This is a sweet show! Why don't we have anything like this anymore? This is what makes great conversational television, not to mention that Ricky Jay is on here.
Actually he said Dai Vernon AND Charlie Miller. But to get to the point; you can be patiently self worshipping and understandingly critical. It hardly seems necessary to bring up someones bad qualities everytime somebody points out the good ones just because they're imperfect.
That lawyer roundtable was fantastic. Incredible to look back now, and hear things like (paraphrasing) "If the DNA shows he was there, it's all over," or, "The media won't affect the jury if we have a good judge." They're all saying the sensible thing, not knowing that "sensible" is a word that won't touch this trial.
While watching the lawyers, I read the comments here, ripping Charlie. I thought they were too harsh...until I saw the RJ piece. What nonsensical questions!
the man has interviewed everyone from sitting presidents to sitting dictators. notice the guy uses a crappy kitchen table for his interviews. this isnt lameass late night talk show crap, its intelligent "conversation".
oh, and ricky's the man. great to see two great minds having great conversation. all they're missing are two tall guinnesses.
and weird watching coverage of the OJ case. i musta been in elementary school.
Charlie Rose has a reputation for getting great guests but he himself is so horribly boring. He has no presence as an interviewer and manages to make his most interesting guest SO incredibly boring!
