Not to tell you your business but winging the cylinder over like that is super hard on those guns. It eventually will cause timing problems if you keep doing it. An old timer caught me doing it an chewed my ass.....
That is a collapsed late 1800s barn. Just the roofline resting on the ground. It is all fallen logs and serves as the backstop. Beyond it is 6 acres of swamp. I can see what you mean about it looking like a house though.
nice gun! what's the barrel-length on yours? i'm getting one with the 6.5 inch barrel, thought that might be good for hunting. any suggestions for a good brand/ bullet weight for deer with this gun? looks like you're having fun...keep it up!
how's the pricing of .357 rounds in general and the ease in which you can find'em? i want a nice side-arm to go with my new rifle and this Ruger Blackhawk's the one i'm considering. any help is appreciated!
I went shooting today, and i had a gun just like this one, now i'm 13, and i could shoot it with one hand controllably. I thought the recoil would be a lot more violent, guess not.
I have the same gun but it shoots .45 acp. It's a great peacemaker and side arm for deer hunting. Sometimes the firing pin jams when it's loaded though, very scary and dangerous!
I never met a Ruger Blackhawk I didn't like. I have the 41 Magnum in a 6 and 1/2 inch barrel and I love it. I have shot the 44, 357 and 45 Long Colt and it was a pleasure to shoot all of them.
Not bad at all. It's a bigger pistol so the weight absorbs a lot. Single action is fun. The GP100 is a great handgun. That one has the Neoprene(I think thats what Ruger calls it) grips that are designed to take the brunt of the punishment.
The hardest kicking 357 I ever owned was a snubby from Taurus in Titanium. Bastard was brutal. This pistol is tame in comparison.
cool. my only worries is the exposed back strap. a redhawk has the backstrap exposed, and that fucker hurts my hands when i shoot it. it sucks that ruger doesnt fit the srh grip on the regular redhawk... thanks for the info.
HI, JAJA, NICE SHOTS, BUT I HAVE A QUESTION MY FRIEND...IS THE 357 MAGNUM (4 INCHES BARREL) LOUDER THAN A 9MM O 45 ACP? HOW MUCH LOUDER IS THE 357 MAGNUM FIRED FROM 4 INCHES BARREL?. AND DON'T FORGET "happiness is a warm gun"
My friends grandpa has this same gun..I shot it for the first time today...SWEET GUN!!!!!!!!!!

@Helikaon9 357 is moderately priced and its easy to find them. Probably the most common single action round now a days .

@PAINTANK is a dan wesson ppc have a really strong recoil?
JohnnySton3r 1 year ago
A 357 magnum only has a bad recoil if it has a small barrel length.

That thing is a cap gun compared to my OLD model SUPER Blackhawk 44 magnum. Still a nice SA revolver.

Man I want to see a Model 25 Smith and Wesson! And I can't find one. But Rugers will do fine until then.

I got a 357/9mm conv on layaway. Cant wait to get it. How is the recoil on that compared to the gp100?

I got a nice set of hogue rubber grips on my BH .44 mag and it turned robust recoil into easy to manage recoil and covers the backstrap.

i just got one for Christmas it was my grandfathers its an old one and has a real animal horn grip and believe it or not its my 14th gun.

I've got that same model.
What load were you using?
Asertix357 4 years ago
Target loads. Nothing special.
I typically shoot .38s through it for practice.
It's the 200th Year of American Liberty model.
What I really want are better grips, these are the factory ones and they are a bit small for my taste.

I just noticed something. I was aiming for the door of the stove the last 12 shots, not the metal plate on top!

9 is loud but I think 357 is louder.
45 is easy.
PAINTANK 4 years ago
i dont believe the 9 is nearly as loud or as powerful as a 45.lol
gandb21 4 years ago
9 is loud. The 45 has stopping power because it is big and slow. The 9 is faster.
I prefer the 45 personally.

yea, i kno, pretty much all pistols can make your ears ring, even a little .22lr
