  • As these are all American adverts they could be from 1948 as commercial TV was already on there.

  • the poster was born in "48 perhaps...just a guess

  • I love how long it took for the remington shaver ad to end...XD

  • Nice effort, but none of these were from 1948. There were some classic RADIO commercials from this era, but very few on television.

  • That 'pepsodent' ad 6:10 sounds like an early hip hop acapella LOL

  • That Dodge commercial is rather sad. All those employed people doing the jobs robots do now. That's what happened to our economy. Reminds me of the lyrics to "Don't Give Up" by Peter Gabriel.

I did enjoy looking at all the past fashions and hairstyles.

  • omfg...that bandage commercial is aweosmly trippy...man if i could of lived in the 50s...

  • 1948年にこんなに進んでたんじゃ、そら勝てんわ...

  • man that 2nd commercial makes you feel high right???????

  • Haha at 4:45, I could have sworn the lady had an iPhone!! :-D

  • that gillette commercial sounds like "R&R"i guess "R&R"started earlier than the 50's than we thought!

  • Thank you for posting. Image resolution is surprisingly clear. I vote for the bluesy animated parrot singing Blue Blades -- Gillette's coolest commercial ever!

  • @cryan475 The image is so clear because it's not really a 1948 commercial.

  • where can I find a tv or radio announcer saying "And now a word form our sponsors"?

  • lol "so start going steady right away, get Pepsodent get some today" Imagine a line like that in today's advertising :p

  • The Pepsodent commercial should look familiar. It was done by Hannah and Barbera--on the hush-hush, because they were still employed by MGM at the time!

  • How cool - commercials that don't try to fucking vulturize you into buying a product based on how much the advertisier can confuse you and fuck up your emotions to the point you are really just buying an image that has nothing to do with the actual product. Thanks for posting these!

  • I agree. Simpler advertising for simpler times

  • @mka800 Thankd for bringing that up. Ira is a legend here in Detroit (Although he us a New Yorker!)

  • I love old commercials! It's like a snapshot of the time in which they were made!

  • I don't know why this is titled "1948." These clips are from the mid 50's at the earliest. I don't think there were filmed commercials in '48. They were, I believe, all done live at that time. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

  • That Dodge at the end is a 1956 (w/tailfins prominent.)

  • @Wordman67 I think you're right. And the quality of the image is much too good for 1948 TV. I

If you want to see real 1948 TV, watch one of he early Toscanini concerts, like the Beethoven's Ninth one.

  • that pepsodent commercial, it may have been the first ever rap song...

  • That weird instrument in the back ground making the whistling noise--do I hear a mellotron?

  • Nope, Mellotrons weren't around in 1948.

  • @mooghammondb3 This isn't from 1948....early 1950's. I have no idea why this is labled so incorrectly.

  • Bet that band-aid rips your skin off when you take it off. And then you need a tourniquet!

  • OH yeah i want a bandaid that sticks like that to my wound... then hurts like hell when I take it off

  • Amazing how clear these old ads are.

  • They're all like that, mostly because of the B&W film and not being on video.

  • Whoa! That second Band-Aid commercial is trippy!

  • Very cool. Things were so different!
