Thise guys copy (in almost everything) Manowar, one of the first heavy metal bends, and are considered as one of the only "True" metal band (just a note: i don't like this song just trying to say that calling Children of Bodom HEAVY metal is stupid.

Heavy metal bands are Iron Maiden, Iced Earth and such. CoB is a type of bad black metal.

And to correct, CoB is not black metal. CoB began as Death Metal, then went on to extreme power metal, and now they play kind of a mix between heavy and death with power elements. And even if they'd be playing black metal, they aren't bad. Hatebreeder is a brilliant album, Follow the Reaper too, the rest are ok imo.

Follow the Reaper was on the border, and Hate Crew Deathroll was just that. Growly vocals, heavy focus on keyboards and leads, speedy tempo = extreme power metal. This can of course be argued, there's been a lot of discussion about what CoB actually play.

The truth is that many Finns love rock so the fans vote for these bands. I mean hey, would you judge Spain if they sent latin pop to ESC? No, because that's one of the things Spain is famous for. But people can't see that this is the stuff we like here so they attack us saying that this is the same as our 2006 entry. But for Pete's sakes, look at Greece! They keep sending the same stuff year after year but no one seems to notice.
