I have recently been experiencing some problems. When I am sitting down I get this buzzing feeling in the back of my head and then after that I can't remember anything. Am I having absence seizures?
@JRBouncerz2010 The first thing you should do is to be seen by a neurologist and request to have and E.E.G done also known as a Electro Encephalogram.
THnk you so much for this video nd your response to my comment...my son is 4 yrs old in pre-school and his techers think he has small seizures as they sy which i think they mean absence seizure.I never suspected that beacause I honestly never knew there was such thing but I hve relized that he stares out lot..i still dont think he has ansence seizures..but i guess his teachers know best they even have a video of him...I m somewhat afrid...is this something to be scared of.

Thank u for showing signs of a absent seizure. Our 8 yr old is having the exact same thing happening to her. We are going for a EEG this friday. I hope your son is ok.

zynab1234 hello zynab1234 I am the father of the boy on the video above. Please have your son to be seen by a neurologist and request to have E.E.G done to him this is one of the first step you should take immediatly. My son's seizure were discover by his teacher be advised not all teachers have knowledge about this type of seizures some teachers may thing that your son is simply not paying attention in class. I also suggest that you scroll on all the comments posted here.
I used to have these but longer and occasionally more severe. I ended up being diagnosed with a brain tumor that was pressing up against my spinal chord causing my seizures. scary stuff.
Have they tried a drug called Lamictal on him? I too have Complex Partial Seizures a.k.a Absence Seizures. I have had them since I was about 4 years old or so. I have been on many different anti-convulsants. I am now on Lamictal and have been on it for about 2 years now. I only have a seizure about once or twice a week now.
@boeremeisie1 Hell @boeremeisie1 thanks for your comments. My son the boy on the video is already off all medication for about 4 months and he has not had any seizures. He was on depako for two years.
I had this happen to me until I got gluten from refined wheat out of my diet. Since then I've met someone on youtube who had seizures and her stopped when she stopped eating gluten! Please, please, please look into this!
@23babydab Thanks for your your question 23babydab. It was just my instinct as a concerned parent that made me call his name to see if he was spacing out on me.

