Sounds to me like if it doesn't work that well no one will care for it, but if it works well then it would be really hard to develop any decent games for it, willing to give it a chance, but I'm less then optimistic.

you can make a clothes-on avatar and a special naked avatar of you that's password-protected so your friends don't accidentally find it, and you can use it for private sessions where it's just you. in every game your character would be naked. in a gta game you can run the streets naked. the engine would need to copy your private parts exactly. if you have a small penis, you get an avatar with a small penis. if you have a hairy penis, your avatar will have a hairy penis.

The reason Microsoft didn't demo a FPS at E3 is because project Natal isn't meant to replace the controls for current games, but create a new way of interacting with games and a new type of gaming experience.
I think it's exciting to think of new ways we can play games (Imagine if Heavy Rain used Natal).
I know its past its hight of popularity, but i would be absolutely thrilled to see a Buffy the Vampire Slayer game, where you interact with characters of the show, for instance Buffy training and sparing with Spike. Exploring Sunnydale, the magical side of the buffyverse with Willow and Giles, and going on patrol as Buffy and actually slaying vampires and demons, solving puzzles or obtaining ingredients for spells and it being a whole journey to essentially save the world. It could be so amazing

havent seen natal do much. i still think its an upgraded sony itoy. alls i can think of is fps,...maybe but how do u aim?...u need to have sum kinda sights...do u just use your fingers as sights...how do u traverse the level...3d camera only maps the space u are in and thas wut ...like 10sq ft at best...level could be hundreds of thousands of sq ft. cant imagine aimingin fps, for example enemy is above you. To point your imaginary controller there, you would have to do full body motion, at which point you cant see anything from the screen and also you dont have anything to aim at... First person games wont probably do so good on it.
It can be fun anyway to play somekind of ballkicking game on it but i rather do the real thing. But shooters, not going to happen..

With this technology it will change the way you can play games, it'll put limits on some games and open up branches on others. For example first man shooting games are going to be a problem to deal with but at the same time you can create much more hand to hand combat fighting games as you can control every attack you make.
I really would like to know how they will apply this to shooter games how this would change the Halo or the Call of Duty games because in these particular cases it actually feels good to have some kind of controller or object that will emulate the "weapon" that you use in such games because it is more satisfying to actually "pull" a trigger regardles if its on a controller. another factor is how will you turn around or look to the side? i like natal but i dont want to lose my favorite games!
Well i think you would still be able to turn in shooting games by just pointing the gun or what ever you're using to the right or the left. And to make shots in the screen you just wouldn't turn as much maybe. but yeah it is nice to be able to hold some thing to make it realistic. Maybe they will bring back the House of the dead arcade guns and the steering wheels like N64 had :)
I doubt the 360 has a larger audience for motion sensing as the Wii, everybody has a Wii these days, my nan played the Wii at christmas. I still feel that there is a huge amount of potential here, but it is still limited, We may get a couple of gems somewhere there, but you will have to search through the mountain of kiddie fodder MS will throw at us, Because they are going after Wii sales, and we all know what kind of games those people like to buy.
They just want to take away from nintendo what they have done, but try at least to make it better by making it their own.

I think that Microsoft have done an amazing thing here and are really thinking out side the box. The sad to see that most of the commenter's here still seam to be stuck in the past.
The reason Microsoft didn't demo a FPS at E3 is because project Natal isn't meant to replace the controls for current games, but create a new way of interacting with games and a new type of gaming experience.
I think it's exciting to think of new ways we can play games (Imagine if Heavy Rain used Natal).

