They don't want a therapist or a nutritionist, because CPS gets more money from tax money (I've heard 80-85 thousand) for each kid that they adopt out of the home. Unless that child is being denied of what is necessary to biologically live, he should not be moved. Why don't they take parents out of the home of ppl whose homes smell of cigarets? Isn't 2nd hand smoking a health issue? Kids can lean the behavior & pick it up & pick up cancer too. Should those kids be removed too?
How can they ensure that the foster home can create an environment suitable to help this kid. Personally over eating is a form of coping. We all have vices. Food is just one of many.
And Whoopi's wrong, it is the GOVERNMENT's right to make that call, it is the government's right to make that call if there is a form of abuse or negligence going on at home, if they feel the parents/the household isn't doing enough to save a child's life.
These women have no idea what they're talking about, in an ideal situation an obese child would be able stay at home and get healthier; however, in some situations it is important for a child to be taken out of the environment, to learn new habits, and then return home. I'm not sure about this case, I'm not sure if "foster care" is the correct option, but I do think that parents (esp mothers) need to realize it's not about them. Sometimes a child must be taken out of the enviro...

It's just as unhealthy for a 3rd grader to be 200 lbs as it is starved.