I was diagnosed with this when I was 6 (I'm now 18) and I still have them just as often. But, in the last year, I have also developed grand mal seisures. Its horrible
This used to happen to me. I was never formally diagnosed, I am 32 now. They became less frequent as I got older and I don't think I have any in years. I would be aware that I had lost time but not aware of anything else.
Hi, my daughter has a very similar episode, just like your son and when its happening her eyebrow twitches slightly. You have done well filmimg it as they only last for seconds. She was put on Epilim liquid but reached the highest dose. Were in the proccess of changing over to Kepra liquid.
Hi I just wanted to thank you for this video and videos like it explaining this disorder. when i was in school teachers thought i was just causing trouble because they said i did this. even my family was not aware. and i had thought it was odd when my e.e.g came back and the doc asked my family if i had a history or seizures. now i know why he asked. it still happens every once in a while but not as much as when i was growing up. I wish this was more well known 15-20 years ago.
Thank you so much for posting this video. My son looks *exactly* your son very frequently and I had always attributed it to just being a spacey kid. He recently has had a couple episodes where he has gone vacant then passed out at the end, which made me think it might be something more. It's very reassuring to see your video, since it confirms my own suspicions and makes me feel validated in asking for a referral to a specialist. Thank you again.
@lorhawks hello @lorhawks I am glad this video helped you to learn more about your sons simptoms, I will suggest that you you see a neurologist and request to have a e.e.g also known as an encephalogram done to your son. My son was on medication for two years and he recently got off his medication and he is doing great, he has not had any more seizures. If you live in los angeles california i could give you the address to my son's neurologist. you cam contact me by e-mail at: mrturcios@yahoo.com
Oh my goodness, no wonder Teachers can miss these so easily....they happened so fast....poor kid! I hope he is doing better. I will keep you in my prayers.
Absent epilepsy, otherwise known as absent seizure disorder, is a childhood disorder characterized by brief petit mal seizures. Seizures are a result of abnormal brain activity impulses between the nerve cells, or neurons. This intense activity leads to seizures and loss of consciousness.
This breaks my heart...hope miguel is doing well, god bless him....A friend of mine suffers from this ,thanks for posting this video so other people can diagnose this condition or on their kids.
@ak47law My son is doing great now he just recently got off all his medication about one month ago and so far he has not had any seizures i think he has grown out of it. I would like to thank everyone for their comments and support, i am just so glad that my son got throug with it and i hope his video help others with diagnosing and learning more about absence seizure. Thank to everyone for their support.
@mrturcios1 great news, thanks so much for sharing,Dont want to sound like a broken record but thanks again for taking the time to post this video about your kid's epilepsy episode and helping others get informed about this condition...fuerza miguel!!
@ak47law Thanks to you @ak47law for your concern and i hope this video served it's purpose of helping and educating other about absence seizures. Thank you again.
@rainbowcoins1 Try a holistic or Integrative medicine or a biological doctor. Traditional western medicine will only treat the symptoms. Not the root of the problem. We're producing a documentary about mercury poisoning, and this is one of the consequences. I'm very sorry this happened to your son. All the best! look for the International Academy of Biological Dentistry and Medicine on Google. They have a huge directory of doctors that can help you.
@Finchx2 My son the kid on the video has not had any seizure for the last 2 years. His seizures were very short 6 to 10 seconds long. He just got off his medication and he appears to be back to normal.
I have a six month old daughter who started "checking out" may 31, 2011. Since then IRS almost a daily thing for her. We were in Geisinger medical center last week for 5 days. They checked her heart and it's fine. They did a long term EEG and told us there is nothing there!! We dont believe that! They told us this is prob part of her personality and pretty much to get use to it! Can you believe that?!?! She is basically doing the same ad your son. She just stops and stares for a few minutes/
mrturcios1, I am a clinical psychology doctoral student. I would like to use your video in my dissertation, which is a continuing education course to help medical and psychological professionals differentially diagnose CAE and ADHD, Inattentive Type. May I have permission to use your video in this course?
It may be a person with great imagination and thinks a lot
Well actually I think that only married for doing something very stressful and can also be a sleepless night just two things that make you a bit off ex: (ever seen a grown accustomed to seeing modern music operates the only person not to turn off this there or maybe just sleep and dream bad law that leaves no sleep) and I think
i only read about absence seizures in books....even in class it was just described. thanks for the vid...i now have an idea of how it looks like. this is helpful.
@rainbowcoins1 Hi Rainbowcoins1 in response to your question about how do we deal with my son's absence seizure? Well first you have to have your son to be seen by a Neurologist and he will run a variety of tests to give you a accurate diagnose of his problem this test may consist of taking deep breath through his mouth and exceling through his mouth which will induce the absence seizure episodes. He may also have him get an encephalogram or E.G.G which consist of reading his brain waves.
