  • This is more of a Samhain song and I like the goth in it

  • this song is a soundtrack for summoning a deamon

  • @FnRnMr yea thats what the song is used for ...my dad use to listen to this when he was a satanist =O

  • the words in Latin is that like satist stuff

  • PicklePuffs26 is cool.

  • I'm taking Latin cause my dad made me. I didn't realized I would now semi understand this song and a scene from the Exorcist. Yessssssss.

  • o.0 this sounds like a demented verison of Halloween. Awesome drumming.

  • Metamorphoses lycanthropie, Possunt inquam = To morph into a wolf, I must say

  • MISFITS = GODS

  • mmmhm creepy

  • I actually have an original pressing of the 7" vinyl of this!

  • @EvilDrFish me too i found it at a record store in austin, tx, there's nothin quite like vinyl

  • lol the misfits are so scary. They were very risky for doing stuff like this though

  • really weird. i like it a lot. it seemed kind of out of place when it was in Zombie's Halloween.

  • I love both Halloweens!

  • For "Metamorphosis Lycanthropie" I think it might mean changing into a werewolf. Metamorphosis= to change; Lycanthropie= Werewolf (lokus= wolf anthrōpos=man in Greek)

  • great classic underplayed Misfits song. thanks for posting...

  • You're welcome!

  • @PicklePuffs26 what language are they singing in?

  • @starkiller20293 an old type of latin

  • @philaboston What awesome radio station do you listen to that plays misfits?!

  • isnt this samhain??

  • what is this from? ive been listening to the misfits for more than 15 years and ive never heard this, if someone knows i really would like to know

  • Following the band's breakup in 1983, "Halloween" was reissued on the 1985 compilation album Legacy of Brutality with overdubbed guitar and bass tracks recorded by Danzig. The original versions of both songs were re-released on Collection II in 1995, and all of the versions were included in The Misfits box set in 1996, along with the original studio recording of "Halloween II".

  • collections 2, mang

  • lupos means wolves in italian lots of italian words are the same as italian ones

  • italian , french , romanian and other languages are made from latin .. I can understand more than 25 % of the song only from my language + the latin that I learn in school about 80 %

  • This is really weird latin. I'm in latin 2 and i don't recognize any of it except et, in, and quodam haha

  • HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

  • a lot of similarity to Bauhaus on this track. I like it.

  • great song. its hallows eve today

  • no halloween is hallows eve

  • TRANSFORMING INTO A WOLF!!

  • werewolf*

  • i kinda thought he was speaking latin but never knew what it was let alone what it meant! Good old halloween

  • I had idea there was halloween 2! A friend of mine turned me in their direction when I was 13. I'm 24 now and this my first time hearing it.

  • Metamorphoses Lycanthropie and Possunt Inquam: I believe werewolves can change shapes.

or in other words, i believe one can transform into a werewolf...

  • yeah graves did kick ass danzig was awesome but now he fails hes not even punk anymore graves did a good job as the singer

  • That's whats cool about Danzig he does whatever the fuck he wants musically and succeeds. Hes the definition of a artist.

  • wow pure maggot you suck like wow

  • znvalentine go play with your faggot cupid or something you dweeb..plenty of people listend to The Misfits with Graves you fucking cupid boy bitch man

  • Misfits suck without Danzig, yet who the hell could ever fill his shoes? He's an amazing vocalist and they come few and far between!

  • actually Maichael Graves kicked ass

  • That's why hardly anybody listens to the Misfits post Dazig era? The only "decent" song is Scream and it isn't even that great! Michale Graves has nothing on Danzig, and if you think so you are very ignorant.

  • yeah graves had loyalty to the fans! Danzig is just and ass.

Danzig was a good singer but so is graves.

  • meh. Danzig is The Misfits. The new stuff is kinda neo-nostalgic. They could have got someone a little better besides Graves. Still bought the CD, but not the same.

  • couldn't agree with you more

  • I really don't like Halloween II, even if Halloween is my favourite song by Misfits...

