  • BASKET BALL GOD!

  • Bob costas needs to stop being a smartass

  • and after this JORDAN DYNASTY BEGINS...

  • ahhh i remember vhs

  • The funny thing is he had more assist than Magic. GOAT

  • Damn, Jordan and pippen...dont know what to say!

  • number 1 for the b ball god the day basketball was forever his and the trone was forever his

  • number 1 for the b ball god

  • lol, even though it didnt count at 830 after mj gets fouled he flips it over his head and hits it. unbelievable

  • @TheVillain365 the funny thing is I don't think it was luck. MJ did the same thing earlier that year against Detroit at home. He's done it a few times in his career

  • Jordan's so good it's ridiculous

  • 8:30 When you got it, you got it.

  • For the record, MJ would end the series with some preposterous numbers: 31.2ppg, 6.6 rebs, 11.4 assists, 2.8 steals, 1.4 blocks, 56.64% FG, 50% 3FG and 85% FT).

    holy...how can he did these?!

  • It sounds like there cheering for Jordan.Wouldnt be suprising coming from Laker Fans

  • I like how Jordan outplayed Magic at his own game mixed with a little of his own. lol Crazy points, crazy assists. Jordan > Magic.

  • @Hoopsencyclopedia

" MJ completed his last step to the top of the mountain from where he would remain forever."

Forever? Dpnt be a nigger loving idiot. I believe Shaq, dunca and KOBE took those spots in subsequent years. Do you picture yourself getting tit-banged by MJ in your dreams and then masturbate to said dreams?

  • @MrYoyoma33 What exactly is your beef with that statement?..

  • Hoopsencyclopedia, fitting. I still can't believe those series numbers. Dam.

  • Magic Johnson: "There's Michael Jordan and then there is the rest of us." Enough said!

  • just look at all the detail into the intro and storyline. ABC/ESPN take a lesson.

  • Now the Jordan bulls are the Old Bulls.

  • Kobe is a good player, but he is no Jordan. Jordan never got sweep in the Conference Finals, like the Lakers just did, lol.

  • Phil Jackson helped killed the Lakers' dynasty in the 80's, but then resurrected them in the 2000's. Now it's a possibility that Jackson could be facing his former Bulls squad to get his 12th championship and finally retire. As a Bulls fan, as much as I loved Phil and what he did for Jordan and Chicago, I hope it doesn't happened if the Lakers play us.

  • I think Jack Nicholson was actually routing for the Bulls that time :)

  • i see it with drose!

  • ill always respect magic but godddd was that not the ugliest pass ever attempted at 2:21 haha

  • jack nicholson always there

  • Damn Kobe was 6-24 in his closeout game WOW

  • why phil jackson leaves the chicago bulls? because he had no jordan anymore??

  • @slatz20 yep true and he left LA because he didn't wanna coach Kobe anymore, lol

  • @slatz20 No. The Bulls GM at the time Jerry "Fuckhead" Kraus didn't want him or the team back in 99. He told Phil I don't care of you go 82-0 you're not coming back. He had a huge ego and he wanted to build his own championship team from scratch. He didn't draft Jordan and he wanted to win titles without MJ proving he could do it. His drafting of Grant and trade for Pippen and Cartwright was just never enough for his huge ego.

  • Love the Miami vice theme.

  • beautiful

  • Jordan was POSSESSED!!! Watching this reminded of his perfection on the court. Perfect instincts. Perfect skill. Perfect team player (dump off to Pax in the final minute). There will never be another.

  • nobody will be as good as Jordan. 1 reason being is because young players these days get so much money and endorsements before they even play a single game in the NBA. when something has been given something so easy, they wont work as hard for it. Jordan did because it wasn't like that in early 80's. You had to work your ass off just to have a shoe contract with nike, which Jordan earned, not offered!

  • @colinv01 In all fairness, Jordan started the whole shoe and endorsement deal craze.

  • The only championship the Bulls did not win in game 6

  • Jack Nicholson @ 9:28. "You know what Phil, you really are a piece of ***king shh**. Enjoy you ring a****le." lmao

  • @Grobertown hahahahaha I know right probably said go kill yourself :D

  • @Grobertown lmao

  • WTF was that??!! lol @ 7:23?? Jordan is a f***ing monster. How does he do that??

    G.O.A.T

  • A true legend

  • 8:26

  • jordan is the best

  • Block! Fantastic defensive play and excellent pass to Scottie Pippen!!

If any player from Brazil played half that Jordan played, I'd be happier.

