  • crack a smile

  • at 2:01 when Obama says that he appreciates Dakota taking his call, the audience takes it as a joke but from the look on POTUS's face it seemed as if he were dead serious.

  • why did they call him corporal? is it cause that was his rank at the time?

  • @pbmaster4 Yes

  • SEMPER FI!!! Congrats, my Marine Brother

  • ur hero weres capes mine were dog tags ooorahh

  • Comment removed

  • Stick it up the ass medal!

  • im proud of you , killing thousends of civillians, and making a couple rich people richer !

    im proud !

god bless america , god bless this "patriotic" murder !

  • @TheMnmLism Fuck you faggot! Go live in Canada.

  • @Newports210 your comment shows how ignorant and obviosly dumb you are .

by the way ive never been in canada and i dont understand what your point is.

  • @TheMnmLism If they were CIVILLIANS then why did they fire upon American Soldiers? He did what he had to do, and you should be honored to watch this video, of one of Americas finest young men.

  • @ChronicThunder94 sure , a quick note .... irac war 03 - 09 = 63 % zivilians .

  • @TheMnmLism wtf is wrong withu u dumb fuk we they went there to talk to the elders as a peacfull comunion they shot at us first nd we returned fire to protect our men the afgan men nd the cilivilians with us nd by the way my brother was one of the marines there so if u dnt noe wat u r tlkin about do us a favor and shut the fuk up

  • @USMCsemperfitillidie do yourself a favor and learn english first please .

  • What a brave, brave young man! Thank you, sir!

  • SEMPER FI DEVIL DOG!!! OOH-RAH!!!

  • You can see that the guy is quite full of emotion at 14:35 +

Poor guy, can't be easy witnessing your friends die before your eyes.

  • Congrats for your MoH!

  • what a fucking hero

  • ofc all respect to the guy, he did the right thing in the situation, just NO respect for the government behind him thats for sure!

  • @Etrajbe Are you some kind of dork? Only a whimp-ass kid would post that much garbage on this Youtube site.

  • @Slumpnasty So, let me get this straight, you call truth garbage. This statement alone denies you having any sense of freedom, morality, justice or any form of insight or understanding. But i guess you are not in this category, i guess your a category 2, a brainwashed person. You deny truth, not through not knowing anything, but by having been fed the wrong information, its truly sad, and i hope you can get out of it so you dont die with your eyes closed :/

  • @Slumpnasty Just diagnosing you right of the bad, patriotism and corporate lies may not be the source of your condition, do i sense a hint of christianity? excuse me if im wrong. Im just really interested in the source of ignorance like this in the modern world to be able to fight it even better than we are right now.

  • @Etrajbe You're annoying me, and I'll tell you why. You make a lot of assumptions without adequate information. I got my bachelor's degree in 3 1/2 years without debt, so your "over-intellectualized category 3 fagginess" doesn't impress me.

  • @Slumpnasty Congratulations, then your lucky, however its obviously a big problem, for us citizens (when you have nation wide riots going for 3 months straight) and when u fuck over innocent people in other countries, its, again, quite obviously a problem. The richest people in the world have the most political power and those are the same people who profit of human misery, its not just the US, its the EU too. we people need to gather and defeat it before it goes too far.

  • @Etrajbe It's already gone too far. The task now is hoping the damage can be limited, which I don't think will happen

  • so sad... respect to people who want to make the world a better place, but any soldier should realize what crap they did serving CORPORATIONS for resources while fighting the same working class of another country, bullshit occupation, a country destroying the ideals of its founding fathers, yes its sad, and yes truth hurts, patriotism leads to ignorance.

  • This Meyer guy is a lying bastard and Obama went along with it so it could make the whole bullshit occupation of a country seem not a lost cause.

This guys story just doesnt add up. what a piece of shit.

  • Fuck the haters Dakota...we know what you did and proud of you.

  • give chuck norris his shoe lace back.

  • i love true honor of medal also ps3 ?

  • God bless you Dakota Meyer. I pray that someday peace can take the place of the memories of that horrific day. I can not begin to thank you enough for what you've done for the country I live in.

