  • ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh those toes

  • What software program did you use to improve picture quality?

  • I LIKE THE WAY FRIDA JIGS WITH THE GUITAR SOLO..you go girl!:)

  • Comment removed

  • Frida has always been the prettier one. But there's no denying that Agnetha has the more powerful voice.

  • This is not live audio...

  • É uma pena que o Grupo ABBA acabou.

  • Pretty sure that they play ABBA in heaven..

  • oh my gosh Frieda is just gorgeous in this video =) thanks so much for posting!!!

  • Well it seems they werent plugged in. I mean I cant see any wires, microphones. nothing. And the sound is too good. besides there's no accompying people visible, and there are definitely some other voices/instruments than just 4 people could play at one time.

Anybody knows if the were live recorded or playbacked ?

  • @nathanel18 The music was playbacked. But it doesn't change the fact, that it is their best tv special ever. In those times there was not such thing as 'live recorded' in tv specials(or very few)

  • @nathanel18

    Playback on 100%.

  • @nathanel18

Playback on 100%. It was only TV studio.

  • For some reason it wasn't cool for a guy to listen to Abba, John Denver or Barry Manilow. I loved them all (and I'm not gay)! But I am happy!

  • 3:32 - what is going on here; in her mind? Look at her face on this time-line

  • Brilliant!

  • What a perfect song and perfect performance. Beautiful, melancholy song. Like most ABBA songs, killer hooks, lyrics, and the voices are perfect.

Both girls are breathtakingly beautiful here. I'll always favor the beautiful Agnetha, but Frida looks stunning here, too, and I love the end where she shows off her playful personality.

    I wish I had a time machine!

  • there are so many lip synched vids of these girls singing, it a drag, still the song rocks from the studio but acual live singing of this song is really great. too bad bands like these dont fit the mainstream anymore, too much dance crap. there would have to be a big change in the music industry, to have music like this played on radio. its sad really, at the time this song came out i was around 9 and loved this record, even though i was hearing Genesis and Yes cranking out of my brothers room

  • SHES STILL ATTRACTIVE THOUGH

  • SUCH A NORWEGIAN BLOCKHEAD! LOOK AT THE BULKY CHIN/JAW AREA. ITS A NORWEGIAN TRAIT/GENE!!! FRIDA CUD SING PRETTY DARN GOOD THOUGH!!!

  • I love Frida's lead too. Benny said this is one of their best song. :))

  • I can remember in the late 70s that there were a good deal that thought there was something very strange if you listened to both Abba and Sex Pistols. I still do today and I am still convinced both delivered original and exciting music! The poor young of today getting fed recycled shit!

  • Frida is amazing she can sing anything. gotta love the air guitar. :)) Frida <3

  • Frida like always so pretty.

  • I like this song but my sister really doesn't. I especially like the tune after the chorus

    (1:17-1:35)

  • awesome (L)

  • @SoulsRelative This song owns. Period, :)

  • @SoulsRelative Most beautiful voices.

  • that songs so sad the first time i eva seen it i nearly cryed lol

  • srecan rodjendan mom drugu kome je ovo omiljena pesma...drug je Milan Savic...<3

  • Magical.

  • Abba were just brilliant! ... the song writing and the performing talent is breath taking - where the hell have bands like that gone.

  • @ianzxcvb We'll never see another like ABBA in our lifetime. :) or :( Glass half empty ..Glass half full..:D

  • ABBA! Good job and I have a special remember of my little boy golden years........

  • this band is before my time.......and it rocks ..againts all that other crap out there.....this is music and sad to say it will never be like this again, it's all bout the dolla..

  • @Isabella5able True!

  • @Isabella5able Totally agree.

The guys were musical geniuses and the girls' voices were flawlessly blended together. People still don't realize how perfect this band was. If they had started in the U.S. they would have set all time records.

  • this song is one the my favorites, Frida are you amazing whit her voice. I love Frida.

  • Frida has a wonderful lead here, much better than I remember....

  • I love "ABBA" forever!

  • To me they're at the top of their carrer : everyone is great and so cute, as well the songs. THis one is my fav! so moving and the melody is just master piece

  • 3:53 La cara de agnetha !! imperdible

  • Frida is such a beauty... Love her voice and her energy

  • Agnetha talent and presence on stage.

    A total diva.

  • I'm wandering what year was this concert in Poland? It should be a big happening under the wire fence these days...

  • @isitikines1

I guess you were expecting Stalin to come from behind the curtains and slaughter them all with hammer and sickle, weren't you? Nah, just kidding. It was 1975, I believe. And yeah, it must've been a big event back then.