@rainbowcoins1 After your son get his E.G.G done his neurologist will problaly put him on medication to control his absence seisures. In my son's case it took the neurologist a while to get him the righ doses to control his absence seizures. my son is on Depako which use to cause him to feel nauseated, weak, pale, cold and shaking.
@mrturcios1 First, let me say thank you for your response. However, I do NOT want my son on any kind of madication because he is a bright kid (I'm sure just like yours) and so I want to research more information. We actually have a therapist who's studying him 2 times a week and she has not diagnosed him yet (but I think she's full of it)
@rainbowcoins1 I suggest you have your son seen by a Neurologist to get a accurate diagnose. I also have my son seen by two more neurologist just to get a second end third opinion but at the end i end up staying with the first Neurologist. scroll through my old post for more valuable information. This absence seizure cause my son to have a learning disability due to the missing information during his seizures. Teachers that are not aware mistakenly think that the child is not paying attention.
@mrturcios1 Thank you, thank you, thank you. I will certainly take your advice. I really (me and the wife) appreciate your opinion and experience in this case. I wish you and yours the best.
@mrturcios1 Because of your videos and others about absence seizures, I have found that he has the same thing happening to him so I will let her know what she thinks about that. Also, after watching this video, we will mention this to a "new" doctor which we hope can confirm by doing the exams you mentioned. I know he's advanced seizures are the simple ones but similar to your sons. Any information you provide is helpful and again, we thank you.
@rainbowcoins1 Go to your family doctor and tell him you suspect he's been having petit mal seizures and he will likely schedule you for an E.E.G. This is where they hook wires to the head and monitor the brains electricity.
@rbNNNN He went last week and he sure does have absence seizures. He had about 20 the doctor said while the 1 hour testing. We got a medication and so far he seems to be doing better. I was worried when I first started noticing this but thanks to videos like this one, I learned about it and had my son checked out. BTW, these seizures are pretty common on kids the Dr. said.
my 8 year old daug is doing the same thing. I thought she was just staring off and losing her train of thought. Her dance teacher noticed it and told me to look into staring seizures. She had a EEg done and it was confirmed that she has absence seizures. we had to go see an nuerologist (sp?) in a few weeks. I really would like to try natural remedies first. Have any of you tried supplements or altering the child's diet?
Someone mentioned they have seizures but are not epileptic because its not in the family, wrong. A person can have epilepsy for many reasons such as a head injury (like in my case) .If you have a seizure see a doc, get tests. For most people meds can take care of it or at least lessen them.
sendz a prayer . i was diagnosed with Epilepsy in May 2010 . I have grand mal , complex partial . and starting in Jan 2011 i also starting having absence seizures. i'm 24 year old female . i just wanted to let you know that your not alone . after my seizures i get a bad headache that brings me to tears .
My brother has this type of epilespy and has only had a few grand mal seizures, but since the age of 5 he had petit mal seizures constantly. Watching this little guy makes me think of my bro and what a rough journey he has had in coping with epilepsy. My brother is now 16 and has finally found a good med combination which combats the petit mals. We are told he is likely to grow out it by his twenties. I couldn't be more proud of him :)
Thank you for posting this video. My 9 yr old son has been seizure free for two years, but it took us a year and a half to get his seizures under control trying different medications. We are attempting to take him off of meds now to see if he has outgrown the seizures. I sent his teachers a link to this video so that they could know what they are looking for. I hope your son is doing well!
@Aimless2727 Well i am glad this video served its purpose which was to help people like you and your love ones to have a better understanding of what absence seizures are all about. We hope your son gets better and grows out of his absence seizures and be a normal kid again. Our blessings to you and your family.
@Aimless2727 hi i would like to konw what medication he was under ? and for how long until u decide to stop giveing him ? what medecation was perfect in controlling absence seizure ? and how old is he when he started having this kind of seizure ?
@Aimless2727 Dear, i found out my baby having seizure 5weeks ago. the duration of seizure has been decreased but he is so inattentive. how long it would take him to have some awareness? I am dying everyday seeing him that way. and glad your son is doing good now.
@EmergencyVehiclesAu Police lights are blindingly bright, the new ones are like an assault on the eyes! I wonder if we petition enough if they will change to a less bright setup???
I know what its like..I have petit mal seizures and a generalized form of grand mal, not all symptoms were present. I had hypsarrythmia ( infanitile spasm) people should be aware of seizures!! and what to do if witnessing one
@DancingDickhead And.....are you on any kind of "PENSION" at all..?. Or...fit for one?. I have the exact samething, and i was told, "don't fit for any kind of pension or disability pension at all...!"(CANADA), Thank you for your time, sincerly; Brad
omg, this is EXACTLY what my son does..We are having testing done in 2 days the a nuero in a week..After being told my son is just lazy by his teacher and the other teacher saying he is disrespectful due to him not answering her last year i look forward to finally having a diagnoses ...Then i will be going after the teacher and the principal for the gross negligent attitudes!