  • i wish i could at least touch the medal of honor

  • truly amazing

  • Oorah, I salute you sir.

  • Dakota Meyer, they don't come any better or braver.

    A true real life hero.

    God bless you.

  • Meyer was recently slandered by some war-profiteers, because he criticized their export of optics to Pakistan. I just don't think it's good common sense to fuck with a Medal of Honor recepient.

  • @Slumpnasty He criticized people who profited of exporting optics to Pakistan but he doesnt critisize the american government when they earn 3 billion dollars of selling heroin taken and grown in Afghanistan? (war profiting, and hypocrisy ( war on drugs ) ) brainwashing is a powerful tool.

  • probably the best medal of honor ive seen. respect

  • semper fi brother! and this is the kind of guy we need in our country!

  • when chuck norris goes to bed, he checks under his bed for Sgt. Dakota

  • No such thing as an ex marine.

  • @Niner234 no shit

  • @Niner234 Stole the words right out of my mouth. (or keyboard)

  • former marine?- you guys got the title wrong

  • Beast

  • OBAMA 2012

  • @ginofrater I bet that Marine standing there disagrees.

  • @usmcboyer

Do not bet on what you d'not know , be nice , it will get you a lot of nice things!!

  • @ginofrater You are correct, I do not know how Sgt Meyer feels about Obama. But I do know that President Obama is HIGHLY disliked by the vast majority of service members. That is a fact.

  • @ginofrater Active Duty Marine Corps Sergeant. Combat Veteran. Soon to be Disabled Veteran. I think I know what I am talking about in reguards to the military. Please inform me of your facts on what Obama has done for the military. Our salary increases do not even match the national average for inflation... meaning we make less and less every year compared to the last few administrations. Oh yeah, they just took away our tuition assitance as well. Free college reduced to 1.5 classes per year.

  • @usmcboyer

Sorry but i cant accept that as credible, i'm here in my house and were are you...in the field?

Anyone can came and post anything and i do not take it for granted i will consider your arguments whit a grain of salt! Just tell me who did more for the troupes than OBAMA!

  • @ginofrater You failed to show me what he has done while I provided two fact of how he has hurt us. I am obviously not in the field hence being on YouTube right now. I have served my time in the desert and I am finishing up a 3 year commitment with the DoS as an augment doing internal security at US Embassies overseas. Because of my diplomatic setting I have met both Obama and Hillary Clinton. I am directly affected by their decisions on the military. What is your military affiliation?

  • @usmcboyer

What i can say to you is thanks for your service, i hope this administration can help you in your reintegration into the society. As for your political posture i only have to say that we live in a democracy that is not perfect but is the best sistem tha we have in the world.

Who do you think is the person other than Obama ,that can get this country out of the recession created by the Bush administration,

  • @ginofrater Ron Paul without a doubt. Whoever it is has a huge mess to clean up.

BTW I tried to send you a message with links to prove my point that the military has a general dislike for Obama.

  • @usmcboyer

Tell me do you really think the republican party would let Dr.Paul get nominated to be in the ballot in movenber 2012 ?

If you want to send-me data use my channel to get my email!

  • @ginofrater No, they wont let him. But that will not stop people from voting for him. As a voter you need to vote for who you think is best, not what a politic party thinks is right.

He has my vote and many others that I know.

  • @usmcboyer

We know that, but you should vote for someone actually in the ballot!

    Thanks for your service!!

  • @usmcboyer What are the demographics of these dislikes, HMMM?

  • @NewarkBrickCity1970

I hope it's because they just accidentally click the wrong button.

  • He looks fat, more PT please.

  • Who gives a FUCK!!!!!!!!!!

  • To those people who hate the military or America: Go suck a cock and die!

  • Who gives a shit. Never met a Marine who didn't deserve a boot to the face...

  • @Punshr you should be shot you terrorist pig

  • On September 15th, 2011, Marine Sgt. Dakota Meyer was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. This date also happens to be the last date to file for the FDNY Exam. Sgt. Meyer is currently seeking for an extension to file for this exam so he could have the chance to become one of New York's bravest. All receiving this message are urged to make phone calls, forward this message and take any other action to make this Marine’s wish come true. Thank you.

