Yes, I agree to some of what you say. But the slave trade in Africa was ran mostly by black people. No, not talking about indentured servants here, there were some white slaves, Asians, etc. It was just easier for them to escape and blend than it was for the black slaves. Not a childrens cartoon. Research people, research. Loony Tunes where played before feature films at the cinema. I am not defending this cartoon. I am only say that it was never intended for children. Cartoons where originally for adult entertainment. That why so many had popular adult figures in the, politicians, actors, and such. They also almost always where violent and where subject to adult themes. The ones you see on TV today are censored or not from the era.

I can see two big inaccuracies right away. 1) All This and Rabbit Stew was NOT Elmer Fudd's first appearance. He was fully formed 1 full year before in the cartoon Elmer's Candid Camera. 2) King Loius of The Jungle Book was based on Louis Prima, a famous Italian jazz singer. How can an ITALIAN orangotan in the jungles of INDIA be a slam against black people? That's like seeing an Irish penguin in Mongolia and shouting "Hey, they're making fun of Mexicans". Do more research next time.

Yes, I agree to some of what you say. But the slave trade in Africa was ran mostly by black people. No, not talking about indentured servants here, there were some white slaves, Asians, etc. It was just easier for them to escape and blend than it was for the black slaves. Slavery chained millions, period; Asians, Europeans, Indian, Middle Eastern, etc. My point, slavery existed in all cultures and still exists in some. It is not a history belonging only to the black people.

Not a childrens cartoon. Research people, research. Loony Tunes where played before feature films at the cinema. I am not defending this cartoon. I am only say that it was never intended for children. Cartoons where originally for adult entertainment. That why so many had popular adult figures in the, politicians, actors, and such. They also almost always where violent and where subject to adult themes. The ones you see on TV today are censored or not from the era.

I can see two big inaccuracies right away. 1) All This and Rabbit Stew was NOT Elmer Fudd's first appearance. He was fully formed 1 full year before in the cartoon Elmer's Candid Camera. 2) King Loius of The Jungle Book was based on Louis Prima, a famous Italian jazz singer. How can an ITALIAN orangotan in the jungles of INDIA be a slam against black people? That's like seeing an Irish penguin in Mongolia and shouting "Hey, they're making fun of Mexicans". Do more research next time.

Maybe my statement was perhaps wrong, but all cases of white oppressions was caused by white people oppressing one another. Which basically is more easily reversable then racism on other cultures. The Jews however were seen as "subhuman" by the Nazi Germans, so i guess at that specific time period, they wouldn't of been considered white in the Axis Mind frame now would it.

What you have to realize is they made Popeye to boost the American moral in WWll so they would make fun of the Japanese. Plus in that time era racism wasn't frowned upon it was part of everyday life. I agree that most of the cartoons depicted has racist themes, but not Jungle Book or Happy Feet.
King Louie is an orangutan who just happens to be voiced by a black man. This doesn't neccesarily equate to racism. Secondly, the 'Five Amigos' presented in the Happy Feet clip weren't racist either. Racism means bigotry and prejudice, but the characters were merely representing a group of mexican friends.