With Halloween in my opinion ceratainly the best songs are London Dungeon, Scream!, Die Die My Darling, Where Eagles Dare, Static Age (the first album of Misfits)

  • fuck, this one always stuck out as creepy to me

  • samhain version better, but theis is good

  • Ancient formulas of exorcisms and excommunications

That witches and those made wolves believe

I maim now the demon clothed in wolfskin

Having to hide in the hollow of a tree

I say werewolves can change shapes

  • I like the Samhain version better.

  • Danzig was the singer of the misfits and Samhain.

  • lol I know Danzig was the singer and songwriter for both Misfits and Samhain, and hence they're both Danzig's versions. I just like the version he did with Samhain better is what I meant. As much as I love the Misfits, I love Samhain more. I think Samhain was the better band. I love all of Danzig's work though.

  • Ok, i was just making sure that you knew and that you didn't think that their was no connection between the 2 bands. i think Samhain was good, but the misfits are my favorite band (i like punk better than metal) :) the misfits are still good, but not as good. they have Jerry Only as the singer, doyle left the band, DR.Chud left, and Graves left. Now its Jerry Only, Dez Cadena, and Robo.

  • arnt they pretty much the same thing

  • esto no es de misfits es de sahmain ¬¬

  • would anyone know how to say "I rember halloween" in latin

  • so its badkwards?

  • in non-standard latin

  • I think Metamorphosis Lycanthropie has something to do with becoming a werewolf.

  • misfits #1 from puerto rico

  • ancient formulas of exorcisms and excommunications That witches and those made wolves believe I maim now the demon clothed in wolfskin Having to hide in the hollow of a tree I believe that they so can be changed.

  • The guitar sounds like it's being played in a tomb or a crypt.

  • i noticed you skipped 3 and 9 and i did notice there were 10 facts caus you skipped 2 of them, everyones seen this one before so fuck off

  • from 0:30 to 0:50 it makes me think of an 80's masked serial killer (kinda Michael Myers and/or Jason esque) walking menacingly towards a hot girl as she's cornered and screams.

  • why don't you translate "Halloween" word.....

  • cuz latin wuz a dead language by the time hallows eve became halloween

  • MISFITS 4 LIFE

  • misfits really kick ass, i hate those emo posers that listen to them.

  • @fmetal9 finally someone understands me!!!!!

  • @fmetal9 Agreed. And sweet green day paramore pink girls too.

  • @fmetal9 they probably memorized Scream and Skulls. Ask them to sing Where Eagles Dare, if they don't know the song, smack them in the face.

  • Misfits RULE!!!!!!!!!!

  • wOhoOo horror Punk rult_misfits_are_the_best

  • wats that screaching noize in the middle of the song

  • feedback probably

  • the riff is so distorted

  • its a good thing

  • I think that Halloween is better than this version. Just my opinion.

  • @Guruhigh ha thats funny i think this is the better version

  • misfits will live forever and will never die

  • best song

  • i love this song. Gothic Art, if you ask me. The latin vocals that glorify macabre, with a really cool guitar riff. Man, this song is cool, and its great to here Danzig sing it. The original misfits version is the way it was made to be played. All the other covers are fine but, my goodness, shut the fuck up about the covers being better than the Misfits. I tried of all the fuckin' nonsense. The Misfits rule and this song is amazing and creative. Everyone else copied this song!

  • Its amazing. It sounds like a Satanic ritual.

  • pagan ritual

  • @Cyclonus21 Fuck Satanists, bunch of wannabe fronters, half way, be your on God, claim to be atheist, posers. Most of them try to dress a certain way and mess with a bunch of the stuff but deny they believe in anything. Bunch of trendy losers that have no power. Luciferian is the way to go if any, and the real deal hah.

  • @Cyclonus21 Most of them are walking contradictions. They are like the losers club of the occult. Just like a lot of dark pagans deny, deny, deny, and claim to be neutral or that they don't believe in this and that but they dress like zombies. Bunch of cowards.

  • @KingdomAwaits I'm a Nihilist. Everything else is too exhausting.

  • 10 times better by samhain in my opinion

  • metamorphosis is to change, evolve, develop, or grow. the word is derived from the greek words meaning, transform change and form.