  • @Scope000 It is NOT called the "Congressional" Medal of Honor, it is just The Medal of Honor.

  • @Palanthon I don't care.

  • @Scope000 You should, we do.

  • @Palanthon You spelled "I" wrong.

  • @Palanthon Throughout my years in the Marine Corps I've always heard it referred to as the CMH for short.

  • @503karichi Very possible as most people think it is called the "CMH" The "C" part of that comes from the "C"ongressional Medal of Honor Society. Named "Congressional" because it was established by Congress. The award is simply called The Medal of Honor.

  • This marine guy should get the Chuck Norris award! Thumbs up if you think this comment is cool!

  • Bravo Zulu Dakota from Hawaii

Marines, Marines like yourself stand for everything that is good, clean and strong in America . A right way of living which embodies honor & discipline. Your life gives testimony to all that is right in our country. Some say we are becoming weak as a nation in mind and body; Sergeant, you have proven that supposition is bunk !

Mahalo nui loa from Hawaii Dakota & Semper Fidelis Leatherneck,

    P.T. Brent

Did you do your "PT" today Sgt. Meyer ?

  • I was able to spend sometime with him today. I am only 14 years old but I was still able to feel how honorable it was to be in his presence. I was also able to take a helicopter ride with him which was completely awesome. When I grow up I hope to be as great as him. He is a true hero and role model. Semper Fi

  • Makes me proud to call him my Brother. Semper Fi.

  • Makes me proud to call him my Brother. Semper Fi.

  • It's the love for our country, I did 4 years in the Corp and when we screwed up we were all sent to the "Rose Garden" but when we did a good job... we all got that phone call home. All I am saying is if when there's a bank robbery!! The driver gets tha ax too for participating. It should be the same way if this Devil Dog got a medal, the driver should get one too. Not a pat in the back. Juan could had say "No, you drive yourself" NO!! He said lets go and risk OUR life.

  • ask any medal of honor recipient, they say they arent heros. in civilians eyes they are heros. but they dont see it that way, they see their fallen comrads as heros.

  • Sargent Dakota Meyer I salute you, God bless you.

  • "Men who have offered their lives for their country know that patriotism is not fear of something; it is the love of something."

  • I think the last Devil Dog who was still alive to receive his own Medal of Honor was in 1968. A Non Commissioned Officer (NCO) will always be the true backbone of the Marine Corps. Semper Fi, Brother and well done.

  • Happy to be a sister to every Marine out there, and especially one like this. Thank you for being a part of what reminds me every day why I joined. Semper Fi!!!!

  • Dakota was a Marine. For those of who are/were active, we know this esteem for his bravery is not really about The Corps, The Military, or Country. All this is secondary to Dakota as a human being. This brave young man had it in him all along. That's why he is a hero, and for no other reason. One has it or they don't. Dakota has the right stuff. He is an exception to the extreme.(USMC/1976)

  • mis repetos para ese soldado....gloria y vida !!!!!!

  • Semper Fi, Brother. Let's bow our head's for those brothers that didn't make it back, wish their families we'll. USMC 1974-1977.

  • He's an amazing guy. I hope to be like him(probably wont be) when i go into the military. He is just amazing. Great guy.

  • This marine should receive the Chuck Norris award.

  • @TwentySixToSeven:Friend, Marine is spelled with a capital "M," and Chuck Norris could not tie Dakota's combat boots. Norris is an image of media created by film-Dakota is the real deal.

  • Semper Fi!, my Marine brother!!!!

  • american war criminals

  • @xxxRedAssBaboon fuck you dude

  • Amazing hero.

  • Salserazo stated that gunny rodriguez didnt get the medal of honor like Dakota for taking same risk... suggesting racism?? im hispanic and i feel Dakota did more... he was the one who said we are going in... he took the initiative... he rode exposed and fire and killed the enemy other guy just drove... yes he had balls to drive there but truck was probably armored...

