@dandrumz1 Ruin? Not really. Big drum sampler company such as Toontrack, Fxpansion, etc sample their drums with high end gears and in high end room studio. Sometimes they sampled the snare with 3 mics and each mic can cost thousand bucks.

Like in this video Teddy is using a 14x5.5 Paul Liem signature snare from Yamaha. It's clearly the drumhead he's using and the snare material has a lot to do with it too.

@Moog168 It's actually not entirely about heads and tuning. Like you said, the snare material has a lot to do with it. I'm wondering if a maple or steel snare is going to cover me better for that sort of a sound and what size will handle this tuning the best.

@XxStrongDrums1996xX Paul Liem's snare is Chrome over Brass also personally I like 14x6.5 snares. They just give that body while if you tune them up they cut and pop without sacrificing tone.

I my opinion he is the best drummer around right now. His groove is unbelievable and his fills are so tasteful. I know he can do the crazy shit that Tony Royster jr. and Aaron Spears do, but Teddy Campbell just has the most tasteful grooves and fills.

wow as much as i love metal i cant not watch people like teddy cambell and aron spears play. i know metal has insane speed and blast beats but these guys are more inspirational im my eyes. they are just as fast but play in such a deep pocket with the most intense cymbal work and feeling that it makes me wish i could play like them. but i dont got that pocket and syncopation down like they do. it makes me jealous.

They just play a simple beat and they may throw in a couple of fills like one or two. Not alot of stuff in there but the beat it rhythmic and groovy. One you can bob your head to.
