instead of overdrive, try using a clean setting with alot of gain. And it kinda sounds like you have thin strings. i use, at the smalles, 12's to get a good blues sound on my gibson les paul. overall, good playing!

Not bad man. You could work on the tone a bit, was a bit sloppy in places but your second video cleaned it up pretty well. Yea, if you don't have the pedals just take off the distortion and put in a little reverb and I'm sure it would be more pleasing to the ear, personal preference though. Keep up the good work.