  • @LcdoSoto Yes, but Rodriguez, could've said "NO" and that's it. He couldn't drive him self. Rodriguez must've said "Let's go and let's risk our life" Remember Rodriguez is a higher rank than Meyer. There is no way a Cpl is going to tell a SSgt. "Get up and drive me over there!!!" There is no "I" in team, In the Corp they taught us to never leave the wounded behind. all I'm saying "Team Work" Should be awarded as a TEAM. if one gets medal, we all get medals. ERA works in many ways!!

  • @salserazo (Then) SSgt Rodriguez-Chavez was my SNCOIC in Oki, I have never met a more dedicated or humble Marine in my life. There are not many Staff NCO's in the Corps these days that genuinely give a damn about their Marines, but he was one. The boot PFC I was back then considers it an honor to have made him coffee and to have been corrected by him for clipping my shop keys on my belt loop. :) And I can say with certainty that he needed no Cpl to tell him they were going in.

  • @Kalrenbok You got it!! just because you're driving doesn't mean you're risking your life less. A risk is a risk and a life is a life, and you only have one. Wether the humvee was armored or not they both risk their lifes they both saved those soldiers lifes, they both have the same motto "Marines never leave their wounded behind" they both should get the same merit and same medal.

    Semper Fi.

  • This is the kind of YouTube video that should viral and get millions of view!

  • I got Medal of Honor for PC.

    Problem?

  • Semper Fi

  • Ooh rah Sergeant; you kept the faith. Like Pres Obama said, you did your duty with the fullest measure of devotion. 36 people are alive because of you, and four got the memorials they so rightly deserved because of you.

The Marine Corps is a brotherhood, and you kept the faith. All Marines from here to eternity will know of your extreme esprit de corps. Your love of your Brothers in Arms will be a part of recruit training from here to eternity. Well done.

  • Give this guy a book deal.

  • true marine. oorah brother.

  • A true example of the American Spirit of Devotion to his fellow Marines and other Service Personnel that needed his above and beyond help on that day !

  • I dont know what this salserazo said but I dont fucking like it. And what the fuck is this former shit? Semper Fidelis brother.

  • Mr. Meyer.... I was not a Marine, but I was a soldier in our country's Army. You, Sir, are the example that should be the standard. You, Sir, are part of the reason that make me proud to be an American. Your selfless service, sir, HUMBLE ME. God Bless America, and this true American Patriot....Dakota Meyers!

  • This is da man my friend. Truly American MAN.

  • What Medal of Honor? Just a metal plate.

  • above and beyond...you did the right thing ...hoorah...xoxoxo

  • Thank you Mr. Meyer ! Marine Dakota Meyer = Courage.

  • actually, there is such a thing as a former Marine, there's no such thing as an Ex-Marine if you want to be correct about it.

  • @zantarez "A Marine is a Marine. I set that policy two weeks ago - there's no such thing as a former Marine. You're a Marine, just in a different uniform and you're in a different phase of your life. But you'll always be a Marine because you went to Parris Island, San Diego or the hills of Quantico. There's no such thing as a former Marine.

General James F. Amos, 35th Commandant of the Marine Corps"

    got it numb nuts????

  • 11:23 Would love to have seen a pack of DI's pop and "help" POTUS with his stance....

  • fix the title you fucks....

  • There is a reason that the best get out.

    Congratulations to Meyers.

  • GREAT AMERICAN!

  • Although you're right he does deserve more than that

  • Juan got the Navy Cross

  • OOHRAH!!!!

  • @Thedarksancity, the term "Former Marine" been around forever. its used when someone say Ex Military. Former meaning no longer in the Service, as active or reserve. But you are correct in one thing, once a Marine...always a Marine.

  • What a nice honor for SGT Meyer, Gunny Rodriguez, the Fire Team members, their families and all my brothers and sisters of the US Marines.

I'm so proud of my fellow young Marines. Semper-Fi

  • thank god for people like Dakota Meyer <3 he surely is a real hero (:

  • Gunny Rodriguez received the Navy Cross, second only to the Medal of Honor. Unless you were there shut your mouth, or do some research salserazo.

