@popcornman10 If your talking about the first trick then this is what happens. When the vinigar and baking soda mix, it creates a chemical reaction that makes CO2. I kept the CO2 in the cup by blocking it with my hand. When I tipped over the cup the CO2 mixed with the flame a extinguished it by taking away oxygen. One of the three things you need for a fire.

@leonardtownyanks carbon dioxide has oxygen in it....thats why smoke is black (or grey) because of the release of carbon (C2) it was the force of the wind that blew it out

@leonardtownyanks you dont need to block the cup with your hand, co2 is denser then air and does not rise

@leonardtownyanks It also helps to know that CO2 is denser than oxygen so it "pours" into the fire. You didn't have to cover the cup because the CO2 wouldn't really escape.