Pippen and Jordan the greatest duo of all time.

  • only people who never saw his Airness play (i'm talking about in the moment not youtube videos) would think that kobe is a better player

statistics don't even come into it

  • When it comes down to it in the late 80's and 90's it could be argued that there was no better defender or rebounder than denis Rodman, except for one exception, MICHAEL J. The greates offensive force. "Michael Jordan was the greates defensive player of our ERA" Sir Charles Barkley, arguably greatest power forward ever.

  • Kobe is not blessed with Jordan's athleticism. He does not have monster size hands. He's not as strong as Michael Jordan. He's not as quick as Michael Jordan. Jordan could read the court better. Micahel Jordan was a more agressive defender. Michael Jordan was a better passer. Kobe does a lot with what he has been given. However Michael Jordan's drive an passion is on another level then anyone I have ever seen. I began seriously following Jordan in 1986! I've watched them both. Jordan is the BEST

  • Wow anyone who ever says Kobe is even close to this guy hasn't seen games like this. Either too young or too dumb.

  • 8:28 - It didn't count, but WTF???? I love how the commentators just casually say "it went it, but it won't count"....failing to mention it was a one handed over the shoulder backwards shot from 15ft....I guess with MJ that is just ordinary.

  • kobe sucks he just copied MJ

  • @ 8:02 the ENTIRE..I repeat the ENTIRE 5 player Laker team (including Magic) tried to stop MJ's graceful move to the bucket...GREATEST TO EVER PLAY THE GAME (PERIOD)...repeat GOAT

  • Comment removed

  • dammit can you people stop mentioning kobe?! if you're watching this i expect you to already know mj's the greatest to ever touch a ball

  • 8:30....wow

  • 31.2ppg, 6.6 rebs, 11.4 assists, 2.8 steals, 1.4 blocks, 56.64% FG, 50% 3FG and 85% FT).

    damn.

  • Whats with all the kobe/jordan comparisons? Both players are great in their own eras. There will never be another Jordan but there will also never be another Kobe. Both of them are incredibly skilled and dedicated players. Let them be.

  • @DetectiveBlacksmith I love kobe. He's an amazing player. However not comparing the two. Jordan is The GOAT. Isaiah Thomas says he makes us look like highschool kids, playing a adult. Kobe is an amazing shooter, and creative player. But he's not as athletic as jordan. Give him Jordans athleticism and you may have a debate. since not, Case Closed! JORDAN

  • @Bragadoshis I agree he's not as athletic as Jordan is but Kobe in my eyes is a better natural shooter than Jordan was. TBH, they both have a similar game but at the same time they are 2 different players with the same competitive drive. I look at it as 2 great players from 2 different eras of basketball rather than focusing on who has what and who doesnt have what. Watch, as soon as Kobe has been retired for 8+ years, everyone is gonna start comparing him and Kevin Durant in the same light.

  • @DetectiveBlacksmith

If you think Kobe is a better shooter than Jordan, you are sadly mistaken.

Jordan has a superior mid-range game than Kobe.

MJ's back to the basket fadeaway is way above Kobe's level.

Here are some MJ jumpshot vids, watch them all and learn something.

    /watch?v=RGa1s2k9MO4&feature=related

    /watch?v=cbK1VpQf7XM

    /watch?v=9q8B_L2P72o

Watch them and realize that saying Kobe has a better jumper than MJ is absolutely ludicrous.

  • 5:48. i love how MJ looks to the ref. he should know the nba and david stern love the lakers. ask tim donaghy

  • And this is the difference between Lebron and Michael. Lebron wanted to take the easy way out; as Jordan stuck it through, performing his hardest game in and game out and making good shot selections.

  • even if kobe wins more title he still wont be better than mj i bet mj can still beat kobe

  • F***ING PHIL JACKSON, WHEN JACK NICHOLSON IS GETTING CLOSER TO CONGRATULATE HIM, HE JUST SAY THANK YOU AND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE LEAVES....... 9:28 MNS.

  • Neat pregame commentary by Bob Costas, tying the '91 Bulls with those 70s teams.

  • Back when Phil Jackson was on the good side of the Lakers court.

  • Rukawa's master!!! Always love to see Michael Jordan in red jersey in the yellow floor of Great Western Forum.

  • kobe lebron wade......1 ringers as leader of their team at best......there nvr will be another MJ .....he is basketball at its best, most intense.....props to pippen for sticking wid MJ despite being as efficient as MJ minus the creativity

  • Michael Jordan # 1 for ever!!!

