  • Hello! That is some fine picking. What tune is that you are playing? Nice.

As to the tenor guitar -- yes that is a tenor guitar. The tenor guitar was "invented" in the 1920's to provide tenor banjo players with an insturment that they could use in classic and semi-classic music. Thus the first tenors were tuned the same as the tenor banjo CGDA. -- or an octave and a fifth below the mandolin. You have raised yours a fifth. Which is also done frequently. Great video.

  • The tune is called "Master Crowleys". I learned it from my accordion book.

  • You're rockin' that homemade tenor, bud.

  • It's lovely! I think you can play the mandolin as well, aren't you?:-)

  • Thank you very much. I do play the mandolin every once in a while. But the little frets drive me nuts.

  • If I invented anything it's "the poor man's tenor guitar"!

  • Good, because I am a poor and so is my playing.

  • Nice playing, Arsonic. Great music and you invented a new musical instrument! great stuff all the way.