@Lynchman66 I was just diagnosed with these kinds of seizures today and my teachers say the same thing about me. i actually had a teacher who would lower my grade by 5 points every time i had one
@Lynchman66 I would be furious with those teachers. Apparently, there is a Huge need to educate ALL teachers about this phenomenon. As PUNISHMENT for the school, you might want to gather several youtube links - or any other sources and MAKE them watch it.
Im sorry for your baby, Im studying seizures right now and its really shocking to me, hope your son have a blessing life, and give him hugs and kisses from me , God bless you, love, Karen
@douxkaren thanks for your comments and your concern we realy appriaciate all your comments and just to let you know his seizures are now under control. thank you again
My 5 year old daughter was diagnosed yesterday with absence seizures so when searching them I can across this video...the very strange thing is every one that I have watched showing a child having an absence seizure...it's like looking at my child's eyes...their eyes all look just like hers! She will start medication tomorrow! Good luck with your child.
I would like to thank everyone for their support and understanding, and hope that some how this video help you understand and learn more about absence seizures. For those of you that are wondering how my son is doing now after two years of treatment, let me just tell you that he has not had a single episode of absence seizure since he first started taking his medecation. Thank you for your support.
I have had Epilepsy for 30 years. Have not had one in almost 10 years. What pills are you all taking? Personally I think Keppra did the miracle for me. But my Dr.(Soul Mate) thinks it is Lamictal. BUBBLY I have Complex Partial Seizures. What kind do you have and do you know the cause of them?
@Frysgirl3009 Yes, it appears to me that you have Absence seizures. I am 19 years old and I've had them since I was 12. and I have them happen to me over a dozen times a day. For me, My eyes roll back and my eyelids flutter. I don't even know what's going on then. My vision then blurs out. Then, my vision is normal, I'm fine after and alert. I'm not even epileptic (I know this because it doesn't run in my family) but this still happens to me when I am tired. It is trully quite strange.
Your post has been very helpful to my family. I was able to show this to family members that had never seen my son have an Absence Seizure. We have just started medication this weekend. I was wondering how your son is doing now and if on medication, which one and if you've noticed any side effects. From one parent to another I pray for your son and your entire family!
My son was diagnosed yesterday and I found this videos very helpful in pinpointing the behaviors during a absence seizure . What we thought was symptoms of being developmentally delayed were actually petit mal seizures. My son has the same eye movements as seen in this video. Occasionally mouth movements that resemble chewing have been seen also. Thank you for posting this.
My daughter is 5 and I first noticed this activity 6 months ago. I asked other family members if they noticed it but they all responded negatively. Lately they have become more frequent and last a lot longer. She had a seizure last night while walking which caused her to walk in circles for 15 sec. I called her dad and told him of her behavior. He immediately knew what was wrong with her. I believe that this is hereditary. I hope she grows out of this!
i feel for you my wife and i felt the same way, it was very depressing to us specially when we were witnessing his seizure bu thanks to god and his neurologist his seizure have been controlled and hes has not have one for about a year and a half. i hope this give you some kind of conforting. Our blessings to you and your child.
@mrsksparkz I use to take Depakote. Says my mom, and other sibblings, they tell me they last about 7 minutes. I was told I say and do unusual things. I had my MRI, EEG's CAT SCANS, And WADDA test. I am now taking Keppra, and Lamictal. Have not had one in almost 8 yeas. They are a bitch to deal with. So, best wishes for you and your daughter.
@BubblyMagic97 yes!! great idea people really need to be aware and understand what they can and can not do during one... i never really looked into seizures till today.. the cause being our high school quarterback went into a seizure then was taken to the hospital where he passed that night.. people need to know what to look for and how to identify these things.
Its nice to see videos on here like this, so I can show my 7 year old son what his look like. His started when he was 5 but I thought he was just ignoring me, an now I know. Its a scary thing.
Preferred, yes, but it's more complicated than that. Dietary carbohydrates (basically chains of glucose) are absorbed directly into the blood-stream, but the liver can convert carbs/proteins/fats into glucose or ketones for energy.
A lot of people with epilepsy find relief with this kind of restriction. I don't know many details, but I can find out more information for you, or at least direct you to sources. Even a short change in diet (2-4 weeks) might show positive results without harm...
My point is to start at the source and move forward. Most conditions have variable levels of genetic susceptibility (like my family's diabetes), but susceptible doesn't mean absolute. Take a susceptibility like diabetes or epilepsy. I use these because they both seem to be helped by adopting an evolutionary diet, that is, a hunter-gatherer one. I know of more than few people who have dropped diabetes medication after adopting it. Maybe it's a dead end for you, but it's so simple. Good luck!
Thanks arloj for your advise, i am really considering following the low carbohydrogen diet. I really want to thank you for taking the time to reply back and for providing me with such valuable information. thanks
