this choreography is done by LYLE BENIGA. he is a choreographer from Movement Lifestyle Co. based in California (the US) and is also a choreographer for YG's Big Bang's TAEYANG... along with Shaun Evaristo. Their company choreographed for 2ne1 and Se7en as well. Mad props to Taemin for being able to pic up Lyle's choreography cuz Lyle is a BEAST! :D

@1101G12646 I dunno when he would have done that at all though because for one thing these shows are scripted, but also secondly Taemin isn't very talkative when it comes to variety shows and can sometimes be a little boring so they do take out some of his cuts when editing. It happens to a lot of people, it it's possible that he mentioned it and it was taken out. I dunno. He did the choreo well. As long as Lyle's okay, I'm not complaining.

the reason people have so many problems with this video is the fact that usually when people say: hey, why don't you show us some moves? the general expectation is that you can just freestyle up some combo. If you do someone else's choreo and are just trying to show off technical ability, it should be known, otherwise the general assumption is that you came up with it yourself. In addition, his version can't even hold a candle to Lyle's so i don't know why people are saying he killed it.
It's sad to see that there was no credit given to Lyle Beniga for the cover. Taemin is a good dancer but at the very least, some mention of Lyle should've been made, regardless of the hopefully positive intention. Its great that Taemin thinks highly enough of Lyle's work to want to copy it, but he clearly doesn't think highly enough to mention the original choreographer.
It's sad that the dancer didn't give credit to Lyle Beniga.
Credit is given to where credit is due... otherwise it would be called plagiarism. It doesn't matter if the dancer stated if the choreography was his or not but the fact that the routine he used was part of Lyle's choreography means that he needs to give credit to him. End of story.

Props to him for doing it (although it didn't seem like he was in time). I just hope he gave credit to Lyle Beniga, if he didn't, then I have no respect for people who take other people's credit.

@KarabelleEmery It may be obvious to somebody in the know, but to the general public they're naive and probably won't know any better. And celebrity or not, I've heard incidents of Korean celebrities biting choreographers (Lyle's been a victim on numerous occasions).

does it really matter? Key and Taemin were doing dance covers just before taemin, it doesn't mean Taemin copied it. Did he say that he made it? I don't think so. He was just doing a cover of Lyle Beniga's choreography.

I've seen taemin dance and he's good, but any person who bites off an entire routine loses my respect.
He couldve even changed some parts, but no he just took the whole thing from Lyle.
For all the girls who know nothing about REAL dancers, Lyle is the one who choreographed wedding dress.

@PauloYoon i know what you mean about the entire routine thing =/. he surprised me a lot and taemin's one of my biases but there's a chance that he doesn't even know Lyle invented this dance.. that his choreographer/trainer simply taught him this and he hadn't known at all.
and this isn't necessarily being ignorant, because many idols don't have time to use the internet/watch tv with their schedules.

Okay, so you copied the routine, so? Like others said, he didn't say he came up with the choreo. And he changed it a bit in the second time.. so it really shouldn't bug you that much. @PauloYoon Sorry? I apologize for not using English as my first language, I didn't know it was such a crime. I am not a 'fan girl', so don't just group us all together like that. I don't think that way, I get disappointed when he screws up, sometimes wished he could do better even. And he IS a talented dancer, just because he coped a routine doesn't mean he's not. You're the fan girl, getting so hyped up on this. I watched a video, it was impressive. But Taemin has many other talents, too.
