  • Great audio system! Cheap shit camera!

  • WHY YOU NO PLAY DUBSTEP

  • Look the goods!

  • Two Japoneese guy's drinking wine $10

Listening to great classical music CD another $10

Speakers and sterio taking up 1/3rd of your apartment Priceless..!

  • One day JBL will make a human size loudspeaker.

  • @TheInternetWanderer Have been for a long time. Look at their pro line (very different from their commercial line) that are flown in large stadium for concerts.

  • @LorenzoNW - I was being "somewhat" facetious.

  • nothing like great wine n great speakers

  • Some say, JBL's are too overloaded in bass and they were inappropriate for classical music, but i say: They do a powerfull interpretation, warm & rich in character.

  • How much are these speakers

  • @MRconsigliereBG i beleive they are around 65,000

  • @MrMobsta55 If that's true and you're talking USD, that's insane. For that kind of money (or less) you can get much higher-end speakers — Avantgarde, Evolution Acoustics, Von Schweikert, Ruark, Sonus Faber, JM Labs, Kharma, and even Chapman at $10,000 a pair.

  • @LorenzoNW yes thats in uds

  • @MrMobsta55 Wow, wonder what kind of electronics they're running. JBLs at $65K are a joke. Even the Chapmans smoke them at $10K. And to make matters works it looks like solid state monblocks and preamp :( One of the reasons for buying a high-effeciency speaker with a horn driver is to be able to power it with a SET amp.

  • pone un tema de los redondos y ponelo al taco

  • If I had these speakers I would not play this kind of music!

  • It must be nice 2 have that kind of money!!! Enjoy it while it last. Bcuz it's all about 2 change!!!

  • casse da 60.000 euro e ti siedi su un divano da 100 euro?? Non oso immaginare che vino stai bevendo..

  • Я в шоке :/

  • the wine room hahaha.. so of course it's a great system too large for this room in my opinion ! thanks for sharing

  • WAAAAAAAAAY TO SMALL ROOM!!!!

  • @SweetBeatzProd If I recall correctly, the everest series was designed specifically for smaller japanese listening spaces.

  • Hmm that room is way too small for these speakers! Great setup by the way but you are really only getting about57% of what this system can really do with a properly treated and tuned room. If you can affort Krell Evolution Monos you should be able to affor some acoustical treatments or a better room! Cheers

  • I wish I could have a glas of wine there :)

  • where did they steal that shit?

  • Hi,,, hope all is well,

Just wondering how much difference did it make for you after adding the isolation panel under the everest? I have a pair as well, right now , and still trying to figure out how to get the best sound out of it ,,,, thanx,,,

  • this just screams gay to me

  • After almost 40 years as an audiophile, I have to admit that this hobby is first about equipments, sound as in noise & only lastly about music. Audiophile spent so much time in tweaking, upgrading their speakers, amps, preamps, turntables, cartridges, digital players etc. The time for real appreciation of music is 10% of the hobby.

In the end, choosing a great & pretty wife is far more rewarding. Live music in concerts are cheaper, the sound of music better than the best set ups anytime & cost

  • Are you kidding me!! Might as well sit two inches away from these oversize speakers.

  • Someone from Japan bought my Patrician 800s on EBay. I can imagine these guys cranking up Toccata and Fugue in D Minor on pipe organ in a room this size. Goodbye drywall! Hello nails!

  • Excellent setup.

  • Did you have the mic placed in front of and between the loudspeakers?

  • i couldn't relax with all that light on

  • Can you tell me the name of the song?By the way, great speakers!!

  • The room is too small for these JBL's.

    Everests' need to breathe

  • @n2motocross Japanese audiophiles love shoe-horning behemoth speakers (usually horn-loaded) into tiny rooms.

  • @bjorn2run You know, I have noticed that. It does seem that Asian people love horns. I bet they would be heaven with a pair of Usher D2's.

  • were is his tv -.- i mean there is a great space between the speakers but there is nothing there.

  • @vlinderbom2 this is a listening room ONLY... this is an audiophile setup.. not an AV system.

  • You looked like that guy from Evil Dead.

  • Nice speakers but I really hope that's his office and not his appartement... :)))

  • AAHH, Life just doesn't get any better than this....

  • it's a 56kb mp3 playing off his i-pod. LOLOLOLOL

  • that looks like the music from movie Oldboy

  • Flagship model of JBL. it took them more than 5 yrs to built it and it costs around $60000.....wow!!!!

  • Man, those speakers beg for some mighty hip hop rythms... In a large room with the right music, wow...