my 8yr old son was diagnosed w absence seizures today! n i don't know very much about it. i decided to look on the internet for some info. im worry n i cried too much already im so worry....
Dnt worrie. It jst means e cnt do sum things. Most of which e wnt b doin yet. u can grow out of it wit in 2-4 years. i was his age wen i got diagnosed. im 15 n i stil hve it but only cos de doctors kept changin de tablets witch meant i had 2 sty off dem al 2gether for a few wks at a time. if e tkes his tablets/syrup everydy den e shud b fine by de time hes 10. just dnt let him go nywhere alne. dnt cry. he'l be k. o n dnt believe da shit on de web. most of it is lies. my doc told me dat. lol
i feel for you my wife and i felt the same way, it was very depressing to us specially when we were witnessing his seizure bu thanks to god and his neurologist his seizure have been controlled and hes has not have one for about a year and a half. i hope this give you some kind of conforting. Our blessings to you and your child.
yes he can remember what he was doin but it take him a few seconds to get back to what he was doin. It's been about 11 months since i posted this video and rightnow his absence seizure are being controlled and he has not had one for about 8 months.
well for everyone who has this best of luck i reli hope they cn find a way to correct without continuous drug use. they are doin stem cell stuff etc the should do brain growth i reckon they shouldv tried that first. hehe thn t so good da pepl we love can be hapi nd nt go thru ths stuf
Thanks everyone for your support and comments. My son is doing very well now he has not had any seizure since february 2009 thank to his neuroligist and his treatement . This is the medication that he is taking:
Depakote ER 250 MG Tablet ABB,
Ethosuximide 250mg/5 ML sytev
Promethazine 6.25mg/5ML Syrhit (for his nauseas caused by Ethosuximide)
@mrturcios1 My great-niece was doing the exact same thing a couple of years ago. I would be helping her with her homework & she would do the same thing. My Mom & I started watching her closely & new something was wrong. We shot video of her & showed it to the Neurologist. They have done EEG's & she has been diagnosed with Complex Partial Seizures. Have tweeked her meds a lot which really messed with her bubbly personality. God bless you & yours!
i wish him the best i use to get absence seizures took medicine for like 5-6 years i recenetly stoped now that im 18 i haven't had one for about 5-6 years wish him the best n hopefully he can out grow it good luck lil man
i was diagnosed with temporal lobe epilepsy with petit mal seizures when i was about 9 years old and was on Depakote until i was 14. my seizures looked exactly like his..i had a lot of them when i would do homework. the positive thing about having epilepsy as a child is that you're very likely to outgrow it. best of luck to you, your son and your family. :)
Hi! I would just like to tell you that my prayers are with your son!!
I just recently found out I had epilepsy. I take Topamax and Keppra. Nothing is working for me. I have some grand mals and some absences. Its hard sometimes, especially with school and all. (im a sophomore). Tell him hi for me!
My mom had a student in her class once that suffered from these. She would stare and stare, with partially closed eyes into space, and then suddenly jerk up.
this happen to me when i was a child but my teachers were harsh too me because they think i wasn't paying attention and thought i was daydreaming at classes when i speak to the teacher. My teachers gave me detentions for it until i was diagnose and my parents was furious with the school.
this happens to me , im 17 been happening since i was 13 or so...it feels like your really disconnected for a few seconds, not bad...totally dissociated..i have to come to know the feeling well and it is welcome as a brief altered state of mind.
My daughter has these now I thought they were fake until the school brought it to my attention that she was doing it at school...what did they do for your son? Im curious about treatment options...THANKS!
i want to thank you for your comment and i am sorry about not being able to thank you enough in the previus respond but they limit the amount of characters to 500 the maximum you can use so i was just trying to get you the most important information
Did you know that these absence seizure also happen while the child is asleep also?
yes they have then in their sleep also
well thank you again and i hope you get the right specialist with the righ treatment for your daughter
i have had about 10 of these when i was 9-12 years old but now i am 20 and havent had 1 since i was 12. i never told any 1 about it cause i was kinda scared but having 1 isent to bad. you feel no pain of any sort you just become retarded for about 5-15 seconds. makes you feel kind of wierd though i can tell you that. hope he gets better..
Thanks for your comment chaoticdopey. It is nice to hear from someone who have had the same disorder and give me a better view and understanding what my son is going through when he's having his absence seizure i really appriciate your comments and concerns. Thank you.
its scary I know I usually have a few of them. right before I have a Grand Mal or Tonic-Clonic Seizures from the point of view of the person its Horrifying.
WELL IVE NEVER HAD A Grand Mal or Tonic-Clonic Seizure AND HOPE I NEVER DO. I HEARD THAT THEY ARE PAINFULL. CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG. BUT MY Seizure DAYS ARE OVER NOW IVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH PANIC DISORDER AND HYPERVENTILATION DISORDER WHICH IS WORSE THAT THE Seizures IVE HAD
I have recently been experiencing some problems. When I am sitting down I get this buzzing feeling in the back of my head and then after that I can't remember anything. Am I having absence seizures?