I know its past its hight of popularity, but i would be absolutely thrilled to see a Buffy the Vampire Slayer game, where you interact with characters of the show, for instance Buffy training and sparing with Spike. Exploring Sunnydale, the magical side of the buffyverse with Willow and Giles, and going on patrol as Buffy and actually slaying vampires and demons, solving puzzles or obtaining ingredients for spells and it being a whole journey to essentially save the world. It could be so amazing

they will lose hardcore gamers with that if they just go with no controlers requierd some should be made hybrid with natal in mind and a controller of some sort and the motion controll will have to be true one to one where thier is no lag beetween you ingame charachters movment and yours hope they fix that ive noticed that in that richochet they demoed and that paint game hopefully they fix that and it should come with that wirless headset beacause your going to need it

@poo19me Well...you know it could be true but in one of the videos u see a girl changing the clutch right next to her so maybe for ur CoD6 u could throw grenades depending on how hard u throw and grab it by ur waste like an actual grenade...and zoom it could be by pressing the top of ur "gun" somewhat...anythings possible

For the FPS: if they could make project Natal work with TV glasses instead of big flat screen that would solve the problem and be more immersive. Beside, Microsoft don't make TV so they won't lose anny kind of income...but SONY would :P

Now it's clear the Natal videos are set-ups, they're false and misleading, with actors following scripts in most of them.
It won't live up to the hype, or even come close. It'll increase lag and drop frame rates since all processing will be done on the xbox.
Project Natal will be number 1 on all of 2011's lists of most over-hyped and useless technology products. That will be its major achievement.

i swear i will love microsoft forever if they make a Left 4 Dead3 for Natal like you can switch from righty to lefty and just put your hands on your hips when you want to change weapons and swing your arm across your body to melee zombies away and you crouch to crouch or sit down and for the aim you can just have regular cross-hairs and to turn around you pivot your Upper-waist without turning around it would be EPIC and you grab a bomb from the other side of your hip and toss as far as you can

havent seen natal do much. i still think its an upgraded sony itoy. alls i can think of is fps,...maybe but how do u aim?...u need to have sum kinda sights...do u just use your fingers as sights...how do u traverse the level...3d camera only maps the space u are in and thas wut ...like 10sq ft at best...level could be hundreds of thousands of sq ft. Natal is a cheap gimmick, just like the 360 is a cheaply constucted console.

cant imagine aimingin fps, for example enemy is above you. To point your imaginary controller there, you would have to do full body motion, at which point you cant see anything from the screen and also you dont have anything to aim at... First person games wont probably do so good on it.
It can be fun anyway to play somekind of ballkicking game on it but i rather do the real thing. But shooters, not going to happen..

With this technology it will change the way you can play games, it'll put limits on some games and open up branches on others. For example first man shooting games are going to be a problem to deal with but at the same time you can create much more hand to hand combat fighting games as you can control every attack you make.

I really would like to know how they will apply this to shooter games how this would change the Halo or the Call of Duty games because in these particular cases it actually feels good to have some kind of controller or object that will emulate the "weapon" that you use in such games because it is more satisfying to actually "pull" a trigger regardles if its on a controller. another factor is how will you turn around or look to the side? i like natal but i dont want to lose my favorite games!

Well i think you would still be able to turn in shooting games by just pointing the gun or what ever you're using to the right or the left. And to make shots in the screen you just wouldn't turn as much maybe. but yeah it is nice to be able to hold some thing to make it realistic. Maybe they will bring back the House of the dead arcade guns and the steering wheels like N64 had :)

I doubt the 360 has a larger audience for motion sensing as the Wii, everybody has a Wii these days, my nan played the Wii at christmas. I still feel that there is a huge amount of potential here, but it is still limited, We may get a couple of gems somewhere there, but you will have to search through the mountain of kiddie fodder MS will throw at us, Because they are going after Wii sales, and we all know what kind of games those people like to buy.

lacks the percision of sonys motion controller and i dont see how they can develope game that can appeal to the gamers on the 360. 360s best selling games are first person shooters after all and i dont see how you can play one with out a controller.
aside from that it is very cool how it can recognize your face and sign you in to your xbox automatically and it will definatly change the way we think about playing video games. i just think sonys mtion controller will have a bit more success.

Just think of this, you get a plastic gun very light weight then use it in Call of Duty and it will be able to see where your pointing and when you reload, and maybe they could add weight to the plastic gun, and make it feel realistic.