  • this is what every marine aspires to be, I put on my uniform every day for Marines like this who paved the way for us. He is the definition of what every Marine aspires to be. Best part about this Marine is that despite the Medal it wont change who he is. Semper Fidelis Sgt. Dakota Meyer

  • "From now until the day you die, you are Marines"...per R Lee Ermey, Marines die, that's what we're here for, the Marine Corps lives forever, therefore, we live forever!" At 63, I sweat, breathe and bleed green...

  • @BushMass At 20 I sweat, breathe and bleed green along side you

  • @helljumper51 OOORAH! Bro!

  • @BushMass....OohRah!!!!!!

  • Anyone that has that medal and is still living is officially one bad ass dude. Congratulations Meyer. President Obama, Thank you for honoring our this young man.

  • Very brave young man. You can't save them all, you can't save everyone. He's thinking of the people he couldn't save, but so many he DID save. A lot of pain in his eyes.

  • I hope we continue to support our troops, and not politicize the war any further, putting their lives at risk.

  • A a Vietnam Marine veteran I would like to nominate Dakota Meyer for membership in ' The Order of the Golden Wheelbarrow '

  • @artscriticXX What does that mean? I found no reference to that, but did get many deals on wheelbarrows doing a google search. Are you being mean to Dakota Meyer?

  • SOOO!!! Juan Rodriguez who took the same risk as Sgt Meyer and he doesn't get sh*t, that's mess up. Gunny Rodriguez deserves the same Medal.

  • @salserazo well the gunny didnt take on as much enemy fire as dakota read the story youll get it

  • @salserazo he earned the navy cross. 2nd highest award a marine or sailor can receive.

  • @salserazo the gunny received the Navy Cross as well as Capt Fabayo... These two individuals were with Sgt Meyer but later got into an uparmored humvee and brought the KIA to a safer location, while Sgt Meyer continued on foot.

  • @salserazo yeah but it also depends on how your command writes it up. like all awards.

  • @salserazo Recieiving a Navy Cross is pretty extraordinary too, even the Bronze Star is a very honorable award to rate as well, 100% of the Marine corps would dream to rate those 2 medals and only maybe 2% do.

  • Comment removed

  • @rufus819 No, the Bronze Star USED to be a high honor. It lost its purpose when military officials started awarding them to officers and senior enlisted who sit behind desks in Kuwait and Qatar and have never seen combat or been around it. Only Bronze Star worth honor any more is with Valor, and that's sad.

  • @MTVXFan the bronze star is alot more common it seems like they award 3-4 of them a month but it still is something to be proud to rate, its not one of the rediculous amounts of medals that everyone who comes back from deployment gets its not like they gave these other Marines another National Defense or GWOT award for being there they got a very honorable award as well.

  • @salserazo he got the navy cross you jackass....watch the whole ceremony

  • @salserazo Yeah, Juan Rodriguez took some risk too, but he drove the vehicle the whole time. Sgt Meyer was exposed from the waste up the entire time, except for when he was fully exposed saving the wounded marines and soldiers

  • @salserazo I don't give a fuck what these other posters say, I'm with you man! That Gunny deserved the same recognition, not play second banana!

  • An Army Captain might get a MOH for this battle also.

  • There is officially no such thing a a former United States Marine per policy set by the 35th commandant of the USMC.

  • WOW

  • Was he discharged for disobeying the order?

  • @TheNYCDreams ,You are a true idiot!

  • @DrPepperLuver26 Hmmm, ok. Guess that is a no. Why is he a 'former" Marine; does anyone know? Just curious. Great story though.

  • @TheNYCDreams Negative.

  • @TheNYCDreams No but the two ARMY officers who denied permission to attempt a rescue were charged with dereliction and are no longer in the service of this country. The Sgt got a MoH.

  • @fraggle245 Ah, I see. Thanks!

  • how disrespectful referring to these Marines by their first name. they earn their rank through blood, sweat, and tears and deserve to be addressed by it at all times.

  • Whoever read the citation, needs to learn how to read and speak in public.

  • Semper Fidelis...88-92

  • No such thing as a former Marine. Once a Marine, always a Marine.

  • @TheDarkSanctity

That's what my daddy always says.