  • @ekhangel 1976. It was an enormous event, bigger than the landing on the Moon.

  • Uma Frida Aberta!

  • Larry Kowtowski LOVES ABBA !!!|Bigger than the BEATLES, says he.

We miss you Larry. Love fromBOSTON

  • Amuses me some comments.

Know that Agnetha does not need your ass or ridicule.

She is the first voice of Abba and his charisma no one can

  • @fortinero45 My friend I believe we have a lot in common. Thanks a lot for that comment. I do agree with you, Agnetha has been always the lead singer in Abba, she is the center, the soul and the main atraction of the group. Some people are jus blind (ciegos ). Thanks my friend.

  • Agnetha does not need to ridicule to stand out.

Frida is jealous for not being the first voice of ABBA.

Agnetha is sweet and has angel

  • nie zapomnę jak byli u nas w Polsce,bo to akurat był szczególny dzień dla mnie,Studio 2.....pięknie wspominam te chwile...

  • LOOOOOVE ABBA

    ABBA4EVER!!! XD

  • AAAAAAAAA FRIDA MEU AMOR!

  • 3:48 Frida playing air guitar. <3

  • I love this group more than I can express. ABBA is to groups as Bob Marley is to reggae, Michael Jackson is to pop and Jimmy Hendricks is to guitar. Long live ABBA!!!!!!

  • I totally concur with your statement. There will probably not be another group with their magnifence in sound and recording and their worldwide appeal in our lifetime. I like your taste in music!!!

  • i scream it there's nothing we can do and i sob on this beauty and why they broke up? this was a sign of it alas alas

  • @royko22 She didn't freak out. She was

ill . Do you think she should sing with a lot

    of pain in her throat?

  • this is just like listening to the knowing me knwoing you track in ABBA Gold. just like it. i promise same singing voice and tone.

  • Wery good sound!

  • ABBA is absolutely amazing without a doubt, but the playback style of performance is very silly in general

  • Great stereo sound on this video.

  • royko22, United States is not the only country in the world !!!

  • Just the biggest consumer market.

  • Frida is so beautiful and this song kicks ass

  • Hey royko22, your arrogance is showing! We Americans sometimes are out of step with the rest of the world.

  • You must be an Obamaite apologist. Yea, out of step, like in not accepting Nazism and Communism -- and pop musical mediocrity. By the way -- see the election results in MA. Obamaite breastbeating is no longer in fashion.

  • lipsyncing ABBA in Poland LOL)))))))))))

  • Jerry Greenburg, President of their American label, summed it up nicely: They didn't come to America because they didn't need to. Everything else they were doing around the world worked. Americans lapped up Mamma Mia! the musical and have bought six million copies of ABBA Gold. They must like purchasing groups that are a silly joke.

  • No they were afraid of American audiences. Agnetha freaked out during a trip to a Washington, D.C. concert and they had to cancel. The old American senior citizens are finding the music very restful -- but it is not rock.

  • Benny recently said, in reaction to being inducted into the Hall of Fame this year, that it was surprising because they were not a rock band, but a pop band. Agnetha hated flying, and they had a rough flight to D.C. and yes she was unable to perform. ABBA achieved their success differently than most bands did, and that just irks the hell out of some Americans and thus they were a "joke". "Rock" nor "Pop" music was not born in America, by the way.

  • @royko22 2+

  • royko22 Silly or not, over 360 million records and growing. Nothing to laugh at.

  • Alvin and the Chipmunks sold millions of records. So did Big Bird from Sesame Street. No doubt they too are a highly prized part of your collection.

  • @royko22 How did you know?

  • @royko22 Come on ... What better thing has America produced ???

  • Well for starters -- the entire genre of rock 'n roll.

  • I thought it was made in UK :)

  • Royko22: 90% of Americans are imbeciles !!!

  • true.

  • Not even Agnetha's cute butt could upstage Frida's lead in this song. Great tune!

  • ABBA in Warsaw was more important event than the first man on the moon. At least for all young people in Poland, I think. (Those were my student' years.)

  • Hell yeah! more: Poland was under Soviet control. It wasnt easy to bring them to Warsaw because of comunism.

  • ****smile*****

  • best abba song ever.......

  • good job, love Frida's lead

  • Same here...My favorite ABBA song that Frida leads on. No doubt about it! ABBA Rocks!

  • ABBA best musik best song best groep of pop in the 70 and 80 lovelie songs

  • What appears to be lipsynching is actually a combination of the best of both worlds. The learned how to get the accapella sound with the piano and guitar down to a science, where it created something of a unique quality, that was a little of both. They knew their audience knew they weren't actually "Live" so they did a compromise. It was about marketing their brand, and many didn't get that, then or now.

