  • Wow. I am on my 2nd day of yoga (using a DVD as a guide) and I had no idea what a great workout it is. I was sweating within the first 5 minutes but was relatively pleased with my balance and endurance.

  • When I do the Downward dog pose, I cant get my back straight.. its always curved up what do I do?

  • @KillTheKillers1 keep your back straight before you do it and when you bend down try and grab your toes first. after you loosen your muscles it will be easier to do it

    Thank you for posting; this is truly a most beautiful experience. Your yoga practice helped with the cleansing of cellular tissue that had built up emotional memory stored with in your body. The yoga practice helped you opened up the heart chakra. When this happened I didn't hold back, and felt the spine snake freeing itself from my infuence . A most wonderful experience. I had this happened to me after my first year of yoga practice, and it has been different ever since.

  • i've got arthritis so i really wanted to try yoga to help increase flexibility and strength in my joints, but i only got about half way through this routine before i had to stop. this is a comment on MY fitness level, NOT a criticism on the routine. i will be trying again though, so wish me luck! :) S*

  • I gave up after 5mins too hard and I cant do it as I am not flexible as I have too much muscle. I guess it was worth a try but I might as well stick with what I am good at and thats lifting heavy weights, I would never be flexible!

  • @MORBIDslushie In the beginning that would be normal enough. Keep practicing it and you will be more balanced and less shaky soon.

  • @MORBIDslushie Yes, it is. Yoga helps with balance and strength over time. You may also find that a class with a good instructor who will help you focus on body positioning would help. While videos are great, they can't help you know that your feet, back, etc., are really positioned correctly. Once you've gotten some of those basics, then the video becomes even more effective.

  • @MORBIDslushie Your problem could also be that your core or stomach muscles aren't tight. If your core muscles are tight, you have more balance and control over your body.

  • @MORBIDslushie It helps if you lose weight. Yoga is easier when you're thin. Plus, everyone in the class will be more likely to enjoy looking at you if you're not obese.

  • @1xXxIceGirlxXx1 it is normal, trust me. let your body rest a little between poses and have one day a week were you do not do any yoga and just let your body rest. rest is the best thing for your body while doing yoga. remember not to over work your body or you will hurt all the time. hope that helps you :)

  • @MsShadylady100 Now I don't have a definite answer to your question but I do know that there are some stretches that make you produce more growth hormones. You should be able to find more information, just google it.

  • @MsShadylady100 Contrary to what the above answer said, yoga can help you stretch and strengthen your muscles. It works on postural muscles which helps you to sit taller and straighter. Don't expect it to stretch you out 3 or 4 inches, but maybe an inch or two depending on your current postural status.

  • This kind of yoga is what is actually called asanas, or postures. It's not real yoga (understanding of the universe and the nature of action and when one should practice inaction).

  • ok for everyone whos all like this is to hard waahhhhhh, im a chunky 15 year old this isnt that hard. I can barely sit cross legged cause my hips are so bad and I can do all this just fine. Quit thinking about your cake and cookies every time you try it and you'll be just fine.

  • Great video. I haven't done yoga in years and boy am I out of shape. Question while doing dog pose and when I got up I got dizzy. What did I do wrong?

  • @sandra666 You probably got up too quickly or weren't breathing evenly.. I'm not an expert or anything but that's what it sounds like.

  • @sandra666 When you get up to fast your blood doesn't flow as fast as you got up so it causes you to get dizzy it happens to me all the time when i get up from laying down. no big deal you did nothing wrong.

Keeps it short and accessible so I can realistically fit a small session in every day without imposing on my time and other responsibilities too much.
