes there are accents. Our teachers show us the difference. Rewatching the video though is funny and cute XD
The guy in this video, Billy, is my older brother. I think he did a great job on this and I love him very much!!!! He is a straight "A" student, and is very involved with wrestling, we all could learn a lot from him. Great job, I love you!!!!