  • give them more room....i need to breath guys..

  • @retrojaxed2

exactly! thats like the extreme nearfield..

  • what recording is being played? it should be nice on my Karlsons !

  • JBL Everests aren't an old speaker. They do seem kind of large for most Japanese apartments, though.

  • nice Equipment, horrible music ;-)

  • @Kasperle321 it's called "real" music...

  • Typical Japanese school of sound, old JBL's put in a small room.

  • dreh doch mal auf man ey sich voxen kaufen wo eine 60000euro kostet und dan so ne scheiß musik drüber hören das lont nich für den preis!

da kann man sich ja für den preis gleich ein orkester kaufen und es zuhause spielen lassen

  • fuck that put some bass testers on that shit

  • Incredible speakers ! The room looks very small with these inside O.o

  • Very funny read!

  • wow those are massive!!

    for its room space...

  • Okay somebody has to say it. Aren't the speakers a little huge for the room? Seems like the Japanese loves big speakers in small rooms. I am seeing it all the time.

  • They're not subs.

  • subs? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? those speakers cost 70 grand!!!

  • forgive him, for he knows not what he speaks of...

  • hahaha lol oh man hahahah

  • Cello + everest + chilean premium red wine =>

    Excelente!!

  • Have you ever listened to them in a high-end context with well recorde material? Would you you mind listing the speakers that are MUCH better than the Everest but cheaper? I know of a couple (e.g. the Revel Salon2, better bass) that come close but NONE that are even the equal, leave alone better or much better, whatever that means to you (resolution/transparency/lack of coloration/even frequency response/unlimited dynamic range perhaps?).

  • These are nowhere near the best. I don't have a problem with JBL, and I know they make great products... But, there are MUCH better speakers than this for MUCH less.

  • a few examples please...

  • Well, it's all in the "ear" of the beholder.

But, Definitive Technology speakers are rated some of the best, especially for their price.

Also lots of B&W speakers for much less, and probably a better sound.

    But again, it's all opinion.

I think it's the horn that makes me not a big fan.

    All just my opinion though.

  • cool, well said. Being a tube man, I love horns myself. Been chasing a pair of Klipschorns for years on end :^)

  • Well, be prepared to spend a LOT of money for those, lol.

  • Definitive are only rated so high because of their advertising budget. If you don't believe me, go to Home Theater Forum or AVS and ask if you should buy Definitive speakers or something else.

Also, all you people listing brands that are "better" than JBL... if you haven't heard the Everest speakers, you have no idea what you're talking about.

and if you automatically dismiss this speaker because you don't like horns, you haven't heard a good horn design.

  • I've been on AVS many times, and 99% of what people have to say about Definitive Technology is good. Also, DefTech isn't Bose! Yes, DefTech spends a lot on advertising, but ONLY on magazines, so does JBL and MANY other companies out there. So, there goes your point.

I HAVE heard these speakers... They aren't BAD, but too bright for me.

Get over the fact that some people aren't fans of your speakers.

Why has DefTech won so many awards? Not cause of advertising, cause of technology!

  • "Get over the fact that some people aren't fans of your speakers."

Wow, that's cute, despite the fact that you're defending Definitive, whereas I haven't actually said JBL speakers are better than anything else. Also, ask about using Daffy Tack (read on AVS, not my term) for music and see if the response is still 99% "good." The Everest speakers are in a completely different league than conventional speakers, and all these comparisons are being made by people just making assumptions anyway.

  • Note that I wasn't singling you out with that comment; it was directed towards all the people listing brands that are "better" than JBL derived from baseless assumptions.

Though, I do have to say, automatically dismissing a design just because it uses a horn seems exceedingly ignorant to me - but that leads me to my other point - sure, you may have heard these, but was it a demo for a couple of minutes, or an extended period in a proper listening room with program material you're familiar with?

  • Ugh, you're missing my whole point. You're so set on YOUR ways, you won't even listen to reason.

I do NOT hate these speakers, they just aren't my taste. Understand? And yes, I DID listen to these for a very long period of time, with MY music, so I know what to listen for, and what I like. Understand?

I never said anything is better than anything. I just simply stated what I THOUGHT WAS BEST. See, it's an opinion. Understand now?

  • You're listing brands that are better than what you feel JBL's typical performance benchmark is; these are in a completely different class, and you're therefore just dickwaving by listing brands you like and not being relevant.

I don't consider these speakers to be a good value, however that's not the point. These are a halo product for the brand; something built as a cost-no-object demo.

