i love video about penhold style coz i play ping pong..and i used traditional penhold style too..i want to download the video but the quality is too bad..any better quality vidz?
Excelente video, me gustó mucho. Como yo soy lapicero o "penholder", me gusta analizar los movimientos de este tipo de jugadores. Chevere la última parte donde dice qué tomas de los partidos se usaron para hacer el video. 5 estrellas.
The Korean guy Lee has the classic 70's Japanese penholder style which is too weak by today's standard against any top Chinese players who are strong for both offensive and defense like Ma Long, Xu Xin and Zhang Jike. "0 to 4" is usually the score for him against them these days. Anyway he is too old to change the unfavorable trend against him. You can't teach an old dog new tricks. Sayolara! ☆☆☆☆☆
the lefty has an advantage if he gets the initiative, because it's easier for you to attack in the deep backhand thus making it harder for most players to make their best counter loop at your loop. but ofcourse some players have better backhand than forehand, or have another advantage that they can exploit against lefties, and therefore the saying "lefties have an advantage" doesn't always apply
Lee does have his very good topspin heavy looping forehand and being 30th in the world is nothing to sneeze at, being better than probably all but 50 or so people alive right now is pretty darn good.

I looked in the rules, and it says it's illegal to wear a shirt the same colour as the ball... So how'd lee j.w's opponent do it?

Great and Fantastic TT player.
It is important to mention that he uses the traditionnal JAPANESE penhold technique. there is no such thing as traditional Korean penhold technique.

lee has got an advantage, because he's a left hander. Ryu is a right hander.

i dont really like penhold that i have nothiing against it it just look unnatural and backhand is complicated but still works for some lpayers
ButterFlyTableT 2 years ago
I disagree. Actually I found penhold's backhand to be easier than shakehand so I went with penhold.
Reverse backhand is a bit hard though; still I have no regrets so far...

penhold tech is way better.. for me at least.

ryu seung min is faster and more agile and has a wider range of loops, not to mention he has a way higher WR.
