I'm kind of new with my interest in politics, but why do so many reporters grill him to much about whether he would run as an independent? Especially when he answers the same everytime? Are they expecting him to suddenly answer differently?

Please I am not trolling: Consider that the left and right only debate the degree of policies, not the policies themselves. Bush ran on less government and we got the Patriot Act for example. That said, try to remove yourself from a "party" mindset and you may see that our choices are between a incumbent President that is similar to the "progressive" attitude of almost every president since Taft, a Republican party whose only real fundamental difference lay in abortion, and Dr. Paul.
When I try, I can see why different people disagree with Dr. Paul on different aspects. Some say he is too old, or they like his foreign policy but not domestic, or vise-verca. However I think he is so popular because right or wrong, the human instinct that can detect lies reveals that he has integrity. It's how we KNOW that despite party affiliation, politicians need to prove their integrity. I truly believe he has, but you need not do more than look at his voting record.