But you're obviously too busy being condescending to bother with reading comprehension.

  • Dude, I listed off two brands. Good grief.

Just get over the fact that I don't like these. You might not like mine, that is fine. But, I respect your opinion. So, respect mine.

But, you're coming across as a fanboy, and a fool. You seem very closed minded.

Any company can make a speaker and say it's worth a million dollars (and there are companies that do charge that much)... But, if I don't like how they sound, then who cares?

Price doesn't mean quality, get it? I do not like them.

  • What the hell? How am I coming off as a fanboy? I have never once said I like these speakers.

  • Are you retarded? Why would you defend a product so much, if you don't even like it? How much sense does that make?

    I'm assuming you're a democrat?

  • If you "don't give a shit if I like them or not" you wouldn't have defended them. I find your assertion that I am defending any particular product here kind of funny - almost as funny as how hysterical you're getting claiming I can't read when I've even directly quoted you doing exactly what you're saying you're not. Go ahead and keep going off though, it's pretty hilarious.

  • Typical answer from a moron.

Dude, these aren't even your speakers, you probably have Bose you purchased from Best Buy, cause the sales associate told you they were the best, and you were like "hell yeah, I want the best!"

Until you have your own videos on YouTube, I'm done listening to you. I hate people that talk and talk and talk about stuff, yet have NO videos of their own. Maybe that doesn't make sense to you, but you don't seem to understand much anyways. I'm done with you. Fool.

  • Bahahahaha. I'd quote this entire comment if it would fit. The "I'm done arguing with you because you're a moron" play, when the truth is, you can't actually argue any of the points I'm making and are just leaving the "argument" in an attempt to save grace. See you later, buddy.

  • Using "retarded" as pejorative is pretty uncool, dude. Also, you started (and clearly lost) the argument here. Next time try being the better man and just walking away instead of announcing your intentions while tossing out insults.

  • Lost an argument? You can't lose an argument of opinions dude. Understand?

I also didn't call anyone retarded, I ASKED if he was retarded. When you understand the English language, you'll get further in life. Ok buddy?

  • Wow, do you flip shit on anyone who disagrees with you? Saying "Are you retarded" implying that a person's argument makes no sense is comparatively saying that a retarded person isn't capable of making a cogent argument. I see why that dude felt you had reading comprehension problems now.

I feel sorry for your son, having to grow up under someone who overreacts over any little thing.

  • Also, I had to do the GATB a couple of weeks ago, and was 98th percentile in reading and language comprehension; not only do I not need need your explanation here, I also doubt you're one of the one out of a hundred who would have scored higher. Maybe YOU should take a step back and try to put two and two together instead of just screaming all the time?

  • Hell, I'm going to go ahead and do the same thing he did and quote your stupid ass:

"Using "retarded" as pejorative is pretty uncool, dude."

"I ASKED if he was retarded."

Using a word as a pejorative term DOES NOT MEAN you insulted that person directly; in this case, it means you offended an entire group of people by using it derogatively. It's the same as calling something "gay." For a 29-year old, your ability to understand things is hilariously bad.

  • Also, one last thing. ALL arguments arise because of differing opinions, that's the PREMISE of an argument! Understand?

  • What I find funny is how you think I'm obtuse because you said you don't like these speakers, then you turn around and try to argue with me when I say I don't like Definitive. Perhaps you should follow your own advice and "Get over the fact that some people aren't fans of your speakers."

You can keep listing speakers that are "MUCH better speakers than this for MUCH less" if you want, but it only makes you look like even more of a hypocrite, Mr. Just My Opinion.

  • Ummmm... I never said I cared you didn't like my speakers, EVER! Where are you getting this information???

I don't give a shit if you like them or not... Cause I DO LOVE THEM... Understand now?

How many times have I said this? Well, I'll say it again... TO EACH THEIR OWN! I simply stated that I don't like these speakers, can you comprehend that? I NEVER SAID MINE OR ANY OTHER BRAND WAS THE BEST... EVER!

    Learn to read, douche bag.

  • @Site4Animation

Bright", that's the word I was looking for hearing these in this makeshift room.

I would of ripped the comforters off the beds and covered the walls with them.

    Cheers

  • a few more examples...Focal, Dynaudio, Wilson, Martin Logan, VMPS, Anthony Gallo, Dali...

Some of the higher end JBLs sound good, but in their price range, all the above speakers sound so much better

  • bit overstated ... but if i got the money^, i would also buy the best^^
