  • To have a lot of fun (although an FAA examiner would be pissed) fly a larger airplane, and have some of the seats behind the cockpit removed.

Then, have a person lie down on the floor of the cabin and pull off a barrel roll, there's some fun. Just don't unload at the top!

  • @VIR092

or have a person hold on to the wing while doing a roll...

  • @dabb LOL, now there's an idea!

  • @VIR092 we did it last year, here is my video of it: /etqcZ-sFhx4

  • " I met Bob Hoover in 2002 in Oshkosh airshow "

Yeah not even gonna bother flaming. I'll just admit my jealousy.

  • Bob Hoover? Is he the one doing the 1G roll in a Lear with the engines cut off?

  • @hrc1966

To my knowledge, (I have read his biography and met him), he did this manouver in an piston engined Aerocommander and never with the engines shut off. That is a misunderstanding. He may have done it as it is no different. But there is no video of him doing this trick with the engines off.

  • @dabb Around 2000 I saw a video of a pilot in, what I recall as a gliding Lear doing just that manouver. I'm probably wrong or else the pilot wasn't Bob. I'll try to find the book about him (didn't know there were any). Wikipedia writes that the engines were restarted after landing.

  • the amazing thing is that every one of us that has tried this saw bob hoover before haha.

  • OK wise guy...hats off to YOU! Great job.

  • Very smooth mate...very smooth indeed!

  • Don't drink and drive!!!

  • Love it! Well done. That took some skill.

  • Great video. Looks like you had too much fun making it!!!

  • Great homage to the master!

  • Hoover does it much slower though, which is more difficult

  • wonder how many times he spilled his drink before he got it right

  • One flight, couple of takes, no spill

  • im ignorant on the subject. so why's that the water doesnt spill?? can you explain to me, or someone?

  • Excellent 5 Stars *****

  • I imagine that could really screw with your avionics if you accidentally missed and soaked the instrument panel. Very impressive video...great job!

  • Wonderful job! And very appropriately named!

  • Magnifico!

  • love it!

  • is that a yak -t-18?? Nice job, that can get messy for sure is you slip. He only said its the Bob Hoover maneuver, which RJ made famous on original video. ANd he did it perfectly-a one g barreling roll. Yes, RJ did it in the shrike and 8 pointed it sometimes, his first vid was a non point roll tho. I do a variation-throw a tennis ball up and keep it in floating above the panel. Great and non messy way to learn it. (that one is zero g)

  • lol -awesome!

  • we were about to take off today and my instructor told me to look up your video. thats crazy man, what plane are you flying?

  • Trench, piss off, my original birthplace isn't the united states so I have a little trouble with English. I'm sure the owner of this video doesn't want stupid slurs like this in his video anyway.

  • Yes and it's not with the engine shut off.

    Don't try it.

  • Wow...just wow lol

  • Awesome man, I'm working to get my VFR private pilots liscence. Just short about 5 grand =)

  • It's basically a barrel roll, isn't it?

  • yes, but its not the point of the trick. Its pouring a liquid into a glass while doing a barrel roll.

  • and trying 2 get at least 1G taht way it dosn't spill everywhere

  • To have the gravity do its job, do you just roll it, or do you roll it AND force the stick forward to induce the downward force?

  • ..I pull the stick backwards. You would spill the drink if you push the stick forward:)

  • HAHA okay I gotcha'. Thanks.

  • Mate, that was some cool flying. I'll never cease to be amazed at the substitutes that surface when someone posts a video that they have no hope of understanding, let alone repeating.

    Nice flying.

  • I can't believe it, he never said he was better than Bob. I think it was great.

You can't copy someone 100%, bringing that up is just plain non-sense.

  • Awesome!

  • not quite as good as bob hoover, but still very, very, very impressive. bob hoover was quite possibly one of the best pilots ever, so even being able to pull off the moves that he did deserves a lot of credit.

  • lol that was cool;

  • how bout everyone leave this dude alone and see if you can go do it

  • Try shutting down your number two engine engine next time. I didn't see a sixteen point roll either... I still enjoyed it though, fly safe.

  • haha nice work, its not a shrike commander or whatever hoover flew but good effort none the less

  • try it while steering with your butt cheeks

  • thanks for posting this - looks like you're having fun there. Of course I see they serve ice in their soda in Iceland.

  • I agree ...but still a nice atempt,

  • good but never a good as the first to accomplish something

  • Not bad, but Bob never had his cup taped to the compass.

  • YEAH---try that in a twin engine business aircraft. Then try it with both engines shut off !!

  • neblogai neblogai :)

  • Hahaha, that's great, have to say though, I think bob hoover did it better. :P