  • You're right. What is more, they are not even using microphones, they did not try to fool the audience. And when they really did it live, they were just perfect. You can't compare Divine ABBA to bloody Britney Spears...

  • Świetny występ - wspaniały czas !! FANTASTYCZNA MUZA !

  • Playback, sounds nice and the girls are fabulous but it was playback

  • JUST A NICE VIDEO AND SONG

  • Man I was in love with Frida back then ..... when I was 11!

    :D

  • she looked so beautiful and gentle... S2

  • absolutely stunning harmony.

  • GOOD HAIR!

  • abba jest poprostu super a zwłaszcza ten utworek

  • The genius of Frida's vocal here lies in that she's singing only three notes in the verse, arranged in his own genius fashion by Benny, but you would never guess that since she imbues each note with such raw passion.

  • Knowing the pain underlying the singing of this particular one, at the time, makes me want to cry, just watching it. Unbelievable!

  • OMG , that "break it up is ne-ver ea-sy I know..." wow , that's a magnificent piece of harmony!

I think the ABBA 's composer is a total genius.

  • This song was the introduction of

the 'sawtooth' harmony Frida and Agnetha invented, that is the core of the famous '3rd voice'. Frida's lower

'feathery' tone combined with Agnetha's clear high tone on each note creates super-rich notes of great depth. Another fine example of the '3rd voice' is

'I Am The City', but the greatest of all is the chorus on 'Just Like That'; a molten river of sugar I want to be the last sound I hear on earth...

ABBA - the greatest vocal group of all time.

  • I'm obsessed after your explanation. Btw, I heard Cass Elliot from mama's and papa's to talk about that concept inside the Michelle and Cass voice textures mix, 10 years before. Very interesting! Thanks you very much.

  • @hermitcrabbot "Sawtooth" refers to the waveform? What do you mean? There's an interview with Michael Tretow where he talks about adding a thinned out, flanged track to create that shimmer but it sounds like you're talking about something else. The remarkable thing to me about their voices is that I can never tell when they're singing in harmony or just doubling -- they mesh perfectly.

  • @hermitcrabbot AHHH! You put it into words so well!

  • @hermitcrabbot what a brilliant analysis!

  • Now that's two women who really

    respected each others talent.

    Awesome !

  • Thank you for sharing the heartache you must to feel. This song has such a transcedental theme and music. Benny, Sig and Bjorn wrote a timeless materpiece. It should be put in a capsule to be opened after 100 years, with the equiptment to play it of course. Just perfect. Thank you for posting this particular video. Bless you<

    JF

  • no it did not! does the video look 60's??

  • I think it was 1977.

  • EVEN THOW LIPSYNC'ND I LOVE THEM.

  • I just wanna cry when I hear that weeping guitar at 1:20 ...miss them really..

  • this is my favorite song I was a kid in junior high school when I heard this song

  • I think Agnetha is not very pleased with Frida for flirting with her hubby. But imagine them being together every second of the way...Confrontations are bound to happen. It's natural, friends do get mad at each other.

  • jedna z jejich nejhezčích pisnicek!!

  • Jesteście jednym z tych najlepszych zjawisk jakie się mogło przydarzyć Ludziom Kochani jesteście

  • To Kate expressions.. She will recognize her... French kiss

  • Hope you get better mccniall .Sounds cliche but time heals and changes everything...

  • Is no-one listening to the lyrics. This is one of the most painful, powerful love songs ever. I'm going through this exactly at the moment and it's a dark place. You love someone so much you'd take a bullet for them but you cant seem to love them enough to make it work.

  • i totally agree with you. i also think the fact that she was beginning not to like crowds scared her a bit while performing this. but hey, who knows what she was exactly thinking...

  • Wow..the "what the fuck are you doing" look from Agnetha at 3:53 lol :D

  • Maybe Agnetha was a bit upset, Frida having fun with Bjorn and all! Yikes!!

    03:53........

  • she deff looks like

  • de las ultimas que llegaron a mexico que bellas canciones de abba

  • Well, nothing "live" in this clip ... just a pure playback ...

  • Love this song!

  • Classic ABBA pop! A brilliant song and a great performance.

  • Hello!! They could absolutely sing live, check the other video clips. Dum dum diddle for instance. Frida you are a hot mamma!!! Agnetha you look like an angel.

Every was dubbing during the 70's and 80's.

Thank you for posting all these Abba video's. Nice to know there are still so many fans.