  • thats an example game to show how good michael was... smooth

  • Look how young phil jackson looks LOL

  • @MagicJBalla21 : jerry sloan has the most depressing life in world history.

  • LOL @ JAck Nicholson when the game ended. always been there

  • Those Infrared's are fireeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • Hey Hoops can you tell me if at 3:56 if MJ travels,he moves his pivot foot,i have seen MJ do this a few times too.

  • @One7823 technically it is a travel, but he is MJ, and his movement is so fast that you cant see the travel. He moved his pivot and put the ball on the floor at the same time. You won't be able to see the travel without slow motions.

  • did they just cut off ahmad

  • forgot about 8:30 is has been awhile since I watched this game. Have it on tape somewhere..

Forgot how dominant this Bulls team was. Only lost 2 games the whole playoffs on last second threes. They were out for blood!

  • Nice

  • 8:30 jiji

    the goat

  • 5:20 and 5:32

    Nice block by Michael Jordan.

    Awesome

  • Comment removed

  • fuck kobe, he aint shit

  • Wow.. Michael Jordan.. (y) simply the best.. HE NEVER GIVE UP! That's what made him the best of the best.. I'm inflence by him.. :D

  • Both Pip and MJ played all 48 minutes

  • Kobe is not better than Jordan. Never will be.

  • @mickeyelsalsero kobe and jordan ????? i just say jordan got more points more rebounds more assists more steals and more bloks more mvps and more championships...nothing more to say

  • @gusyrocks more dunk titles, rookie of the year, higher career average, the list goes on.

  • @mickeyelsalsero Neither will LeBron

  • Dwight Howard is better!!!!!!

  • People fail to remember that hand checking was legal in the Jordan era. If hand checking was still legal, Kobe wouldnt be putting up 1/2 the points he does.

  • you big dummy what made you think that ? kobe shit on scottie pippen when was 19 years old .. and this was during the handchecking .. your logic is flaw homie ..

  • Look at Kobe's career stats and notice their eerie reliance on that rule change:

    2003-2004: 24ppg, 44% shooting

    2004-2005: 27.6ppg, 43% shooting

    HANDCHECK RULE CHANGE

    2005-2006: 35.4ppg, 45% shooting

    2006-2007: 31.6ppg, 46% shooting

Kobe was a great player before the handchecking change, but his best years all happened after. Shaq left before the 04-05 year, so it wasn't just that.

And he was never close to as efficient as MJ. MJ shot 54% during the 90-91 year.

  • kobe put up 15- 18 pts during the handchecking era this is the numbers he put up as a bench player .. kobe scoring numbers had increase once he end up with role players that werent reliable to hit their shots.. shaq was gone and he become the number one option to score .. thats why his numbers went up the roof not because of the rules .. he sure didnt benefit from today defense

  • Except that Shaq left before the 04-05 season and Kobe only managed 27.6ppg. His career high at that point was 30, which he averaged with Shaq on the team. So the relevant factor was not merely Shaq's presence.

And no one is saying that Kobe couldn't score before handchecking. The point is that his biggest scoring seasons, the ones that approached MJ output, happened after the rule change.

Apply a similar factor to MJ's stats and you would see a leap from 37ppg->what? 45?

  • lol... you not reading the x factor that i have stated you cannot allowed yourself to hide from the truth .. kobe was the number one option in his team to score and plus was jacking more than 20 fg attempts at that time he was winning the scoring title .. if a man put up 45 % of his shots while attempting 25 shots .. how many points you think he going to get ? not less than 25 pts plus you also have to include free throws this is a simple math that most cant understand

  • I don't really understand your point. We're comparing MJ to Kobe. Lett's compare a couple seasons:

    Kobe, 05-06: 35.4ppg, 45% shooting on 27.2 shots/game, 10.2 FT/game

    MJ, 87-88: 35.0ppg, 54% shooting on 24.2 shots/game, 10.5 FT/game

Those were just two years in which they happened to score the same. Notice that MJ shot 9% better, that's a significant difference.

Kobe didn't do as well as Jordan even with the defensive 3sec and handchecking rules.

  • you are right about that .. that because kobe settle for more contested jumpshots than jordan .. kobe is more talented than mj but not better cause mj relied oon his iq to beat his opponent .. mj is the goat i will give him that at the sametime just like anybody else he sure did have his share of asswhoopin

  • Comment removed

  • wrong most players rarely use handchecking in the past .. have anyone have seen the recorded games ?

  • Do you actually know what handchecking is?