Have they tried a drug called Lamictal on him? I too have Complex Partial Seizures a.k.a Absence Seizures. I have had them since I was about 4 years old or so. I have been on many different anti-convulsants. I am now on Lamictal and have been on it for about 2 years now. I only have a seizure about once or twice a week now.

Whars absence seizure?
SuperXJd 5 months ago
@SuperXJd
Absent epilepsy, otherwise known as absent seizure disorder, is a childhood disorder characterized by brief petit mal seizures. Seizures are a result of abnormal brain activity impulses between the nerve cells, or neurons. This intense activity leads to seizures and loss of consciousness.

Great, now I know what my son has. I thought it was ADHD or something but no, it is absence seizure. How do you deal with this?
rainbowcoins1 8 months ago
@rainbowcoins1 Hi Rainbowcoins1 in response to your question about how do we deal with my son's absence seizure? Well first you have to have your son to be seen by a Neurologist and he will run a variety of tests to give you a accurate diagnose of his problem this test may consist of taking deep breath through his mouth and exceling through his mouth which will induce the absence seizure episodes. He may also have him get an encephalogram or E.G.G which consist of reading his brain waves.
mrturcios1 8 months ago
@rainbowcoins1 After your son get his E.G.G done his neurologist will problaly put him on medication to control his absence seisures. In my son's case it took the neurologist a while to get him the righ doses to control his absence seizures. my son is on Depako which use to cause him to feel nauseated, weak, pale, cold and shaking.
mrturcios1 8 months ago
@mrturcios1 First, let me say thank you for your response. However, I do NOT want my son on any kind of madication because he is a bright kid (I'm sure just like yours) and so I want to research more information. We actually have a therapist who's studying him 2 times a week and she has not diagnosed him yet (but I think she's full of it)

