Thanks all for your wonderful comments. The video was taken from the 528 Causeway in Cocoa Beach. This was the first time I had ever seen a shuttle launch, so I got very lucky. (This was NASA's 3rd attempt this week to launch). No, Reef, I didn't really see the separation. All I saw was something that looked like a midnight sunrise!
I watched the launch from Port Orleans, a Disney resort and we could faintly see the SRB seperation. The launch was a truly incredible thing to witness live.
