~~@KeyBade. If you, in fact watched the show, then you know that that "dramatic" fall that Adam took was exactly that. The scene you referred to was a demonstration of a "Hollywood" explosion complete with a cartoon "TNT" box that Jamie pushed to activate it and the stunt fall that Adam did. Later in that show they demonstrated with the same car a very real explosion in in which The MythBusters nor anybody else would be nowhere near.

I laughed so hard at this the first time I saw it. I was reminded of V for Vendetta - where he blows up the Old Bailey with this same song playing. The 1812 Overture I believe - very good choice.

@marretenne2 ..Back in the day when the only "social media" available to people was face to face gathering gatherings usually to hear live music, the ONLY kind around. This song is WHAT they would call a composition. It is named Tchaikovski's 1812 Overture. The part heard over this video and countless fireworks display is called the grand finale.

What The Hell!?!?!? Barack Obama on Mythbusters? On December 8th 2010?.Evidently it gonna happen. Folks, check out Adam at the White House in a suit! According to Christian Science Monitor Article (10/18/10) he will talk about Archimedes Death Ray among other things. I thought his blowing up the economy and the country was no myth.

a little further look back into earlier comments would yielded the answer: the music in the the background is the grand finale of the Tchaikovski's 1812 Overture. If you have have ever attended or watched an organized fireworks show, particularly "A Capitol Fourth" on Independence Day (PBS televises) this is a passage of music often used to accompany the climax of such displays.

It was was one of their "viewer specials" I forget which season, I think it was a later one. This was a viewer request by a kid who wanted the mythbusters to blow up his parents' car. This explosion was a demonstration of a "Hollywood explosion" which is based on placement of gasoline & igniters. The explosion after this one was a real with serious amounts of explosives. The car went away. The kid was on site with them when it happened. Hope this is a good answer for you. Thanks for watching

Instead of just bleeping out the four-letter-words, I much prefer the "industrial noises" solution they use on Mythbusters, such as: "Let's blow the [KA-PLANG!] out of that thing!", or: "Holy [AOO-GAH]...!"

A silly noise has a bit of the same liguistic "Wow-did-he-really-say-that?" surprise effect as the real F-words, so it's a way better solution than bleeping or silencing it out -- at least for us with less-than-perfect hearing...!

Hard to argue your point, creative bleeping does add to entertainment value. Guess it all depends on the creativity of the censor. Some the best bleeps happen during sports related shows. The worst kind is whe movies on TV substitute words that a viewer knows darn well were not said.

Now I am not sure. I was just running themes through my head since seeing your question. The William Tell Overture is what

we commonly call the "Lone Ranger Theme" from the classic TV series. Come to think of it I

recall the Mythbusters doing a myth involving

a performance of the 1812 Overture and referred to it by name. It is the music that is used here. If there are any viewers with expertise here, please post and straighten us out.
