All I know in regards to Tricare is that you can either be on tricare Prime or standard. Usually with prime you have to go to MTF (military treatment facility) and with standard you can choose your own dr who accepts tricare. With Standard sometimes you have to pay deductibles and copays and with prime you dont. I'd rather have military insurance (prime) anyday because you dont ever have to worry about paying.

Servicemembers stationed in US territories or in overseas countries receive an Overseas Housing Allowance (OHA) instead of BAH.
