Interesting...I would have thought Hardy would have been doing some power-lifting for the role...then again, it might just be Hardy's natural physique. Either way, Tom Hardy is a brilliant actor...which is more important than any other aspect in a film role...which is why his choice for Bane is truly inspired. For a role like that you need an actor that can convey and inspire dread through his eyes and body movements. Bane is a smart villain that happens to be strong, not a brute.

@BSideleau I may be wrong but tom's natural physique is very slim... If you see him in Layer Cake or Star Trek he's very slim. He's a great actor, and very dedicated in terms of the changes you see him make on his body for roles like Bronson, Tommy Conlon, Bane etc. Seems like a very interesting character and nice guy too

Physical and vocal transformation and no supporting actor nom.? I'll be pissed if Nolte doesn't win best supporting. Warrior is one of my favorite movies and I say that as someone who isn't a big fan of fighting films, where the protagonist is up against some opponent you have no absolutely no emotional connection to. Protagonist defeats the enemy, yay! Warrior completely flipped this and the overused, archaic win/lose dichotomy so prevalent in the genre and among sports fans.