All you have to do is watch the clips of this series. Both Pippen and Jordan hand check the hell out of Magic. Watch every time he's backing one of them down, you'll see plenty of it.

Now that you can't play that way, PGs don't back in. The back down was to keep the defenders hands from the ball. Now they have to stand back, so PGs are free to march up the court uninterruped.

  • It's so very ironic that you post a comment below a video with tons of examples of handchecking.

There's obviously no point in trying to talk to you, so enjoy your land of stupidity, I will do my best to avoid it.

  • I enjoy reading impotent brats who think their childish taunts actually affect anything in the world. You're silly, frivolous, and ignorant.

Why do you think they changed the handchecking rules? Because scoring was too low. Hmm, let's follow the logic: if scoring was too low, and you wanted it to be higher, would you change the rule to make it easier or harder to score?

I know it will take a while for your pea-brain to sort that out, but the whole point was to make offenses flow.

  • Actually locksmith you dont know shit about basketball because players ( such as Michael Jordan) that played throught the 80s to 2000 say the defense back then was stronger as well as analysts. You tell Charles Barkley that Kobes Lakers are stronger than the Bad Boy Pistons. Hed bitch smack your dumb ass. Apparently you know more though

  • there's quite a huge difference actually. more skilled perimeter players? it's easier to look more skilled when guys don't have their hands all over you and when the lane is wide open to penetrate through.

  • lakers did have some injury issues in this series it's true. but jordan's injuries didn't seem to slow him down too much. as far as kobe...def. a top 10 player of all time and maybe top 5 (especially after he cements himself and his legacy after he wins another ring tonight) but better then jordan?...no

  • Any mention here that the lakes were racked by injury in this series?

  • um I like kobe's game but he is not even close to MJ, Kobe is now 30 and seems like he has lost a step since last year.

  • Kobe will NEVER be as good as jordan and its not up for debate either

  • thats debatable

  • Is it that hard for you jordan lackeys to admit there is a new sheriff in town, and his name is kobe

  • he can be sherfiff of todays nba but dont compare him to the greatest.

This could be the first tittle for Kobe as a team leader so dont compare it to Jordans 6.

  • Then don't compare Jordan's 6 with Russell's 11.

  • for you kobe lackeys..kobe is already in his 13th season yet only HELPED the lakers to 3 titles..jordan LED the bulls to 6 titles in his 14-year career with the team..

  • That's bullsh*t man, Kobe didn't even start his 1st 2 seasons, it is debatable although MJ is the GOAT..to discredit what Kobe has done is just pure hate.

  • that sheriff needs more artillery if he wants to be like MJ

  • kobe stole jordan stroke as everything else.

Kobe copied jordan to too scary point.

He's like much worse version of MJ

  • stfu

  • only jordan and his Bulls got cheers at away games......

  • to me Jordan had better stroke thank Kobe

  • Kobe's stroke is similar to Jordan's therefore Kobe is not original so Jordan has a better stroke...lets not talk about LeBron yet cuz he doesnt quite have a stroke yet.

  • 9:29 Jack Nicholson congratulating Phil Jackson on riding Jordan's coattails.

After 5 more championships he would move on to LA where he would ride Shaq and Kobe's, only to retire and then ride Kobe's again

  • Haha, ok. I guess Red Auerbach is a crappy coach because he only won with Russell.

Pat Riley won 5 titles with Kareem and Magic, then won another with Wade and Shaq, does that make him a coattail rider?

Or how about Popovich? He's only won with Duncan.

All you've done is point out that good players are necessary to win a championship. SHOCKING!

  • what do you think , who has sweeter shooting stroke, between these players, reggie miller, ray allen, kobe brayant, allan houston, glen rice and Jordan?

  • Woow MJ sure was the GOAT

  • What the hell?! They could've been perfect?!

  • lol i wonder how many times albert said "gorgeous move" on air in his career?

  • The Best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be. JORDAN.

  • what do you think , who has sweeter shooting stroke, between these players, reggie miller, ray allen, kobe brayant, allan houston, glen rice and Jordan?

  • marv albert look like a simpson at 1:56 lol

  • and do remember. This guy was also a slam dunk contest winner. He did it all.

  • 4:25 infrared's baybee!!

  • I remember watching this series, i was 12...and i said to my friends at the time....jordan....the bulls....and coach jackson....They are our Dynasty

  • This is one of my two remaining Championship videos left. ('91 and '97)

    The rest sadly got eaten.

I love 8:29. Best shot in the game. lol. That was a sign of destiny.

