  • 音樂太大聲!

  • how about zhen zhu nai cha

  • Dude, you rock! What a lovely, happy, energetic, funny lesson!

  • In my custom dictionary for Mandarin:

    'jiu=aged beverage=liquor.

    jiu=old

    jiiiu=long time duration

  • 86 the music when you start teaching. It's very distracting! Xie Xie

  • What did the lady say at 2:18 ?

  • Comment removed

  • At 2:18 she said, "Hao le." It means OK or good.

I can't hear it pronounced either but I can make out what was said.

  • @stanleygsf she said "hao le" it means all right, or good.

  • she said 'hao3 de'.....

  • Shye shye Benny, I will have to remember that if I go to a resteraunt in China some time...If I get to go to China.

  • Thanks for your video, but like another poster said, please turn down the volume of your music.

It's suppose to be "background" music not

    "foreground" music.

    Thanks

  • I found the music to be too loud and I couldn't make out what you were saying. Just FYI. :-)

  • ni hao benny laoshi...

    is mai means to buy?

  • Hi Benny !! So great to learn with you. I´ve got a little doubt. In the video at first you use the verb 喝 hē (to drink) and when you go out was change the verb to drink for to buy.....买 mǎi , i´m just learning,,,sorry if i´m wrong and thanks a lot for your great job. Greetings !!

  • hey, this is so much! i love this lesson, . .thank you so much, you're my newest prof,. .. its perfect, todays my vacation, i'll study mandarin. . . .

  • It's my pleasure! Hope you enjoy your vacation. Don't forget to learn mandarin with me.

  • hi Benny! Xie Xie, I'm in Suzhou and just started learning Mandarin with you...you're such a great teacher! you're handsome too :)

  • Thank you my friend! Have any question just let me know.

  • Very professional editing, but jut one suggestion for improvement. The background music makes the video 'cooler', but it interferes with language learning. It's hard to make out the pronunciation for the words because of Michael Jackson's singing. An instrumental sound track would take care of this problem.

  • Thanks for your suggestion. We will take care of this next time.

  • I agree with this comment. The music is distracting to me although I really like the song. I also love your lessons and teaching style benny

  • i really want to learn how to speak chinese first question i have is whats mandarian

  • "Mandarin" is the name for the standard Chinese Language for all of China!

  • nevermind...it was in my notes already

  • Yes... if you use our website, you will be able to download the PDF file for FREE!

  • when he's doing the demonstration he's telling the waitris Wo yao my kele......what does the my mean

  • In Chinese,"Mai" means"buy"

    Keep in touch!

    Enjoy learning Mandarin with me!

  • we will xD

  • The "my" is actually splet as "mai" which means "to buy"

  • This might help:

Wo yao he pi jiu... I want to drink beer.

Wo yao he kafei... I want to drink coffee

Wo yao he kele... I want to drink cola

Wo yao mai pi jiu... I want to buy beer.

    etc.

  • Thank you for your support! My friend! Have you been to my bennysland?

  • With all the loud Jackson Five in the background and no subtitles, it's hard to hear the pronounciations very well.

Benny, just a suggestion. Play the music at the intro then lose it during the lessons.

  • Sorry, tunein! We are doing a new version of the Vedios,I think they will be better.Thank you for your advice

  • when you were doing the demonstration, instead of saying yao he.....you substituted he with what seemed like "my"....?

  • Doesn't ice cold water count as a drink too?

  • How old do you have to be to get beer in China? ^^

  • 18 in law,but in fact a five-year-old boy can also buy beer,even wine.

  • LOL, Benny... You tell us you're going to teach us how to use 'wo yao he' and then you use 'wo yao mai'...

However, I'm enjoying your series of microlessons.

    Hao ! Hao !!

  • Xie xie ni!!! I'm very happy that you like my lessons. And thanks for pointing out!!

  • can you post more of this chinese lesson!!tnx

  • Although I know what you guys are saying... it would be nice to put subtitles when the waitress is talking. That way everyone will know what she is saying and the segment will flow better. It does seem like the word of the day is "Mai"

  • Ni Hao Lukygirl! We have tried to make the focus of the learning one phrase at a time! We thought by adding other words, it may also put some people off... But it's a great point and let's see what we can do for the next batch! Xie Xie Ni for your comment! Benny

  • what does "mai" mean in "wo yao mai..."

  • "Mai" means "to buy"...but I think you already knew this! ;o) Well spotted and many thanks!
