Hey brian !!! dis is Manik frm India, i recently bought a new bike n ya like most amateur bikers the side stand ws a problem 4 me too coz me being a thin guy n my bike being this heavy beast !!! So i hopped onto ur video, saw it carefully n ran 2 my garage 2 implement ur technique n wow !!! It worked !!! Thx n keep up d good work !!!
Thank you for posting this video. I ride a Nighthawk 550 and I've used the center stand to change my oil before. However, I got on the bike, pushed down and rocked back until I got it up (I did the reverse to get it back down). I also had someone helping me, pulling back on the grab bar. However, this looks like a much easier and safer way of going about this and best of all, it can be done by one person. 5 stars!

Thanks for the comment! The center stand is so useful (and easy to use, once you know how!) I wonder about some of the newer bikes with the 'underslung' exhaust (e.g. Kawasaki Ninja 650, ER6n and Versys)...there doesn't seem to be any way to mount a center stand on those...a real shortcoming IMO.
great explanation! I like to sit on the bike to take it down, but the center stand is a great way to do maintenance on the bike, and with the right technique even a very small person can put the bike up on the stand. Currently my 400 is sitting on the center stand with the swing arm removed...keeps teh bike level and straight.
This was awesome, thanks! I have been struggling with my '81 KZ1000,,,,about 800 pounds. haha

for person of light weight and for motorcycle of bigger weight than in video, all ought to use left foot instead of right . . It'll be more easier...