Great game, I still watch the championship run video of all 6.

  • MJ really made everything look so incredibly easy... even the no-look shot that didn't count.

Love this and other MJ videos that are up... thanks for uploading and bringing back all the great memories!!

  • Damn..look at the move at 7:29..he got somebody plus the hangtime to get the shot off..

  • before michael, none of those bulls mattered, except maybe sloan.

  • häääää whaattt?? the bulls played in the western conferencee??? whyy?? does anyone knows ???

  • What the hell are you on about mate? They're in the Eastern Conference. Always have been

  • Who the hell says "mate"?

  • English and/or Australian people generally. How naive are you "mate"? Never heard of the word "mate" and unaware of the fact that the Bulls play in the Eastern Conference! Geeeez

  • The Bulls played in the Western Conference until 1980...Midwest Division to be exact.

  • I forget sometimes just how dominant Jordan was. The dude took over series. Its amazing how one man can just score anytime he wanted to. Thats why he's the greatest.

  • what do you think , who has sweeter shooting stroke, between these players, reggie miller, ray allen, kobe brayant, allan houston, glen rice and Jordan?

  • Wow good question Soundtrack1000. As far as shooting stroke I would have to go with Ray Allen in that department. He really makes it look easy. Now Allan Houston and Michael Jordan had nice shooting strokes too but not as sweet as Allen's. Glen Rice and Reggie Miller had more unconventional shots. There shooting styles weren't very smooth in my opinion.

  • Now if we are talking deadliest shooters I would have to go with Reggie Miller and Michael Jordan all the way. Those guys when the game is on the line will cut your heart out every time. Kobe has a nice shooting style too but his shot is too much like Jordan. Figure That!!!!

  • 7:19-7:23 is insane.

  • Yeah he was double, triple teamed, and pulled the ball DOWN on DESCENT and still pulled it off.

  • That end-to-end move by dunk was sick!

  • MJ is simply in league of his own. Kobe has a ways to go to be like Mike!

  • I have one message for all the Kobe lovers. When Michael Jordan was on the court, there was never a question in anyone's mind who the best player was on the court. That includes, Reggie, Shaq, Charles, Ewing, Penny, Grant Hill, Magic, Larry, Clyde, DRobinson, Malone, Stockton....you get the point. Fact is, this year's Finals I dont think you can say that Kobe was the best player on the court with the performance that Paul Pierce had. On top of that Kobe won with Shaq--best player on the court

  • true that! whenever jordan played away the crowd and home team bench would clap or cheer when michael made shots. everyone was on his nuts let alone question if the were better than him.the hate kobe everywhere but l.a.

  • I like Kobe and i'm in Phoenix..

  • Jordan in his prime is a beast.

  • what a fadeaway.

  • This is unbelievable to watch. The Lakers are about to lose the series 4-1 on their homecourt and in the last couple minutes you see the crowd exploding every time Jordan hits a bucket. This has to be unprecedented in sports history.

  • true, lakers are a dynasty..but theres only ONE jordan..and he revolutionized the game. No laker has done that.

    Even your kobe copies MJ...

  • true dat lakers have more rings but the lakers always had great players wilt, jerry west, magic, james worthy, kareem, and etc the lakers were winning way before magic. jordan alone gave an entire franchise no city hope

  • Nice to see hoops make reference to the injured toe, showing MJ's will is greater than pain.

  • haha, what's this hater doing putting comments on this video. It's not even about the lakers losing, it's about a tribute to Michael Jordan. Great players playing each other, and Michael Jordan happened to be on top this time. But yes, the lakers are a beast of a franchise, no one is going to take that away from them, so just chill.

  • 8:14 best comment... he goes wherever he wants to on the basketball court

  • I'll say this, he's the greatest of all time because he can do it all. Great on the offensive end as well as great on defense. I love watching him play defense.

  • heh...9:29 Jack Nicholson..Best NBA fan EVER!

  • that shot at 8:29 says it all even though it didnt count.

  • amazing at how much talent he has that he doesn't have to look the hoop and just shoots it like nothing else

  • Jordan in his prime.

  • shuddup idiot watch and cry. Kobe could never have games like these

  • current bulls haven't even hit their peak yet

    lol @ this stan

  • like I said before, the bulls always have, will, and currently SUCK. Until the bulls get another championship, you just sit back, relax, take you a cold one, and wish, better yet pray, that the bulls even dream about the playoffs. Can you say the word, CHOKE!

  • I'm guessing "99" is the year you were born rellshon, since you write like a 9-year-old