rainbowcoins1 8 months ago
@rainbowcoins1 I suggest you have your son seen by a Neurologist to get a accurate diagnose. I also have my son seen by two more neurologist just to get a second end third opinion but at the end i end up staying with the first Neurologist. scroll through my old post for more valuable information. This absence seizure cause my son to have a learning disability due to the missing information during his seizures. Teachers that are not aware mistakenly think that the child is not paying attention.
mrturcios1 8 months ago
@mrturcios1 Thank you, thank you, thank you. I will certainly take your advice. I really (me and the wife) appreciate your opinion and experience in this case. I wish you and yours the best.
rainbowcoins1 8 months ago
@mrturcios1 Because of your videos and others about absence seizures, I have found that he has the same thing happening to him so I will let her know what she thinks about that. Also, after watching this video, we will mention this to a "new" doctor which we hope can confirm by doing the exams you mentioned. I know he's advanced seizures are the simple ones but similar to your sons. Any information you provide is helpful and again, we thank you.
rainbowcoins1 8 months ago
@rainbowcoins1 Go to your family doctor and tell him you suspect he's been having petit mal seizures and he will likely schedule you for an E.E.G. This is where they hook wires to the head and monitor the brains electricity.
rbNNNN 7 months ago
@rbNNNN He went last week and he sure does have absence seizures. He had about 20 the doctor said while the 1 hour testing. We got a medication and so far he seems to be doing better. I was worried when I first started noticing this but thanks to videos like this one, I learned about it and had my son checked out. BTW, these seizures are pretty common on kids the Dr. said.
rainbowcoins1 7 months ago
my 8 year old daug is doing the same thing.

Watching this little guy makes me think of my bro and what a rough journey he has had in coping with epilepsy.

Have you ever tried restricting carbohydrates?
arloj 2 years ago
no i never though of that before?
my understanding is the carbohydrates are our body's preferred energy source.
mrturcios1 2 years ago
Preferred, yes, but it's more complicated than that. Dietary carbohydrates (basically chains of glucose) are absorbed directly into the blood-stream, but the liver can convert carbs/proteins/fats into glucose or ketones for energy.
A lot of people with epilepsy find relief with this kind of restriction. I don't know many details, but I can find out more information for you, or at least direct you to sources. Even a short change in diet (2-4 weeks) might show positive results without harm...
arloj 2 years ago
My point is to start at the source and move forward. Most conditions have variable levels of genetic susceptibility (like my family's diabetes), but susceptible doesn't mean absolute. Take a susceptibility like diabetes or epilepsy. I use these because they both seem to be helped by adopting an evolutionary diet, that is, a hunter-gatherer one. I know of more than few people who have dropped diabetes medication after adopting it. Maybe it's a dead end for you, but it's so simple. Good luck!
arloj 2 years ago
Thanks arloj for your advise, i am really considering following the low carbohydrogen diet. I really want to thank you for taking the time to reply back and for providing me with such valuable information. thanks

God bless you & yours!

i was diagnosed with temporal lobe epilepsy with petit mal seizures when i was about 9 years old and was on Depakote until i was 14. my seizures looked exactly like his..i had a lot of them when i would do homework. the positive thing about having epilepsy as a child is that you're very likely to outgrow it. best of luck to you, your son and your family. :)

First his Neurologist order MRI and an EEG done then they prescribed the following medications
1 full spoon of ETHOSUXIMIDE 250 MG/ML SYSTEV twice a day in the morning and at bed time (should start with 1/4 teaspoon and increase gradually)
the side effects are: chills, vomiting, tired, sleepy ask your doctor to prescribe PROMETHAZINE HCL PLAINSYP 6.25/5ML to avoid these symptoms)
DEPAKOTE ER 250 MG TABLE ABB
1 tablet by mouth in the morning and 2 tablets at bed time.