  • lycantropie means to shape shift, werewolfs are also known as lycans a short form of lycanthrop which is a creature capable of performing lycanthropie (shifting shape)

  • why dont you just look up the words for the lycantrope aprt and the metomorphis' thing and the thing that came after that

  • That one little guitar riff is so simple yet so addicting.

  • i thank you you sing asome

  • ????

  • the CoF version sounds better

  • I fucking love the misfits...

  • why didn't they just slap this on the end of the first one? it's make it sound more finished and it wouldn't dramatically change the length of the song since they're both kinda short.

  • I just listened to the Cradle song; actually they covered the Samhain version from 1986 (which I personally prefer).

  • Well, the Misfits were Punk, right?

  • i only found two of the words that you couldnt translate. its "Metamorphosis Lycanthropie and To be able I say."

  • lycanthrope= werewolf

    metamorphsis = to change

  • hahaha damn man i was gonna say that but you already posted it xD glad someone else knows their shit tho^_^

  • i knew that

  • damn ive never heard this one and im a danzig and a little misfits fan.

  • Think the samhain version of this is more badass.

  • I think Cradle's is better because it sounds, darker and more defined and really captures the essence of the song. Dani Filth sings it in such a way that it has a define rythem and not the "all-over-the-place" sound the Misfits have here. This version, I find, is just hard to listen to and sounds unfinished. Cradle's version, on the other hand, sounds polished and finished and just better. But as I said, it's only my opinion and my opinion DOES count.

  • useless arguement in the eyes of fiends, filth is mainstream hot topic shit.... fake death metal for kids, filth also has a shit voice if you want to talk or argue death/black metal or any other form of rock hit me up :)

  • Well, I could argue for Cradle for a lifetime, being a diehard fan and all. But my point is, THIS version is worse. It sounds like a load of lads in a garage shouting random words out of beat to the song. They ARE off tune, there's no doubt about it!

As for Cradle...they do not proclaim to be black. They're actuall proud that no one can fix a label on them. And Dani's voice is shit? That argument has no ground as that's a matter of opinion and he's making SHIT-loads of money from ir for 17 yr

  • well i guess i get the popular vote.....you may go now

  • I think the Cradle of Filth version is one of those few exceptions where the cover is better than the original. Now, this is purely my opinion, don't go hating me for it! Everyone can have an opinion, right?

  • whats the font on the lyrics?

  • dafont. com/misfits .font

The band borrowed letters from "Famous Monsters" magazine.

  • thats the point

  • The reason you can barely hear them is because it was recorded in 1982 for the Walk Among us Album, and it was done in a shitty New Jersey studio!

  • damn straight

  • awsome btw

  • these aren't the literal translations...

  • So fucking what?

  • i love this song on halloween! thank you man

  • i love this song so much!!! so pretty!!

  • Hey PicklePuffs 26.....

    Here is the lyrics for

    "Metamamophosis Lycanthropy...Possunt Inquam"

"...I believe that Werewolves can change Shapes.."

I got these lyrics/ Translation for the Misfits Box Set...I hope this helps some and thanks for the great vid!!!

  • Thanks a lot and your welcome.

  • the methamorphosis lycanthropy w/e thingy..there is a translation for it....

  • Im pretty sure metamorphasis lycanthropie possunt inquam is something like "I am able to transform into a werewolf"

  • Great Post!!!!!

  • Metamorphosis Lycanthropie Possunt Inquam translates to "I say werewolves can change shapes"

  • this is awesome. but i still like Halloween 1 the better

  • this shit rocks

  • Just saw Halloween yesterday... was really disappointed that it was all about sex... but I loved the fact that this song was in there! This song gives me the chills everytime!

  • Danzig is the fuckn man

  • here is all the translation:

Ancient formulas of exorcisms and excommunications

that witches and those made wolves believe

I maim now the demon clothed in wolfskin

Having to hide in the hollow of a tree

I believe that they so can be changed

  • Possunt Inquam = can you say

    hope that helps too

  • Metamorphosis Lycanthropie = werewolf transformation

    .....so you guys know

  • this song is going to be in rob zombies new Halloween remake movie!

    I CANT WAIT!

  • It is? That's cool.

  • that's awesome cause i love Halloween 1 but this is awesome too.
