Studio looks cool-Its a pity brink was rushed/flawed. If they would have had extra time to fix a few bugs/issues in the game, then they would have had a hit.
Brink could've been a lot more solid if it actually had some kind of story for the SP instead of just multiplayer maps....for single player. It would've been cool to pick a character from the start and gain experience, weapons, etc, throughout some kind of campaign, but you'd then be looking several extra years of development!
@Techn0neko Yeah, i regret buying Brink. I should have waited after a week to buy it since it went down to $20 after that >_>
They failed to make the game work, it was broken from the start. I am still very disapointed with SD, followed the game for two years before it was released.
It sounded amazing and had an enthralling story. Unfortunately, what they were trying to do (blend single player and multiplayer) was a little avant garde. Besides, they really didn't innovate on delivery of the story as much as they needed to to make that style of game work. However, that doesn't change the fact that BRINK was the most beautiful game I've ever seen.
And that’s the reason I don’t look forward to what SD does next. They lost me there, because too many things did not match my taste and thoughts on gaming etc.
I will still track them; but looking forward? No.
W:ET was perfect. ET:QW was great in most aspects, but had some issues and was not really well received.
Brink was fucked up for me. Tons of issues which lead me to not play, buy or care anymore. Sadly.
@Kissaki0 I still play ET:QW PC. European servers are still well-populated.
Brink was awesomely designed, artistically brilliant, and if it had had a solid SP campaign it would have done very well. Launching a new IP geared toward MP in an already cluttered market of established IPs was a massive mistake, IMHO, especially for the console crowds of CoD, BF and HALO.
It should either have been MP, PC exclusive. Not a lot of money in that. =(
Or solid singleplayer to establish itself on console. =)
@Kissaki0 It topped the UK sales charts for 360, it wasn't a flop sales-wise on anything but PS3. But retaining and attracting players? Nah. Solid singleplayer will at least carry gamers over and tempt them to, when they've done all they can offline in a compelling singleplayer, to clicking that MP button and seeing how good they really are. {=D
@UnitedKingdomify Well for the record Im in the US and Im a console/PC Gamer coming out of the closet lol and Im picking up Brink for the PC this Thursday. I truly believe in what Slash Damage is working toward and I know they will achieve it within their next few installments as long as there is the support from the players and the continued dedication from the team. Keep it up guys lets break the mold!!!

RICHARD SHAVED HIS BEARD! Also I have to agree BRINK wasn't as good as I thought it would be and was NOT worth the 60$ preorder.

I truly hope SD does a BRINK Redux.

Keeping a team relatively small is a good thing.
Unfortunately, that does not help if you still take the wrong decisions.

I was so disappointed in Brink. I'm looking forward to what SD does next. Keep it classy Jimmys.
