The wire frame is there so you can still see your character and what's happening through the map. It said that in the description when you bought the game, I think... Also, I would recommend this game to people, because it's just funny. I've launched people out of my ass and had them knock over neighborhoods. If you want to play a game that's really unique, has no story to make sense of it and just laugh for a couple of hours, play this game! Plus it's only 5$ so you don't lose much.

The wireframe is so you can use that camera angle and still see. The purpose of Noby Noby BOY is to grow yourself and report lengths to GIRL, who's goal is to grow and connect to each planet so everyone from each planet can come together and be friends. It has nothing to do with impressing GIRL, but rather helping her grow, thus helping intergalactic peace.

I think the wire frame is there so that when you look at the playing field from BENEATH it, you are given some type of representation of where the ground is, as opposed to just seeing objects, floating doughnut clouds and sky.

well Noby Noby Boy was first brought out in 2007, the creator i forget his name, made a demo so to speak to show what his idea was then later another demo came out and it was very cintradicting to the first demo so the game was delayed, and the main idea was made into a mini-game while the real or bigger version is still being developed. SO its basicaly what u kungfurru said they didnt quite finish it but he put it out there anyways

the wireframe thing... its not actually wireframe. its just a transparent plane with a griddy texture. ive used them tons of times as a 3d game developer. when i make map editors i like to gie the backface of boundaries (floor etc) such an effect incase the camera goes thru it. never seen anyone else use it til now but i recognised it when i saw it. it just gives you a sense of depth when theres no baring (main baring being the floor).

Most intelligent response I've read re: the 'wireframe' suggesting NNB is an unfinished project released as an experiment.

So, let me ask you a question..I believe that this was supposed to be a full price release that they didn't feel was working as such, so they trimmed it back and released it as a download game because it still had worth as an entertainment product...Does the presence of this 'wireframe' (as i call it in the vid) support this idea in your opinion?

hm not really. they could have EASILY prevented the camera from going into the floor. its such a basic and easy thing. honestly. theres no doubt that its a deliberate desicion. most commercial releases just stop the camera ever entering nul-space by giving it a clip radius and an intelligent response mechanism.  its so easy. i really thing this game turned out how it was planned from the start.

Yeah, I agree with you. I'm just saying that even though it's meant for you to see BOY, they could have done something like making it transparent like when you get behind a house. Every time I see the wire frame, I think "Is my game broken?" but then remind myself that it's supposed to be there. But, that was a great video. I sent this to a friend so he could "understand" what this game is...even though it seems no one will. They must have some powerful drugs over in Japan.

I know that's what they tell you....But to me it still feels like as a semi-finished concept that has been 'redirected', it just seems that it was easier for them to leave the wireframe in, rather than apply another solution.

In the vid, i offer opinion, I don't state the 'unfinished' thing as fact. I've had a lot of people pick me up on this wireframe issue, sometimes quite aggressively. It's just an opinion.

The guide even says that the wireframe is naturally shown so that you'll be able to see through things if objects get in your way. I don't think it has anything to do with it being unfinished. Look at the polish of this game....