  • this group is just outstanding , the gratest ,WOW !what a voice

  • idiot.

  • I love this song!

    Thank you!!

    George Vreeland Hill

  • Thank You George! It is probably my favorite by a narrow margin. Great to hear from you as well. Peace!

  • One of my favorite songs, EVER! Thank you for uploading it.

  • Sounds very good.

  • Reina Danzante! You are so kompatibillity

with the great insights of an holy ghost

like "the aliments of Schweineklappen"! Absolut!!!!!

  • 3:54? Susie!!!

  • wonderful song

  • agnetha's face at 3:54...

  • she look tier

  • GREAT GROUP

  • I love it......ABBA in Poland!!! Fantastic

  • OMG OMG... Frida at the .20-.29 second mars.... HEAVENLY. Even though the tune is about breaking up, she looked ohh so sultry and beautiful, as she always does.

ABBA are amazing. Not just Frida with the deep sultry voice, Not just Agnatha with her upbeat high soaring voice and flowing locks of hair, but even Benny & Bjorn with their perfect harmony... well, how much can one say about a a great band???

  • i understand how everyone is saying that it was painful for them to sing this because of the divorces, and im sure it was, AFTER the divorces. but im pretty sure its impossible this song was WRITTEN about the divorces, because this song came out in 1976 on the album Arrival, and werent both couples together at that point ? So how could this song be about their divorces ? just wondering...

  • Knowing Me Knowing You was not about Benny and Fridas divorce so you are right. :)

  • yeah i figured . this song is one of my favs. thanks for the awesome clip ! :)

  • amazing!Frida is smiling at first, then quickly, fades to "the dark tone"...sad, sad song

    Wade

  • a stunning video of my favorite abba song. they both look beautiful here.and btw, they are very talented. i cannot think of any other female duo that comes close to their vocal perfection. stevie & christy, nope. the wilson sisters, nope.their are none.

  • 7ABBA7, Thank you for posting this special video, I like this song since my childhood, I did like forever learn to play this guitar (for the notes), but, I did cannot, but only want to go to listen this song, always.

  • Thank You and you are very welcome. My pleasure! :)

  • Did anyone catch "The Look" from Agnetha after Frida's air guitar number? Hmmm...

  • Yep, love that look on her face hahaha

  • She looks very sad.

As the song says, "Breaking up is never easy". I'm sure this song was tough to sing over and over considering the meaning behind it.

  • Jeannie, you are so spot on. They,(both couples)had such a painfull existance after their breakups. Bjorn even asked Frida if she could do this song knowing it was about Benny and her divorse. I know personally the pain of this song and it is very dear to me.

  • Too bad the camera pans away just as Frida is doing her air guitar. She looks so at ease, natural and beautiful. One of my favorite ABBA moments.

  • Thank you, 7AABA7, for sharing this wonderful ABBA performance with us. ABBA, the greatest pop music act of all time!

  • Thank you! Ditto on their unmatched legacy! :)

  • heel mooi ferry nice

  • BRILLIANT!!!

  • Els!!! The Scottish Lass with Class! :)

  • It is a beautiful video

    I love Abba

I am happy because it is a beautiful video and the two women are very beautiful and the two women dance well

    great video

    a kiss kiss

  • I Love Abba.

    thanks!

  • Aww, Frida tilts her head so sadly at 3:32. :(

Then breaks out the fun with the air guitar at the end! :D

  • Thanks for this video. It seems to be hard to find any ABBA videos which aren't lip-synced (This one is).

  • Check out my Wembley Arena concert for a full Live concert with NO lipsyncing at all. ABBA Rocks!

  • Thank you! I just finished watching it; it's great!

  • The only thing that bothers me about ABBA is that a lot of their "live" performances they simply lip syncing to the recording like in this video. They wrote excellent pop songs but I can understand the criticisms of their live shows because of this. By the way, I always thought Frida is really hot:)In the rare times she's made up like her blonde partner she is very good looking. Most of the time they made her look too plane jane.

  • These types of tv appearances were for promotional purposes. It takes a lot of time, effort, and money to travel around the world with a full band and all the equipment. For actual live stuff on tv, they did Dick Cavett, a special with Olivia, and one on Japanese tv with an orchestra - which are on YouTube. A few appearances they sing live to a backing track. But there are excellent live show clips here from Wembley arena and also from ABBA the movie in Australia - really good stuff.

  • this video is strange. frida and agnetha look ravishing and display a great range of emotions. high quality, dramatic pop which even pete townsend loves. high quality sound and image too. thanx, 7ABBA7

  • You are very welcome xensboy. ABBA Rocks!
